Daniel was the faction I had more hype for. Not just a cool daemon prince but OC character? All 4 gods available and you can dedicate to one or all? Sound like a dream campaign for a chaos fan. But no... he had to be the joke of all the old world. And pains even more after the release of tamurkhan (who is MORE everchosen than archaon with all his campaign mechanics). A total waste, and the chances for a rework are close to zero, I don't think we will ever have a dlc for another daemon prince or something, and I doubt CA will ever rework him for non-profit.

The nurge unit oversight is not only on Daniel, I saw it too playing Archaon and recruiting Nurgle units in Nurgle territory

Imagine being a powerful demon prince with free access to the whole chaps roster and you’re considered trash, such a shame XD thank god mods exist. Fun fact this is the first campaign achievement i got, then i realised oh shit, this game is actually good!

Lol he was my 1st campaign as well. And man it was so hard, with the entire map sending armies against you at the same time.

Daniel was my first play through and my second was Skarbrand, it was night and day.

i think what they have to do is give him a tech tree, a real skill-line focused on choosing what alignment you want (so you get to choose if you want the khorne tree, nurgle tree, slaanesh tree, or tzeentch tree), and keep the parts mechanic as is. i think the idea of a customizable lord is interesting and i think they can even add the mechanic for generic daemon princes (minus the parts), with the WOC mechanic that lets you choose an alignment for default chaos heroes/lords. the only major problem with the cyoa campaign rn is that no matter what your adventure is going to end in you being fairly weak, make his unique line give him general buffs to all daemon units like upkeep reduction or something and his parts can create alignments so his army has buffs based on alignments maybe even give him a stability mechanic where if you make a really unfocused army, it can create instability in the army and give the army debuffs but gives the daemon prince big buffs and if the army is focused, daemon prince gets way less buffs but the army is also buffed a lot,

The concept for Daniel is not that bad with gaining glory and equipping bodyparts instead of armor, because triple mortis engine is more interesting than flat damage resistance and hero capacity can be increased without you going out of your way by building useless building just for 1 hero and the fact you can recruit them everywhere is huge, but CA should work on execution, where all the cool demon faction mechanics are given to new warriors of chaos instead of ascended Daniel, there can't be any undivided settlements, which could give both the passive corruption and units, economy and growth sucks, where only the second one can be slightly improved by choosing nurgle settlement, while I understand why demonic units are locked behind glory, I don't understand why is it like that for simple marauders and warriors, there is no line holder hero because of no undivided leaving Daniel with 2 casters, 1 damage dealer and 1 caster damage dealer hybrid, no trade makes it even harder for Daniel to make any friends and all Daniel's skill points and armor sets are too selfish giving the whole faction no benefits at all for being something replacing the research tree

I don't think I've ever gotten a rebellion as danny... And I've played him several times. I do agree about the nurgle hp thing (that's quite new though) and that his start position is pain though. The worst part IMO is that they removed his undivided furies. That was his best option really. they got great and were free if you built for it. I haven't even touched dannysince they forced you to use mono god furies only last fall/winter. Even with the latest buffs for furies it's just not the same.

Daniel is so ignored he still has "% increase in winds of magic" skill, when everyone else got that skill replaced with increased max pool

I reckon the best way to salvage Daniel is take his entire bodyparts mechanic and put it seperately from everything else. That way you can equip items etc and just totally redo his tech tree. Daniel's bodyparts schtick can be reimagined as chaos gifts for himself

