loved the video guys, still so happy with my GMT purchase from you guys!! I am making my choices off of significant moments in history. 1. Ball, for the official railroad standard after they helped create time zones after those two trains collided in the late 1800's 2. Cartier Tank, because of all the significance of the great war on wristwatches for men. people legitimately welded lugs on to pocket watches to turn them in to wrist watches because they needed a tool to coordinate more accurate assaults from the trenches with the "creeping barrage" 3. To run with the military history I have to go with Elgen, and the Hamilton Khaki, because Murica. these were the standard issue watches for GI's in WWII 4. Rolex Submariner, because that was what made Rolex famous, and it is the name that remains know by people who know nothing about watches. If that doesn't scream significant i don't know what else does. 5. I have to end with the speed master because this took me longer than 13 seconds to type so they earned the right to be on this list!

Almost perfect list…….EXCEPT, the DATEJUST has to be on the list. It may even be #1, above the sub. Historically, I don’t think anything rivals it. Most non watch nerds wouldn’t know what a Nautilus was. A Datejust, on the other hand, may be the most recognizable watch on the planet.

The Rolex Daytona is the most coveted watch of all time and has been for the last three decades. Number one in my book for what it’s achieved. The Omega Speedmaster is probably top 3 or 5 most iconic watches of all time, with significant historical importance and Nick you don’t think it should be on the list? Bro, edit that part out. The JLC Reverso I would pick before Royal Oak or Nautilus, definitely more historical significance. The Royal Oak and Nautilus most people didn’t even know what they were until last three years

Great discussion. I would make a change to your list. Agree with you list except I would remove the Daytona and replace it with the DateJust. Introduced in 1945. With so many variations and firsts- hard to not include the best selling Rolex. Keep up the informative content!

The reason it took Rolex so long to put click springs in the sub's bezel is that Rolex was too cheap to pay royalty to Blancpain who invented the unidirectional watch bezel that clicked at the same time. Rolex waited for the patent to expire and then used the design for free!

Cartier Tank was the first pilot watch. Rolex did not have a click bezel because Blancpain had the patent.

Rolex, Patek, AP... Jesus Christ, it's like a list of what a hype-chasing watch flipper would come up with! No mention at all of the Seiko Astron? Even a first year horology student would know the Astron was the watch that single-handedly kicked off the quartz crisis. Without the quartz crisis, we wouldn't have the Nautilus or the Royal Oak. Without the quartz crisis, Rolex would keep making tool watches and would not even consider exploring the luxury aspect of wristwatches. Basel Fair 1970? March 1983? Any of those critical dates ring a bell? Very disappointing. This is what happens when you believe memorizing Rolex reference numbers and dial variants somehow makes you a "horology expert".

It's like I really like Rolex, Rolex is like something I really like isn't that like cool. I'm sorry but this mode of speech is so hard to listen to.
