Funny seeing these youngsters connect with Prince's music and sound now, while during the time that he was around, idiots kept claiming that he was "played out". Common people know next to nothing about real music. Prince's music NEVER goes "out of style". The man was before his time and his music is timeless.

Try their other hit, Jungle Love. You'll see where Bruno Mars took his sound from. To me, he's just a pale copy of the original 80's funk music. Another song you should check out is Oh Sheila by Ready For The World. It's got a very similar sound and beat to this song. The video is a time capsule of the 80's in all its fabulous glory.

The song could've been shorter? Nah, it wasn't long enough!😂 That song is like the ultimate jam. Prince may have done all of the instruments on the recording, but the Time definitely did their thing when playing this live. Tired of the Prince stans not giving Morris, Jimmy, Terry, Monte, Jellybean and especially Jesse, who's on guitar, their due. These dudes are great musicians in their own right.

Without Prince there was no Time... SMDH!! I'm tired of all the stupidity of folks thinking the cart comes before the horse that pulled it. NO canvas was available or provided by their OWN so called greatness until P made it possible. NONE of them were doing anything close to what they became before P...so STOP it. The rehearsals, training, pep talks, showing them how to play THEIR instruments better than them!! Even Jam and Lewis mentioned that NUMEROUS times.. So STOP it!!

We're only young once. This was my prime-time music era. I was doing my thang in the 70s and the early 80s. It doesn't really matter how the new generation has run off with our 'gifts', just as long as everyone knows the early generation have already boxed and gift-wrapped it all FIRST.

Keep in mind that this album only had 6 songs on it. I think it allowed Prince to really let the instrumentals play out in a way that he wouldn't be able to if they were more than 6 songs on it. Because of it I never really felt cheated even though I knew most of the other albums out at the time had like 10 or more songs on them.

So where did that title came from? Well, when this was recorded, Prince himself had just released "1999" and got word from Revolution guitarist Dez Dickerson (Look up the "1999" video Dez is the one with the Japanese bandana and the black and white guitar) that he wanted to leave The Revolution after the tour was over. Prince, ever the understanding one told him that he understood and wished him all the best. After the tour finished Dez was replaced by Wendy Melvoin. But Prince didn't let Dez go without a final jab in the latter's ribs. Because "777-9311" was Dez' actual phone number.

Its a damn shame, that there is no footage of Prince playing that guitar solo live some where. He tore the roof off the Mutha!!! Literally!!

I gotta start pacing you out. These video reactions are kill'n me. But what a way to go. This The Time, but Prince wrote (and played) a lot of what's on the album. Jessie Johnson on guitar however, Prince wouldn't write his part and let him rip. Either Prince or Morris on the drums. Prince on bass I think. It could be Terry Lewis but on the album I think it's Prince.

Samples only give you a sample of what the original artists produced! Once you know the whole original song, the samples immediately seem incomplete.
