I don’t doubt that there are unscrupulous folk selling products that are not what they seem. However, if someone buys a spool of Cardas wire from a reputable source and uses it to put together a kit for rewiring then they could reasonably describe it as a Cardas rewiring kit. That doesn’t make it any more suitable as a material, of course. I’m grateful for your video as it’s finally put to bed my musings over what is the most suitable wire for tonearms. I use Mogami copper in my system for interconnects and find it much better than the silver plated cable I was previously using from a famous name company. Good luck with your channel.

Thanks for you comment. However, you missed an important detail from Cardas email, they manufacture BARE wires, not woven and not insulated. Unless the dealer had the facilities for woven and insulate the wires, most unlikely, he cannot manufacture the final product. This makes the whole affair a scam. Many famous name are made by the dealers that sell these wires at high price, like Kondo silver wires sold for 250£ for less than one metre of thin wire, Kondo does not exist in Japan or elsewhere, no website, they are not registered in the Japanese chamber of commerce. Hi Victor I must disappoint you, but Cardas does not, and never did, manufacture rewiring kits for tonearms. They have a line of Mdin-terminated cables instead. The 'incognito' rewire is not manufactured by Cardas and there is no guaranty that there are Cardas wires inside visit or contact Cardas if in doubt. In the HiFi market there are too many BS teller that are borderline, or often straight into, scam or fraud. Here what Josh from Cardas wrote to me time ago: 'What often happens is that people buy our connectors, such as our cartridge clips and/or our DIN connectors, and then attach them to wire from another source. Then they very conspicuously (and somewhat misleadingly) use our name in their listing, in an effort to get clicks. Since they are using Cardas connectors, eBay does not consider this to be a trademark violation' Mark
