I guess I just want somewhere to share my story. When I was 19 I took shrooms, and it was like I was turned inside out. As a child, I was very extroverted and loved being around people. And after the shrooms, I felt disconnected from everyone and everything around me. I just wanted to alone. I am learning to feel happiness from within myself, not running from myself. It's been a LONG and PAINFUL process but once it's healed, it's healed and beautiful.

As someone who was born and raised in and around Denton Texas, its wild to know how much the psychedelic world has a grip on the area. I was introduced to them at a younger age and it makes sense as to why now. Great art school and great psychedelics here.

I used to work for that guy (Alfred) at his incense factory in Taos. People called him "the bad shaman," no surprise to me that he was lying.

I know Ken and he was always kind to me. I respected Ken’s life. I took my mother, a 60s Hippie, to visit Ken at Rainbow Valley. My mom ran up to Ken and gave him the biggest hug and thanked him. Ken gave me a pamphlet. I visited him a lot.

Wow.. time goes by SOOO fast.. there ken was in 83 as a young guy living his life.. jump ahead to 2019 and he has Parkinson's. It's crazy how life just flies by. I remember being 14 years old and just turned 29. I can see how you come out of day to day living and be 60 years old. My mom who grew up in the 80's always talks about how fast life goes by. Before you know it... It's over.

This guy has taken his Hippy image seriously has gone full blown went from curious nerd to drug mastermind!

Loved the series, hope Hamilton continue to share his journy. This is fascinating on every level and in my eyes, hallucinigens play a vital role in the human history.

I'm not into psychedelics but completely understand those who are. I also understand how psychedelics get a bad rep from people who don't understand them saying that they will change a person for the worse. The saddest part about this is knowing people who don't understand psychedelics are thinking that Ken's mind was going from drugs when the reality is that what we witnessed was someone's soul fighting through their eyes to communicate like how they could before their Parkinsons took over.

The use of magic mushrooms completely helps one get over depression and makes you feel like yourself .

hunted for Bufo Marinas "Marine Toads" in the early 80's around the Tarpon Springs area..they were everywhere even then ..and still are there in huge numbers affecting dogs and such not sure if the same as the Sonoran Desert var.

I’ve been traveling through Mexico for the past two weeks, and few days ago in Oaxaca I met a medicine woman who I started talking to about a recent traumatic event in my life, I had told her that all the therapy, yoga and ecstatic dance classes could not heal the emotional pain I kept experiencing. So she offered to take me on a journey through a series of spiritual cleansing practices that included a temazcal, meditation, biomagnetic healing, and a Bufo ceremony. Not knowing much about Bufo except for what I was told is a sacred medicine to her people, I agreed to try it, knowing that I was in safe hands (I had also seen the Netflix Fantastic Fungi documentary and am interested in the power of psychedelics in healing trauma). After preparing myself I met my spiritual shaman who would be there to guide me on my journey, and proceeded to set my intentions and take a few more calming breaths before smoking a full pipe of the medicine. So here goes… It was the most powerful visceral trip I have ever experienced. I went traveling to multiple other dimensions and back, and could see the entire universe and the beautiful expanse of it all. I could see the fabric of life and nature and how we are all connected. I saw love. I saw life and death, and came out on the other side reborn, and when I did I saw my mother’s face vividly in all her beauty… and that was just a fraction of what I have been able to comprehend. Extremely intense and emotional, a million times more than anything I’ve ever experienced in my life. I was quite emotional after seeing all this and cried a lot afterwards. It was incredible and has given me a lot to reflect on and think about, which I am still digesting, but I believe it has really changed my perspective on life in a positive way. Has it healed my pain and trauma? Only time will tell I guess. I do not recommend this medicine to the faint of heart, but if you have experience with psychedelic medicines and you have respect for their healing powers, go into it with an open heart and mind, and you might come out a changed person. The correct species name is Incilius alvarius, "Bufo" is the outdated genus name after molecular data showed that the Colorado River toad is actually separate from other toads it was grouped with before. It is in the Bufonidae family and is the only species with large enough quantities of the bufotenin toxin that can be harvested.
