Dude, I just learned that the actor who played Chief Henry, Dehl Berti, died about one year after this aired. And this episode was his last appearance on television. WHAT DID ZACK MORRIS DO TO HIM???

Jesse's presentation wasn't even racist. Her ancestors were racist. She's owning up to the negative aspects of her ancestry. Zack is treating his ancestry as a joke, speaking in crude stereotypes, and did zero research on anything.

Please do a segment on the College Years episode when Zack got upset at Slater for choosing a particular weekend to protest for Chicano rights. He berated Slater for choosing that weekend to "become a Chicano." That was the episode that made me realize Zack was sus.

I used to watch this show years ago and I always thought Zack was a jerk back then.

Even though jessie went before zack and admitted her family used to traffick slaves, right after Lisa admitted her family used to be slaves. Zack has the most offensive and shocking presentation of the day by a mile

Holy shit. The reason I love this series is because it does a really good job at highlighting how a fairly large amount of humor and plotlines from kids shows in the 90s really haven't aged well and from time to time actually do cross some pretty significant lines. Yet all my childhood memories of seeing them when they aired are nothing but wholesome innocent fun... EXCEPT THIS ONE. I grew up in a town called Ledyard in Connecticut. If you do any basic surface level googling on it you are almost guaranteed to be presented with the fact that it is basically sandwiched in between the two biggest native American Tribal reservations on the east coast of America. The Mohegan tribe And the Mashantucket Pequot tribe. If you have ever wondered why the 2 biggest casinos in North America are both in CT within 15 minutes driving distance of each other that is why. Both tribes are amazing wonderful beautiful communities with an authenticity to their respective cultures that is rarely seen in modern tribal communities. We are VERY proud of both of them. It is a pride felt by the whole town regardless of individual race religion or cultural background. We are just genuinely honored to live in a town with not just one but 2 massively important tribes and their respective cultures. Growing up I never knew a world where it was acceptable to use the term Indian instead of Native or tribal. We went to the Pequot Museum and annual Powwows. We are proud of their astronomical success as a historically oppressed people. Every sports, arts or musical program in every school is at least partially funded by them. So yeah... I always knew this episode ad unacceptable, insensitive Racist trash. Trash for sure.b

The second presentation I think is less the Zack character's fault and more to do with the culture of the times judging by how the scene seemed to be intending to show that Zack had learned his lesson, but some of us millennials I guess might look at that and be like, "He learned nothing. Still disrespecting his ancestors...if they're legitimately even Native American at all." lol. Also I'm a bit bothered that the writers decided to make him part Native American instead of part Indonesian/Asian which is what the actor was genuinely mixed with. I think heritage projects in school are bullshit though. It made kids less tolerant of each other (and even some mixed kids got told they were lying) at my school. Also, I've never really seen Saved By the Bell before since it was just a few years before my time.

Who sings the "Zach Morris is Trash" tune? It makes me laugh EVERY time. I am so glad I found this channel. All thanks to "Cobra Kai". The "Wax on, Fuck off" with Ralph Macchio came up in my recommended for you section. That skit is beyond hilarious. I have watched it like 20 times. He cuts baking powder into a smiley face with a godamn Petco card 😄-brilliant.

I've watched seven of these so far and you've been pretty spot-on. Zack Morris was really a creep on this show. Gonna have to disagree with you a little-bit on this one though. People throw the term "racism" around too loosely nowadays which in my opinion trivializes *ACTUAL* racism. Zack literally had no idea what he was doing here. Arrogant? Sure. Ignorant? Absolutely. Selfish? Agreed. A little out of touch with reality? Possibly. Racist? Not at all. That's carrying it a little too far. To be honest, you could take any and every situation of everyone's life and break it down the same way and come to the same conclusions.
