Unfortunately they can’t do the Buzz like we had before in minor league baseball. Georgia Tech University’s mascot is named Buzz. They sued the Salt Lake Buzz and won the court case. So Salt Lake had to change the name. They used the Stinger name for a while before renaming again to the Bee’s which was used for an SLC team decades ago.

The Utah Hive would be such a fitting name for the team. Although I think Stingers or Swarm would be a bit more simplistic name to go with in terms of marketing, calling the team the Hive would reflect not only the unity between the team and its fans but also how both come together to create the franchise's identity whether on or off the ice. Bees work together for numerous reasons such as bridging gaps and Utah is known for being the Beehive State. Truthfully, I think it would symbolize the strength in numbers of how similar a sports franchise/fanbase is to a beehive in terms of how it operates and functions over time.

Ya, not a fan of the bee names. Let’s lean into the winter sports. Blizzard or yeti would be dope. If not, country names are a close second. Outlaws, wranglers, etc

Bees are social, highly organized & industrious. They symbolize the cooperative work required to make the desert bloom. They are willing to DIE to defend the hive. The Utah Stingers gets my vote!

Best list I have seen so far. I like the Utah Hive. It just sounds fun and it ties in to the bee theme that has been popular in minor league baseball there and the Beehive State moniker. Stingers works in the same way. I also like some of the ones you mentioned.

The Utah Raptors does sound pretty good. I’d call them the Utah Skinwalkers, the Utah Copperheads like the DC villain, the Utah Silverado, or Utah No Jutsu.

The salt lake city move actually makes sense & phoenix still has the suns, diamondbacks & cardinals. Salt lake city has wanted another pro sports team for awhile & utah is known for winter sports & it's winters. Hockey's a perfect fit for places like salt lake city, ut & portland, or. #IJS

They can't be called the Coyotes. There is a clause that allows Arizona to retain the Coyotes name and get an "expansion team", if they get an arena deal done in the next 5 years. Some of the underrated favorites that I've heard: Salt Lake Sentinels, Utah Monuments, and Salt Lake Sidewinders.

1) AZ still owns Coyotes' name. UT just got the assets. 2) Already an ECHL team name Utah Grizzlies. 3) Already a Utah PL baseball team named Ogden Raptors. 4) That Outlaws logo is outdated. Much better ones now. The idea is based on hundreds of Westerns filmed in Kanab, UT, etc. Plus, Butch Cassidy hid in UT for decades. 5) Salt Lake Golden Eagles is the original CHL team back in the 70's and 80's. A good name, but there's better ones. That and Ryan Smith wants it to be Utah in the name.

It’s not gonna be Coyotes cause the NHL is apparently still interested in making hockey in Arizona a thing so the current owner is rumored to be keeping the name and logo with the promise the league will come back with an expansion version of the Coyotes if he can win that land auction

Colorado has already used a yeti foot in their branding though even though they don't use it on their current uniforms... i'm not crazy on any of the names i've heard but i kinda like something to do with bees, if not then a rebranded coyotes would be ok, and lastly the blizzard would suffice
