I found your videos in the last few weeks and have been binge watching them. Thanks for the great content! I'd love for you to do a video about Milwaukee hand tools. I know you've had good things to say in previous videos about their adjustable wrenches, combination wrenches (briefly), and sockets (briefly). I've seen a lot of people online say that Milwaukee power tools are awesome but their hand tools suck, but you seem to really like the hand tools, so it'd be great to hear more about that.

9:44 I agree with you on the rubber handle on channellock wrenches. I have one without the rubber and it's my go to adjustable wrench, but the rubber ruins the whole wrench. On the other hand, Channellock code blue SCREWDRIVER handles are tier 1 in my book, but you can hardly find the old ones with a strike cap on the end. I've dropped a few videos you may want to catch up on. Certain shout out finally occured. 😉 Keep up the excellent content!

It's super easy to swap out a wooden handle. Next time you see a cool hammer at an estate sale and the handle is botched, negotiate, bring it home, order a new hickory handle, swap it out. I did that with my grandpa's gasket hammer with a cracked handle and now it's a true heirloom.

I just love your perspective on tools because I've had similar experiences with stuff. The way you articulate the reasons for why you like a certain tool is why you have a great following. I think you and I are in the Acetate Handle Brotherhood haha. Most of my work is automotive so grease is always a concern. I also need to rehandle a old Plumb ball peen, I got a good wooden handle for it but will probably sand it a little. On a side note, I've never seen a US company get as much hate as Snap-on for their tools that they make in-house, when Mac and Matco have the same business model. I agree with your take, I think the quality is still there.

I love the Vaughan wood handles on the ball peen hammers especially on the lighter hammers they’re great. I also have the Milwaukee wrenches and they are extremely comfortable! That was the first thing I noticed when I grabbed them. I do go to my tekton ratcheting wrenches a lot of times but when using a normal wrench they’re the go to for me.

Great line up. I agree with Kliens. I like their double dipped and single dipped tools, theyre "Journeyman" grips are sorry. Knipex comfort grips are the best ive used. Best handles of screwdrivers i'd say is probably Wiha soft grip series they fit very well in the palm and the machining of the tips are best ive used. Out of the package i was able to retain a phillips head screw on a ph #2 almost facing the ground. Ill have to check out Vaco drivers. I currently have a Picquic 8 plus on the way so we'll see how that goes.

I don’t hate the Klein journeyman, but much prefer the dipped. I agree that knipex comfort grip is the best comfort grip, and I also like Wiha screwdriver handles. My insulated screwdrivers are Wiha and they are super comfortable. I have a picquic that I have enjoyed. It’s a good design.

If you don’t like tacky feeling “rubber” grips you should still try them on the professional brands if you can afford them. Which clearly you have a snap on already. They don’t ever really get tacky and hold up to solvents. The only issue I have with them with hard everyday use they will eventually breakdown and gwt beat up. They last a long time but it’s still an issue. You can warranty the grips. The bahco adjustable you have is a good example of that. Same with the wera.

For hammers I only do hickory, and if I'm buying new it's Vaughan & Bushnell ( I'm not as picky with vintage hammers, but V&B is my favorite and buy the vintage too ). hickory can be replaced, shaped/ profiled as desired, and nothing compares in Shock absorbtion no matter how hard they try to reinvent the wheel. I hate all steel hammers due to shock, and the grips blister my hands. I agree on the adjustable wrenches the Weatern forge made adjustables and last US made Crescents had the thick wide handles. For pliers I am a Channellock guy but the grips are something that I'm indifferent towards, I don't love or hate them. I only have the 44acf that I carry in my pocket ( aside from the vacuum grip needle nose from my grandfather) but the Snapon plier grips are definitely the best, I don't care enough to buy a lot of their pliers but their grips are the best. For ratchets my absolute favorite is the WRIGHT tool contour grip, you wouldn't like it but it's my absolute favorite. For screwdrivers, my favorite so far are the Stanley 100 plus and the Tekton hard handles ( shanks from WILDE, handles from another American manufacturer). I can't really stand the classic WF Craftsman handles, because a number of them have an undersized handle relative to the driver size. You should check out the old PROTO yellow handles ( not the current ones ) they are 4 sided. Urrea in Mexico still makes a copy of them ( Urrea used to be PROTOMEX ). I only have 1 that my grandfather probably found at the flea market, if I had a whole set they could possibly be my favorite. Pliers are the only tool I like with rubber or comfort grip types. Otherwise I like smooth/ hard handles and of course a good properly sized knurled ratchet grip is great.

I need to get me some of the smaller size snap on like 44acf. I bet those are great. Tekton hard handle screwdrivers are really nice too I agree. There’s so much to consider 😂 we might have to do a part 2

With you on rubber grips. Not a fan. I like my M12 tool handles, how they feel in the hand. They look like crap after use. Started using Houdini lock lube to clean them. Helps a lot. Stuff even fixed the circ saw trigger and cleaned up hackzall blade retainer (wet pvc and sawdust really cake themselves in ) Stuff cleans contacts. Cleans off oil. Nice citrus odor. Wera chisel screwdrivers. Screwdriver designed as a pry bar and beater Dipped pliers are good. I find the snap on foam kind of weird actually Knipex has a god dip I like solid metal ratchet handles. 1/4 inch drive needs a thumb wheel. That little icon bit driver is now my favorite 1/4 drive I’ve said it before comfort grips are the opposite. Terrible, they look like they should be nice.

DeWalt handles are definitely good but you at least gotta pick up a Makita and give it a feel at Home Depot sometime, if you havent. To me they win out. Combo wrenches i will say i cannot stand raised panels. Just nope. Beyond that i know the Wright has a nice thick beam with rounded edges that feels great but they arent the only ones. I just prefer not being able to shave with them like those Husky singles at the big orange. As for adjustables my Lobtex have reasonably thick handles but I don't think they're Armstrong thick, the plastic dip does help though. The last iteration of Channellock screwdrivers were great. Square acetate, feels good. The new ones are meh. I think they're rebrands of Mayhew since they just came out with some US-made ones, the shape doesnt do it for me and they didnt bother doing a good job taking off the flashing from the mold either which is just disappointing. The Wiha SoftFinish are also nice but the big drivers get a little too big on the bulb end for me. Not sure how i feel about the rubber on Kleins but they do have some grip to them for sure. As for pliers I'm surprisingly agnostic, as long as the shape is ergonomic. The Swanstrom nippers at work are double dip in that foamy kinda stuff which if you're using them sometimes literally thousands of times per day in a 12 hour shift I appreciate it but they feel a little too bulky. I think its the specific handle shape too because you want your hand further from the fulcrum for leverage but they're quite spread out by that point, if they did like Tsunoda does on theirs with the curved handles they'd be excellent.

@@realworldtoolreviews I forgot to mention ratchet handle! The modern Craftsman ones where it borrows some design cues from the classic raised panel handle but without being a raised panel ain't bad at all. Round chromes all just feel eh, they work, no strong opinion so far. Wright contour grip handles are nice though, I guess I just like stuff that isn't just a perfectly round thing. The Craftsman are more like ovals and the Wright are kinda rounded squares.
