Jon and Benji , I have been watching all vlogs and there is allways something new !!! HOW DO YOU DO IT ???

Jon, i don´t now what your "tech" guy is doing or anything. But a suggestion could be to get wireshark and sniff packets to and from all the units that transmits sound over wifi. like smartphones, laptops, apple tv´s etc etc. and look in the logs what unit that transmits data at the moment the music is tuning on and off and volum is going up and down. at that point you can determine what unit is actually the issue, once you have that down you can start tinkering with that, or even make a specific rule in your routers firewall to block the traffic. to "find hackers" like this is very complicated, because even the amatures(scriptkiddies) are usually smart enough to hide behind a vpn or public proxy and encrypt thier data. so my tip would be to stop the attacks rather then finding the guilty one. I think you probably have one or more tech guys around you to actually get help with this. and most of them probably know what i´m talking about. get someone with a laptop that has the knowledge to use some sort of packet sniffer or basic understadning of firewalls and traffic shaping etc etc. i think maby Kali linux(a Linux operating sytem for computers) has wireshark pre-installed. richard is lucky he didnt get hit with ransomware. i'd check for rootkits and see if weird processes are on. also wiresharking connections should help finding if theres remote access terminal on one of household's machine and tells ip's its connecting to, but its 100% vpn or TOR ip.

Jon, tell Richard it has nothing to do with his Wi-Fi or his sonos system. Due to the volume changing it is either the Spotify account or the phone itself, my guess would be the Spotify account. You can kick out all the devices on spotifys official page.

I have a Idea for the problem: Always if my sister did a home party I took her Spotify and played very loud and annoying music on our home cinema.So maybe someone have Richards account and, because Richards system is always connected with his phone, the "hacker" can play music whenever the phone is in the house.Try to put it one fly mode so there is no connection to the system. (sorry for spelling mistakes... im from Germany so I have a german autocorrecture ) :( Noah

Security researchers discovered how internet-connected speakers by Sonos and Bose can be remotely hacked and made to play any song or sound the hacker chooses. The speakers were discovered via Shodan, a search engine for devices connected to the internet, like cameras and speakers. Once located, the speakers could be remotely accessed and hijacked. Researchers found the speakers could be made to play anything by directing them to the URL of an audio file hosted online. Naturally, they opted to play Rick Astley as a prank. Taking things a step further, the hack was then used to take control of a nearby Amazon Echo smart speaker. The researchers found how, if the audio file they play contains the word 'Alexa', the compromised Sonos or Bose speaker will interact with a nearby Echo. If the victim uses Alexa to unlock doors or interact with security systems, this could help give hackers physical access to a property. Although the Trend Micro researchers admit only a few thousand of these speakers worldwide were open to attack - due to them sitting on misconfigured and insecure networks - the threat is still real, and one which both smart home manufacturers and customers need to take seriously.

He should turn his phone off for a while and see if its still there. As you can clearly see it changes the volume everytime.

I would guess it's not the sound system that's hacked because the volume on Spotify is changing so maybe it is Spotify that's hacked.... so my advice would be change the Spotify password and the Wi-Fi password and you should be fine again
