You missed an important detail. When Russia was having peace talks with Ukraine & everybody else around the table they actually agreed to sign a peace contract, until the UK suddenly butted in the conversation and stopped them and convinced Ukraine not to do it.

I genuinely love this channel. Fuck it portrays the conflict so well and I love how the US is all up in the business stirring the pot and then acting shocked and blameless lol. This channel is perfect to share w/ ppl who can’t be bothered to look into any nuance of the conflict. Doesnt mention how the Eastern Ukrainians rebelled after the coup that cost them their ELECTED president. Also does not mention how They were being shelled for 8 years post the Minsk agreement that was never adhered to by the Ukrainians. Also, they've pretty much admitted that Ukraine destroyed the pipeline, with a small team apparently. Totally not the US

It's normal, because human relations mean more than country relations. I do have some Russian friends myself. Relatives too, as my father is ethnically Russian. But it would be harder for me to keep this connection if my friends and relatives would have been justifying ths war.

Very interesting how you didn’t include the scene where Ukraine and Russia negotiated a peace settlement and Russia withdrew from Kiev only for UK Boris Johnson to fly in to command Ukraine to pull out of the negotiated settlement.

Barely implied in a newspaper headline that Ukraine was bombing civilians in Donbas for 8 years before the war. Sadly, some of the major diplomacy %$@# ups are on Ukraine.

@@Ratraccoon, FYI, Donbas is a bit bigger than the territories controlled by separatists. And the shelling was bilateral. Not only Donetsk suffered from rockets and MRLSs, but Kramatorsk and Mariupol' too. Both cities were controlled by Ukraine during these 8 years. Oh, and compare the view of Donetsk after 8 years (10 years now) shelling by bloodthirsty Ukrainians - and Mariupol after 2,5 months of "liberation" by peaceloving Russians. Also you may look for the photos and videos of Grozniy after Russia solved its own separatist problem. The same man that is trying to "defend and liberate" Ukrainian cities now was in presidential chair of Russia then.

Two countries that are so tied into eachother, Russia sees Ukraine as part of Russia cos they built the whole country, almost all Russians havd relatives nd friends in Ukraine. This is a complex situation that we cant settle, they need to figure out how to co exist

If it were pre-2014 and the US just backed off, likely things would have been fine (or at least far more peaceful than now). It wouldn't be likely to happen easily now given the inevitable bad blood that has developed, but I do believe ultimately Putin has calculated this wisely and figures wisely that the ends do justify the cost (avoiding a repeat of 1812/1941). NATO does invade countries (Iraq). Trusting fully that such a powerful military force (like NATO) would not abuse this position is a fool's game, and though Russia ultimately won glorious victories in those two conflicts, it is worth paying a smaller price than paying such a high price again in the future. The world needs balance and that means no one government gets to ultimately always right in geopolitics (USA at the moment, via their military power and decreasingly economic power) even when their wrong.
