Dear Moto Blonde. The Yamaha MT-07 is a proven winner with more after market support. For you greater after market support equals more how to vids and a better ride for you. The MT-07 may cost more, but you will recoup much of that back when you sell it. I would get the MT-07 over the CFMoto.

I just picked up the Trident 660 and I absolutely love it. It comes full of tech such as a slipper clutch, traction control with rider modes, self canceling indicators. It is still very light and nimble and has that beautiful triple sound. I recommend giving it a try. Or if you want more I'd go Street Triple.

Fellow MT07 rider here. I currently drive stock. Its a very jerky bike, I love that fact. But, its only in first and second gear with that raw power. I can full throttle on 3rd gear up no problem without any fear of that front wheel lifting up. You can always change the sprocket for a smoother ride. If you do want to get into the stunt side, FZ/MT 07 make great stunt bikes.

It's so hard... even as a first time rider there are so many great beginner bikes out there... it's impossible to choose. I checked out your CFMoto video (and many other peoples) and the value of those bikes is insane, the features you get compared to other stuff in the same class is honestly pretty crazy. Unfortunately there is not really any dealers in my area of Connecticut, so I think I'm gonna go with something else to start with. Apparently they are releasing a single-sided swingarm version of the 450SS which I'm sure will be a huge seller for them as well. If they do a 650 sportbike I bet it will crush it too. I'm tempted with a naked bike but I'm a big dude, my shoulders and torso just being grabbed by the wind doesn't sound like the most fun. Thanks for the videos.

Have you looked at the Tuono 660? Same weight as the MT07, a little more power and plenty of rider aids to keep your wheels on the ground. It has a small wind screen and a very comfy seat! I haven't had a chance yet to ride many Yamaha sport bikes. My daughter bought an FZ07 and it is fun. I did take her to the Kawasaki demo truck, and we rode a handful of bikes. The 650 motor is great. Very smooth, with great power delivery. I fell in love with the Z900. That bike is sooooo well balanced, I had it going 1 mph with my daughter on the back and didn't have to put a foot down right away. Kawasaki could be a brand to look into for yourself. I have looked at CF Moto. They are appealing for sure, but of course, the aftermarket support doesn't seem to be there just yet, so you may be stuck with a stock bike for a while.

Saturday I set on several bikes trying them out. The KTM 390 adv fit really nice except it was wide as hell between legs. Even for me at 6'2. I also sat on a pan am , 2 soft tail slims with apes and a t bar , a road king , a street glide, a low rider st , a street glide st. Several other bikes. A Ducati monster and desert sled. Pan am and road king felt the best to me. The KTM 390 was a favorite though too. Have you tried a FZ 6 ? I think that's it. It's a upright sport touringish bike , has a small fairing. You may like it. I sat on a mt09 too. Seeing you push the mt07 around reminds me how tiny you are lol. Good vid

Its powerful, light, agile, super fun and very futuristic looking. It also has a very premium feel, plus comes with a ton of great features standard (switchable ABS, fully adjustable suspension, quick shifter etc) Its also super cheap at $5600. I have never ridden an FZ-07 but from my understanding it is a little different to the newer MT-07 which I have had the pleasure of riding and must say its got to be one of the better naked bikes out there, if not the best...That being said I wound up with an SV650 instead 🤣Keep us informed with the search and thanks for putting out another fun video!

I’m positive it’s because of the mods - and I guess the part that I talked more about didn’t make it to the video but they weren’t all bad once I knew what they were and I can see why people do them. But I was thinking wow a beginner can get into a LOT of trouble on this if they’re not careful 🤣 I’ve heard great things about the sv650!

@@MotoBlonde Totally agree the bike can be a lot for a beginner rider (or even and experienced one) the sv650 is a nice bike, I like that its a lot simpler than the other naked bikes (not too much tech to worry about or expensive parts to replace) and there are a lot of them out there so they are cheaper to buy. Plus since the bike has been around for so long it has a really strong aftermarket for mods. Good luck with the search!

