I have acquired many Nylint, Tonka, Structo, Deopke toys over the years Had Ertl to this also, Some are almost mint condition including jeeps, tractor trailers, cranes, dump trucks and a Heilner and motor home. I am trying to rearrange my back garage to handle them. I also added diecast models and have hundreds on 1/64 models in my lower rooms with 1/16 1/18 cars and trucks. This has been a almost fifty year collection.. I really enjoy the hobby.

This is a fun aspect of the automotive hobby, Ronald, and you are really enjoying your collection!! Once you get your display space sorted out, you will begin looking for more room for your next aquisition!!! Have fun and see you at the swap meets!! I grew up in Mound Minnesota where they were manufactured and my mom worked. We got great deals on them before they defected to Mexico.

What a shame they felt they had to make more money by looking for the cheapest manufacturing.

I love those toy vehicles. That first one with the boat since I had two boats in my youth. As a kid I had a Nylint or Tonka red and white pickup with a removable cap. I played with it until the wheels fell off!

Great memories!!!!!!! Did you bring your trucks and boats to the beach?
@davemcguigan2184 жыл бұрын
@@carshowreporter no I had a green plastic model 60 Chevy wagon I played on the beach with drift wood for a road. And some plastic toy boats. Also as a kid I was in the ocean most of the time and rarely on the beach. If it was a cloudy or rainy day then build model cars. I remember one was a 62 Chevy Corvette convertible.

I saw one of the Minute Maid Tonka trucks hiding in the background (1:28). I came across one about three months ago. Was there a big difference in price between the used toys and the restored toys?
@carshowreporter2 жыл бұрын
Great question, Dancer's Collectables. It would depend on the quality of the restoration and, on the other side, the condition of the original. If all things were equal, the original would be worth more.
