Check out Ryan Villopoto dominate the inaugural Monster Energy Cup! This is the first ever Monster energy Cup that took place in Las Vegas in October 2011. What a great mid off season race as fans wish the Pro Motocross season didn't end and the Supercross season would begin. Villopoto had a great year in 2011 winning both the Supercross and Motocross championships. He looked to cap of his best year to date by winning all three main events at the MEC and taking home 1 Million dollars! And that he did! Other rider include Ryan Dungey, Eli Tomac, Ben Townley, Mike Alessi and many more. Dont miss the action, This is the Time Ryan Villopoto Won 1 Million Dollars. #Supercross #Motocross #RyanVillopoto

Won a million after winning the supercross championship, after winning the outdoor motocross championship, after leading team U.S.A. to the nation's Victory and after getting married but before the honeymoon. A year I'm sure this dude will never forget!

Mike alessis career summed up into one race was that last race where he beat everybody to the hole shot by a mile then slowly made his way to the back, letting his emotions distract him from actually winning and just trying to run people off the track lmao it’s a shame that he was so fast when he was younger than everything just flipped like a switch.

think his dad really had a lot to do with that tbh… You ever remember or watched those beyond the gate shows? his dad was a true pusher and did nothing but yell n scream lol and a lot of people start losing the fun factor keeping their dads around

@@claterrberseker9340 yeah his family definitely all had problems and it all started with the dad, they’re cursed if anything. Also mike would constantly race faster than his abilities allowed, he’s actually one of the fastest people on a bike but he could never keep himself on it😂

Man, this era was THE era for me! 19-20 years old, riding every weekend with friends and watching Villopoto and Dungey clips on youtube for motivation. Did everything I could to get to watch the supercross races every weekend witch was not avalible here in Sweden at the time. 31 now, have not seen a motocross bike for 3 years. Miss those days!

And to think the 800 dominated RV in the amateure ranks. I truly believe it was the mental aspect that really made the difference. It was easy to see the talent of the 800. When he showed up on a 450 his first year and ran out front in MX was remarkable to see. The best hole shot rider in the game...... I think his family was his biggest problem. And big CRASHES. RV family issues motivated him and the 800's brought him down.

Amateur races are much shorter so being a holeshot machine is much more important than in the pros. Mike also had an insane amount of support, very similar to Cianciarilo's amateur support. But you're right in that the Alessis ruined Mike. RV cut ties with his family very early in his career where as Mike let his family influence his career too much.

Psh....easy now. But, I do think Villapoto is the best supercross racer of the 4stroke era. Outdoors is all Ricky. Nobody could touch him outdoors. He had to have an off day for someone else to win. Even then he'd get 2nd so it's not like it was really an off day. But Ricky had 2 perfect outdoor seasons & 2 one moto loss seasons (still overalled). That's like 4 years of winning every race every moto outdoors. It's even more impressive because outdoors has 2 motos which means so much more racing & to still come out on top. Absolutely incredible. The season Ricky retired, he was undefeated when he quit. Nobody would've bested Ricky outdoors. Even James couldn't handle Ricky's pace outdoors. Lawn darted himself trying. Very few times did James get a win over Ricky outdoors. A few of those were Ricky making a mistake. The difference was James was fast enough where if Ricky made a mistake, it was harder to make up the time for it. Villapoto, would be like James. If Ricky made a ny mistakes, it would be a lot more difficult to make up for those with RV. That's assuming RV didn't make any mistakes & Ricky did. RV was fun to watch. Especially outdoors when riding the 250 class.

he’s probably not a bad dude nowadays, but back in his monster energy Kawi days he was such a dick dude, would sign your autograph only at the tent and if you tried talking to him he would barely acknowledge you, and if you tried getting an autograph anywhere else like at the local track (i live in CA so as a kid i’d see him sometimes) forget about it lol… Again sure he’s not like that anymore, but i’ve also seen worse stories than my own from people on youtube from back then.