Hi Heather. Sweet bike. I'm looking for my third bike. I'm really considering the MT-09. I want the MT-10 but the price difference seems to be a few thousand between the 09 and 10. You said wish you could use each bike for longer. I know multiple people who own bikes but rarely ever ride them. Their bikes just sit in the garage collecting dust. Too bad you could find those people and borrow their bikes for a month or two at a time. I'm really enjoying your videos of you riding different bikes. Hope you are financially able to continue. Remember that just like all the upgrades you do to your Harley-Davidson's, you can also do upgrades to metric bikes to improve the ride and ergos. Take care Heather.

genuinely one of the worst bikes ive ever driven, acceleration and top speed is ok on them but thats about it, never felt something so unsettled in corners from the factory, suspension and tires are bad. Even a 1200 vfr was carrying more speed in the corners than this bike could, and feels quite uncomfortable if you have to sit on it for more than an hour. Kinda a pointless bike when you need to replace half of the parts to have a decent bike, but by the time you take the cost of new tires, suspension, brakes, seat, you add another 2k+ on to the bike.

That's one thing about my FZ-07 you do need to be smooth on the throttle .. open a little and you get hard acceleration .. close a little and you get hard Engine Braking.. I have a Buell also and even though it has a much lighter crank and flywheel than Harley's have the Buell holds a very even speed because of all of the massive engine mass. You can change the fuel shut off during deceleration on the MT-07 with a Tune.. Also you don't want to jerk the slack in the chain.. My Buell has a belt with a belt tensioner thus it never has a jerk in belt slack .. I have not got a drag strip time on the Yamaha yet.. I would not be surprised if it is faster than the Buell in the quarter mile as it is 100 Pounds lighter.. My Buell @ 103 HP ran the quarter @ 12.77 @ 107 MPH ..

If you want more power but don't want a heavy bike the MT-09 is 11 pounds heavier but it's an 890cc triple. 417 pound curb weight but it's $1,600 more.

A 2017 FZ-07 is the bike I started on. Love the bike but the things I didn't like are: Very small gas tank. The stock mirrors do not give you a good view. Bar ends really helped. Very sensitive throttle. Piss poor rear brake. Still loved the bike. It belongs to my son and he would store it with me in NJ for the winter. I would take it back to him in the spring to his place in CT (200mi) away. Very comfy but that small tank would make me refill in NY and you know those NY gas prices.

Loved the video on the 450SS. Even after getting a new Aprilia RSV4 Factory limited I still want the 450SS. As for the MT07 it's easily the bike I recommend for riders moving on from their beginner bike. I loved the 2018 MT07 I had which became my gf's MT07 when I bought a MT09 SP. The stock suspension gets hate from some as they say it's too soft. Yet the MT07 was designed to be a grunty torque monster for city riding and with many cities having crappy road conditions the soft suspension is meant to absorb those potholes and bumps. Legit with a fender eliminator, aftermarket exhaust and maybe a windscreen the MT07 is perfect. And if the cable throttle, no rider aids and no cruise control is a deal breaker then just get the MT09 SP. As the MT09 SP is a big improvement and just as much of a hooligan wheelie machine as the MT07. Also yes Grom + wheelies = some of the best times you'll have on 2 wheels.

If a Grom makes you feel it gives one of the best times you'll have on 2 wheels, why buy anything else? I get around Dallas on a 125 cc scooter. I can't ride on the highways, but I can get everywhere in the city. It just takes longer. Which means more riding time. I also get 91.5 mpg when I commute to work.

Stock mt07 will still wheelie no problem and still has plenty of torque. Stock the suspension isn't great but its adequate for general use. Mt07 are good reliable bikes with plenty of aftermarket support and worst case scenario there typically easy to sell on private market and they hold there value relatively well.

