Coach Marie-France Dubreuil’s two top teams arrive in Torino for the Italian Grand Prix 2021: Madison and Zach, and Grabriella and Guillaume. Both coming from fresh wins at Skate America and Finlandia Trophy, this is the first time they compete against each other in this season 2021-2022 season.
Filmed in the last six months leading up to Beijing 2022, On Edge is the Olympic Channel’s first weekly figure skating reality docuseries featuring athletes Madison Chock and Evan Bates (USA), Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron (FRA), Madison Hubbell and Zach Donohue (USA), Olivia Smart and Adrian Diaz (ESP), Laurence Fournier-Beaudry and Nikolaj Sorensen (CAN), Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson (GBR), and coaches Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon, Romain Haguenauer and three time Olympic Gold medallist Scott Moir.

I love that they made it seems like there is a rough competition because yeah, that is what it is, a competition and sure anyone could win but who are they trying to fool? Gabriella and Guillaume are in another level!

Gaby and Guillaume - I see two beautiful, sensitive and tender beings - their dance is a symphony of movement, beauty, elegance, grace and sensuality and they are the best in the world - So touching! So beautiful ! So wonderful !

La sintonia, la leggerezza dei movimenti, la velocità ed il ritrovarsi dopo ogni giravolta, salto o qualsivoglia passo di danza è il loro pattinare con naturalezza è magico in Gabriella e Guiillaume. Danzano insieme sin da bambini e come dice l'allenatore si ritroverebbero anche al buio. Credo che l'amicizia e la complicità che c''è tra loro è l'arma che li rende unici.

I think Stepanova&Bukin are always underscored and H & D are overscored. However, they are nowhere near the French! Cannot believe H & D are even complaining...

I think the Americans are quite stupid politically. They have two too teams but they want to have cake and eat it too so they try to push both teams. The result is that both their teams are a tiny bit overscored. Each of their teams have strengths which are weaknesses in the other and vice versa ( H/D have the power, speed and skating skills that C/B don’t, but C/B have the creative steps, lifts, choreo and interpretation that H/B lack). The Russians also have two top teams, but they pushed hard on one ( V/S ) and undervalue the other ( S/B). This makes it easier to “sell” V/S as gold medal contender, because they can say “ this pair is so much better than every other pair and they’re specialblah blah blah”. The US thought they can have both silver and bronze at the Olympics by pushing both, and now theyd be lucky if they had a bronze. While Russia is in the conversation for a possible gold ( unlikely but possible with the French’s mistakes).

It’s not both of them… Zach wised up years ago after being a brat in the press about Alex Shibutani. Sadly Madison has only gotten more bitter as she’s become more successful. It’s strange, and very egotistical. She’s nowhere near Gabi and Guillaume, and she knows it. If she doesn’t, she needs to talk to her coach and look at her scores and get a grip on reality.

Statements like this show you really do no understand the technical side of dance. It's obvious to EVERYONE who has seen both of these team skate live that H/D skate bigger, faster, more powerful, better ice coverage, better multi-directional skating, deeper edges and more difficult holds. S/B are excellent performers but they are not better skaters than Madison & Zach.

Are wang/liu still with this coaching team? I would have thought they would be featured in this if they still train there as they could talk about being the top Chinese team and their mindset towards representing China at the Beijing games. They were at this competition in Italy too.

@@laurafinkelstein9181 I rewatched the Italian Grand Prix and the ice dance teams of Wang/Liu and Chen/Sun were sitting with Marie-France and Romain in the kiss and cry so 🤷‍♀️ not sure what you mean, sis. Wang/Liu placed 4th btw. In ice dance.

Maddy and Zach can win over Gabby and Guillaume if they succeed to get the very French romantic state of mind and gesture. French Romantism is the key to express all beauty on everthing. But Gabby and Guillaume are still there for hardest battles again and again ! May the best win over !
