If they have har tru courts, and such great facilities ( are awesome), I wonder why they do not push the students to play more on it!, to learn real tennis!, not only new american style, great serve and hit the winner at the first shot. They have to learn patience, different shots, strategy, not only hit hard. That is the reason USA tennis is so bad in this days.

Went to Weil last summer, probably improved more in 2 weeks than I had in 6 months at my local clinic, the people that go there are top players in their age group, and one of the coaches had played with players like Nadal, Monfils, and also had the ability to easily be in the top 100 in his prime, so those guys know what they are doing.

Thanks for the list. Only had first hand experience with Gorin juniors. They clearly have a system of ‘gamesmanship’ used by their players to gain unsportsmanlike advantage(same tactics can be observed from players from different Gorin factions). One of our students went there for the summer and experienced allot of anger from peers and almost no attention from coaches. That was the review I heard from other California Pros as well. Kids are usually good need better leadership.

Just so you know guys. If you're ready to pay 40/year for an academy that means you can afford going to college. The real deal is that if you're really good you're really good you're spotted and get all of this for free because you're these academies publicity and I can guarantee you that someone lile sharapova did not pay to attend bollittieri's academy nor did the wiiliams. You'd vetter have a father teahcing you how to play tennis if you want to get there for free.

Good video but two things: 1. Where’s Rick Macci Tennis Academy? And 2. Austin Tennis Academy is the most famous in Texas? Have you heard of John Newcombe’s Tennis Ranch? I was a teaching pro at Gorin Academy, Saddlebrook and John Newcombe’s Tennis Academy. They all have their strengths. I would have worked at IMG but they paid about half as much as Saddlebrook. Good video though. Thanks for posting.

IMG is truly great accept for the most important aspect of their operation, the food they serve. Pizza , hot dogs , white sugar breads , and tons and tons of sugar drinks like Gatorade are everywhere. Safe to say that this school , not unlike most public schools around the country, have sold themselves out to the corporations.

Tennis is rich people game even though champions are born out of natural skill, passion and hunger. A Lot of top level tennis in America like fritz(Macy's grandson) and pegula(buffalo's bills daughter) receive huge amount of training but they lack 3 things. You don't need an academy to be great but do need great coach and family.

@@mytennishqtv8696 What is the criteria for determining this list?
@mytennishqtv8696
@mytennishqtv8696 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Matthew - obviously both the Macci Academy and Rick Macci are incredibly competent and successful over the years. It can be very difficult to rank academies since there are so many factors to consider and rating them is very subjective, so the fact that it didn't make it into OUR list doesn't mean that it wasn't or will be at some point, and it doesn't mean that it is not in someone else's top 10 list. We tried to rank them based on several different criteria that included costs, infrastructure, alumni success, location, our own perception of the academies, and overall online player reviews. Hope that clarifies it!

Hi Tennis HQ currently am still stuck in a Africa finishing up Software Engineering Course my Dream is to play tennis am 19 years not the best in my Country but it always Hurts when you see tennis players playing on TV 📺 & evryone says I have a good technique though I need alot to improve on personally but am Ready for the Work 🎾 Now to my question I heard Canada is favourable to Immigrants to play Tennis I also can't afford alot of money to play tennis but an willing to Invest in myself no matter the stakes do you happen to know any Tennis Academies that would fit me I was looking at playing Challengers & many more tournaments to improve on my Match mentality I can't think of United States because it's expensive that's why I was thinking of Canada maybe if you knew any other Academies could you help🙏🏼 Assist me on how things work I finish my final exams in December & was opting to leave my Country to play tennis I also don't mind shifting Nationality tooo as long as I can live my tennis Dream which is not easy but am ready to put in the work 🎾💪 like I said 🥺

If you're doing a software engineering course, I would have to guess about your age. You are probably not 12 or under? That would be about the latest I would suggest a person could make a serious run at being a pro. By way of comparison, look at the top pro's, and you will see most of them started much younger, and by the age of 12 or so, have already had a few thousand hours of court time behind them. If you are determined to go for it, fine, give it a go. I'd suggest you save your money though, and try a European facility. I can recommend you a number of places in the UK where you pay an annual membership of under £200, and then court time is free. You can play as much as you like to begin with (depending on court availability - one place I'm thinking of has 9 courts, and mon-fri is generally easy to get on court from 9am - 3pm), and they have professional coaches. I would say your best bet is to get a solid basis after a lot of practise, and once you feel like you're ready (you may already be there), start increasing your weekly time on court. You would probably want 10-15 hours a week on court before taking things to the next level.

I have to jump right in and say I'm very surprised at not seeing Rick Macci here. That may be due to the subjective nature of how you ranked the academies. But given the Williams success (GOAT?), and the other players trained there (Capriati, Roddick, etc), this seems, on the surface at least, quite a strange list. Especially when looking at some of the facilities of the other top ten academies thjat have courts looking like they're all beaten up. The Gorin courts at 2:24 in particular look terrible. Also, saying that some players have "practised" there; what does that mean? What is that worth in the whole scheme of things? How is that relevant to the everyday grind of developing a kid, analysing and correcting their technique, helping them with strength and fitness, getting some sports psychology as and when needed, and how does having a "visiting" player assist with a trainees journey to tournaments, and having coaching support? I'm just very surprised at the content and focus of this video. Apologies if this comes across as critical; I usually love the THQ content from Karue. And speaking of which, I know Karue has his own academy that he runs; where would that be in the whole scheme of things?
@mytennishqtv8696

Hi there! Thanks for the thoughtful comment. I think you make very good points - we tried ranking the academies to the best of our abilities, and as you mentioned ultimately it’s very subjective. While Rick Macci is a fantastic academy and would probably make others’ top 10 rankings, we decided to only include the 10 in the video. As per Karue’s Tier 1 Academy, we decided to not include it in here as it would be too much of a bias. Lastly, please note that this is our new channel, My Tennis HQ TV, which will be focused on a somewhat different type of content than what you’re likely used to seeing on My Tennis HQ. Hope that helps and thanks for your support!
