I've been watching your channel from the beginning, and I think this is one of the first videos wherein you haven't mentioned the nettles. You've put in so much work, and your plot has come so far. For some reason, adding the bird feeder makes it seem like you've finally settled in. It's genuinely really inspiring to see you crack on with your work in spite of the difficult start, and I hope you have a fruitful summer ahead. Thank you for sharing your garden with us. 💖

Suggest you plant tomatoes much deeper...all the way to the first leaf...stems will root and provide a better base for the plant...Google and read all about it :). I enjoy your channel and watching you work so hard to establish your allotment!! Good work!

I love your happiness with the birds. I'm the same way. I need to move my bird feeder to a different spot because no birds have gone to it where I put it initially. I figured that spot would be a problem for me. I love the pink shade of your pots that you've painted. It's absolutely beautiful. Your garden is more beautiful by the "day".

Those holes in the pots look perfect for holding the stakes, but they're actually the drainage holes! For self watering pots, the drainage hole is up high so that *some* water pools in the bottom but if it gets *too* soggy the water can drain out there... only problem is you've now plugged them with the stakes 🙃🙈

Don't worry Seren ☺. The ground feeding birds, dunnock, blackbirds will clean up the mess on the floor. Also make sure to tie the feeder on if you think there are squirrels 🐿 about, they'll steal it. Sending love and light 🌻🌺🌾🌱 xx

Your garden is coming along Seren…yay 👏🏽👏🏽 I’ve read somewhere that if you want your onions to bulb out just fold over the green stems in half, it triggers for the onion to concentrate on the bulb 🧅, rather than producing leafy green. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ Worth a try. 😎

I out a list of seeds I’m interested in on my Christmas Wish list. My daughter then goes online and buys from a small seed company called Real Seeds(based in Wales I think). They are open pollinated seeds, also they have a good range of ‘unusual’/heirloom varieties which I like to try. From my usual long list she chooses half a dozen that she fancies eating after I’ve grown them! Sometimes it’s the name or even the colour of the seed that takes her fancy! Generally you only get a ‘few’ seeds but at a very good price. Let’s face it, no one needs 100 tomato seeds in a packet! Anyway, I grew a yellow/orange plum type tomato last year (called Orange Banana or something similar). It grew exceptionally well outside on a south facing wall in a bed only 9inches wide! And it tasted wonderful. So this year it’s a tomato year! She bought me 6 different varieties with names like Purple Ukraine, Feo De Riogordo, Jen’s Tangerine, Blue Fire, Black Cherry and one other - (can’t remember the name). I am awash with tomato seedlings but not one of them is a red one!

You could try using plastic domes over seedlings you plant out to keep the slugs away. At least at the beginning and then eventually remove them. The domes can be anything that’s clear plastic. I save supermarket cake containers and use the top part. These also act as mini-greenhouses. I usually make a few holes in the top so they don’t get too hot and water can get in.

I have watched every episode of your channel so far, and I am not a garden person. (I'm too afraid of snakes to do anything remotely like garden. I once freaked out over a very scary nightcrawler. LOL) Anyhow, what I love about your channel (aside from your lovely personality) is that you saw this plot in ruins, could see its potential, and then set out to make it happen. And you didn't do it by buying loads of new items, you used what you had available and bought things as necessary. I completely applaud your efforts, it looks amazing.

Just a thought love! Putting down a black tarp across the floor of the green house, especially with the pots to press it firmly down, should kill off weeds! They cant live without sunlight forever and exhaust themselves to death under the plastic, and it saves you having to pull anything up :) Marestail's best friend is sunlight, that's why its thriving in the glass greenhouse :)

Growing up (in the northwest USA), my dad would stock our feeder with a mixed birdseed. The English Sparrows would rummage through for the millet, which they preferred, and scatter all the sunflower seeds into the lawn. So yeah, birds can be messy eaters.

Hi Auto Tray Quick-Clean Seed Tray The perfect accessory for Aspects 2 3/4 inch diameter Quick-Clean feeders! Tray catches falling seeds and reduces debris underneath feeders. Enjoy feeding and watching birds while preventing unwanted pests from eating the seed with the Clear WoodLink Hanging Squirrel Baffle. Hoop Seed Catcher & Platform Feeder , Wild Bird Seed is a distinctive bird seed, specifically designed to deter squirrels from feeding at your bird feeder. This bird seed is treated with expertly formulated hot pepper sauce, making it unappetizing to squirrels but still nourishing for birds. It's a thoughtful approach to keeping your feathered friends fed and your yard free from squirrels. According to some widely circulating advice, they can be disinvited to the party by placing crushed eggshells around plants. The rationale is that crawling over the sharp edges will deter an invasion.

Your garden is looking amazing! (Just a few suggestions) The greenhouse will get too hot for the tomato plants and most other plants without proper ventilation. I've had to install 2 fans inside my small greenhouse (one to bring cool air in and another to push hot air out) and also had to remove 2 of the side panels so the summer heat doesn't cook my plants. Tomato's love love love calcium supplement also which prevents bloom rot from the bottoms of the tomato fruit. You can tell if they start getting bloom rot because the bottom of the tomato will turn black and is a sign of calcium deficiency in the soil. Looking forward to seeing how your beautiful allotment plot progresses! You've done so much in a short amount of time!

Great place for the bird feeder, especially when your in the greenhouse or sat in your soon to be seating area. This time of the year becomes a bit overwhelming with everything to do. It might worth investing in some form of shading for the greenhouse to help with temperatures (I use 2 blinds that use suction cups to attach to the window) had mine for 5 years and just replaced the suction cups. Much easier than the shade paint.
