First time when I visited Palermo with my partner we stayed around Ballaro market which was amazing, interesting and very close to the sights of Palermo. Next time I visited alone as a solo female traveller I stayed at Politeama area and I loved it! Listen to this ragazzo everything he says it's correct 😃

Thanks so much for posting these videos! They are extremely helpful! I am planning to visit Palermo this winter. I am wondering is it okay to come in December? Will restaurants and stores be open? Do you recommend any day trip from Palermo in winter? I really appreciate it! Thank you

Ciao Linda, I'm glad you found the videos helpful! Visiting Palermo in December is absolutely fine. Restaurants and stores will be open, and the city will be lively, especially during the holiday season. Just keep in mind that the Mondello beach area might not be as active during the winter months, particularly at night. However, if you happen to catch a sunny day, you might still see people enjoying the beach on winter weekends

Wow Nico! I love all your videos! I will be retry to Palermo after 40 years! We are looking at the Politeama Luxury Suites. I know it is not in your list but do you have any “local” insight on this hotel? I appreciate your help!

Ciao! It's great to hear you're heading back to Palermo after 40 years - the city has definitely changed a lot. About the Politeama Luxury Suites, I've never personally stayed there, but I've heard some positive things about it. Location-wise, it's spot on. It's close to the Politeama Theater, and if you're up for a bit of a walk, you can get to Teatro Massimo in about 10 minutes. That's where the historical city center begins. From there, it's only another 10 minutes to the Quattro Canti, which is like the heart of the old town. To get the best experience, I suggest walking along Via E. Amari, then heading to Piazza Castelnuovo, and taking Via Ruggero Settimo until you reach Teatro Massimo. These are all pedestrian streets and make for a really pleasant walk. It's honestly the best way to soak in the vibe of Palermo. Just a heads-up, the area around the B&B is pretty safe, but I'd avoid the back of the building at night, where the Borgo Vecchio market is. It might be interesting during the day, but at night, it's not exactly the best crowd. Hope this helps, and have an amazing trip!

Just came back from Sicily and loved it. Palermo is raw, vibrant and historical. Everywhere was packed at night, and this was early May. The hotel is right in the middle of everything with a great outdoor rooftop terrace. I'm sure your father will enjoy.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! As for Alle Antiche Mura di Ballarò, you'll be in a safe area, so no worries. You'll be close to the Ballarò market, yet far enough from its main streets. Since you're in the historic center, some streets might not be very well-lit, but there's no need to worry. Just take the regular precautions you would take anywhere else, and enjoy the city without fear. You'll be just fine! ;)

Grazie mille for your kind words about my videos! I'm glad they've been helpful in planning your trip. Regarding your choice of the Grand Hotel Wagner, I think it's an excellent choice. The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city and is situated in a very safe and quiet area, even late at night. They have made significant improvements in terms of service and the hotel has been recently renovated as well. There might be minor inconveniences, such as occasional WiFi issues or small hiccups here and there, but overall, it remains an outstanding hotel. I hope you have a fantastic trip, and if you have any other questions or need more information, feel free to reach out. A presto ;)

Hi Nico! I had a question, are there busses that go from the city center to mondello? The city centers seems like a nicer place to stay, but visiting the beach would sure be fun too!
@WeArePalermo
@WeArePalermo 3 ай бұрын
Ciao!Yeah, you can catch the direct bus number 806 from the Politeama-Libertà neighborhood right to Mondello and back. It's super convenient for a day trip to the beach from the city center. Just a heads up, the bus runs more frequently during the warmer seasons than in winter, so you'll have an easier time catching it if you're visiting when it's warm out!

Hi Nico, neighborhood Capo market is bad area for vacation? I have book Kardía apartment in Vicolo Abbadia 8. I have to cancel the reservation? Thank you. Your videos are perfect!
@WeArePalermo
@WeArePalermo 22 күн бұрын
Ciao! Thanks for the kind words about my videos. About your question, Vicolo Abbadia 8 cuts right through Capo market. You're in the "touristy" part of the market, which I wouldn't describe as dangerous, especially during the day when it's bustling with people. It's a very characteristic place, and I recommend visiting it. However, at night, it's not exactly where I'd send a friend to stay. Late at night, if you're coming back from a night out, it's not exactly frequented by Palermo's nobility, to use a euphemism. Also, consider that it could get noisy early in the morning due to the market. If you decide to stay there, make sure the apartment has excellent soundproofing, as the market noise can be a real issue if the windows aren't soundproofed. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

@WeArePalermo 21 күн бұрын
I would definitely go for Via del Parlamento. You’re between Via Vittorio Emanuele (one of the main areas) and Via Alessandro Paternostro (cute old alleys with nice bars). Super safe day and night. You can come back late at night, and there will always be a lot of people around ;) Hope that helps!

Buongiorno! Thank you for all your tips on Palermo! We will be staying in Palermo in April and will be staying at the B&B Angolo 83 on Via Roma 83. Can you tell me if this is a nice area? I have read that it is close to the Historic Center. Also, We were told that we can park for free on the street behind the property or there is guarded parking for a fee or the garage called "Autorimessa Aidamicristo" via Garibaldi, 41 or Via Magione, 42. Can you tell me what you would advise? If we park the car in a garage we do not want to leave our car keys with anyone since it is a leased car. Grazie mille.
@WeArePalermo
@WeArePalermo Жыл бұрын
Buongiorno! The B&B Angolo 83 on Via Roma 83 is actually located within the historic center, just 5 minutes away on foot from the Quattro Canti (Four Corners), which is the heart of the city. You'll be able to walk to the major attractions without having to use your car. When it comes to parking, I'm afraid you can't park directly on Via Roma street, but there are some side streets where you can park for free. Please keep in mind that this is a ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) area, and you'll need to purchase a daily pass to drive or park within this area. To learn more about ZTL in Palermo, I recommend reading this article: wearepalermo.com/news/vehicle-parking-palermo/. In terms of private parkings, it's common for them to ask for the key of the car, as they have limited space and need to move the car around. I would suggest parking your leased car at the Parcheggio Ungheria (goo.gl/maps/aXRdiYzuagHDNXWc6) or Parcheggio Tumminello (goo.gl/maps/WK9KwYou75trZr1Z9), which are about a 15-20 minute walk away. These parkings should not ask for the key (please double check), and more importantly, they are located outside the ZTL area, so you won't need to pay the daily pass. I hope this information helps and I wish you a wonderful trip to Palermo! Enjoy your stay. Grazie mille.