It's interesting how different an experience can be on a bike because of sizing. I'm 6'8" and the MT-07 is just impossible for me to ride. Both for my weight and my legs. But I believe it's a perfect bike for you. Have you tried the 2018 Honda CB650R. It's a very nice bike and that's actually the only smaller naked that's even remotely possible for me to ride a few miles. Great video and thanks for letting me tag along on your ride.

Haven't seen your other videos, youtube just recommended this one, A+ by the way. You may want to look into the MT-09 instead(2023 model...has a few needed improvements to make riding better), light, good gas mileage, very torquey and comes as the mt-09 or xsr900

I loved the MT-07 that I had. It had plenty of power and it handled really well. I bought it slightly used and the original owner had put a Yoshimura exhaust on it. It was a very fun bike to ride, just not super comfortable for longer rides. I’m also a short rider, 28” inseam for me too 😎, so it wasn’t so tall that I worried about it. I may try out an MT-09 at some point. Good video!

I like the MT-07 but I would not be able to ride one due to the soft stock suspension. Suspension is the most important thing for me since I like handling more than power. With that being said I bought a 2023 Kawasaki Z900 and am very impressed with the handling and the value of the bike. My bike take aways from sitting on the Z900 the first time was that I sit IN the bike and not ON it. The Z900 also has plenty of power since it has a 948cc I4. I had a FJ-09 with is the touring version of the MT-09 and hated it due to the super soft suspension, it was borderline dangerous going around curves and even passing 18 wheelers at highway speeds. The drone from that center exit exhaust makes it terrible just like my FJ-09 did. My Z900 exhaust comes out the back and is straight through and is liveable. Kawasaki has also had $1000 off lately so that helps a lot. I will stop rambling on now, just figured I would put my 2 cents in since naked bikes are my favorite. Oh and the wind isn't bad on the Z900.

The MT07 is a good bike...the ones here in NZ come with a little screen and in two versions... power limited for learners and full power model. They are very popular and have been for some years. The srock exhaust is much quieter, and in stock trim I think you'd like it more than the one you hired... The CF Motos are cheaper for a reason.oi won't get the build quality, finish or durability of the Yamaha, or any Japanese bike.

I ride a 2016 Harley-Davidson Streetglide and its done 42 000 miles now and I am never going to sell it, I have been riding Harleys for the last 30 years and have had them all but the street glide is the best. I wanted to get a bike just to get out and ride without the weight so I bought a 2016 MT 03 Then sold it and got a 2020 Z650 kowasackie sold that bought a 2008 Triumph Speed master 865, that was just like a Sportster 883. Out of them all the MT 03 was the best so I have just bought another one, Its a 2017 and only done 515 miles from new,Its like a new bike and I love it Dead light and goes well Not dead fast but goes well 100mph Good videos You dont need to buy new there are lots of second head ones out there.

Having watched the videos it seems that the shortlist so far is the 450SS and the MT-07 which is a lot of range in CCs. I say this based on your reaction in the videos and I think those two bikes both fit you really well for your size and they both got your attention for lack of a better word, would you say this is accurate? Not that I am trying to tell you what to do with your channel but wheelies no, you on a grom being a hooligan 💖

I was wondering if you looked into the Triumph Speed Twin, I feel that you would like that bike. It's light fun and plenty of after market party favors to make that sing the a street devil. I am 6'5" and it was my first bike I got after coming off a 2017 Road Glide. If your still in the market check it out, 1200 cc smooth decent power band for the city, it's a little go getter. nice to tool around town or hit the back roads. If you want some naked bike power then check out the Aprilia Tuono 660, you can tune it up put a pipe on it and just grip and rip it.

She'll be fine on the MT with the stock gauge cover instead of the metal Aftermarket one, unless she puts a full on screen on it. Only then will it force air to smack her face with turbulence. Same for my MT10, wanted a nice screen so air would just flow over my helmet and i'd have a nice pocket to sit in, instead it just funnelled it directly into my face. With no screen it's no issue either.