I think Daniel, as a concept, is fun. A fully customizable Daemon Prince that you can either be undivided for or dedicate yourself to a God…But I seriously think he needs a few reworks, both in quests and mechanics, to make him a seriously home run campaign. I would like to humbly present for you my dumb ideas which may not be the most accurate…But could be fun. 01. Let’s start with the basics of what could be done to improve his quality of life or power scale with allowing you to equip items like any other lord alongside his “Build-A-Lord” style gameplay. This one feels like a no-brainer, but if you really want to play with Power Fantasy this is what needs to be done. 02. Daniel’s body parts needs to be buffed to a far stronger level just on stats alone. Baseline, he should be terrifying to fight for just about any other Legendary Lord and every milestone unlocked should feel like he’s becoming a monster you need to account for when going up against him. 1.25-2x what he is given now should be what HE gets, not Daemon Princes in general, but he alone. 03. Body part abilities need to be overhauled for Daniel. Less ‘At low Health’ and no ‘chance to die’ abilities on his body parts, Daniel’s entire thing should feel like as you go deeper into the tree he is getting monstrous stronger. Give him more passive regeneration in nurgle, give him more combat regeneration in Khorne, give him better/more spells in Tzeentch, give him better buffs for combat in Slaanesh. Right now I can’t pin down everything, but there are abilities that don’t appear often in the tree (Such as Gorefeast, I think it’s called) that needs to make more appearances, his regeneration burst for Nurgle just giving him a chance to die makes every part that has it just not worth using, and his Tzeentch stuff feels…Weak. He gets some decent spells, but at the end I almost think he should be able to mix and match spells as he goes deeper into the tree far better. 04. Make Dedication matter. Right now, Undivided is the only one that feels worth it and that’s because I feel the parts in each dedication isn’t living up to any hype. Slaanesh should let me be fast enough to chase down anyone, with enough anti-infantry BS to mow down armies. Khorne should make him practically unkillable in melee with him regenerating and having all of the Ward Saves. Nurgle should make him survivable outside of melee and tanky in it as he supports his armies with heals and spells, while Tzeentch should allow him to feel powerful beyond measure with access to Cataclysm spells on his items, maybe use the Mirror of Madness abilities as army abilities if you dedicate to Tzeentch and get all the way to the end of his thing? I am pulling out of my rear, but he should feel like a force of nature. 05. Increase Glory Gains or decrease Glory requirements for army units. That’s all. 06. I think his skill tree needs a rework. I like the idea of ‘Fight to Research’ but that skill tree research should’ve been Skarbrand. Daniel needs general buffs for all units on one tree, combat buffs for himself on another, and general campaign buffs on the third. If you want specialized buffs for other units, add them to a fourth skill tree allowing you to do powerful buffs in each of them, then veterancy buffs. It might be best to just allow for normal research for Daniel to be brutally honest and give Skarbrand a rework of just research by combat instead of the stupidity of research by…Well, research for him of all people. 07. I think his campaign goal should be changed ever so slightly. As an Undivided his ending should be changed to become a new Chaos God of the Soul Forge. For one of the other dedications he kills Belakor and offers the skull, the misery, the body, or the raw power of the God up to his patron (Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, and Tzeentch respectively). A small change, but a welcome one. In IE perhaps make it where you remove Belakor from the map and instead have to deal with his agents in a few quest battles before reaching him at the Forge of Souls later? At least it’ll be something. These are the biggest things holding him back, at least to me.

I am really disappointed about how the demon prince turned out. It was a major lost opportunity. But it is strange that they have not reworked him after all this time.

Haven't had too much trouble with Daniel as pure tzeentch. The biggest dissapointment of Daniel is item sets. All these cool things, can make him look super badass, but the set bonuses are so busted your just nerfing yourself if you don't pick them. Am still a new player to TW3 just on hard hard nothing fancy so I suppose I don't know super well how other factions play or work. Just did a Tzeentch and Ogre before this. I do hate the absolute spam of items with daniel though, I feel like I'm in a mobile game being piled with gifts instead of meaningful rewards.

I think a second video for mods would be nice, maybe a list of various mods that fix the less lucky factions like Daniel or Vamp Coast like how craftable dwarf replenishment was nice pre rework

I cant use mortau's godslayer mod oddly. It doesnt work for me. I have to install mods manually for my windows store total war game. I tried a few times but alas it doesnt work

The concept & character may have been a tragedy, but your graphical quality for this vid is certainly a triumph If they ever rework the poor guy--or as I call him, Jif the Overhauled--CA should just hire Mortrau as a contractor and have him copypasta Godslayer Overhaul into the hardcode: would save everyone involved a buncha time, Mortrau gets a paycheck out of it, and the faction gets an identity of "eclectic faction mechanics, fun if overpowered Lord, economy still sucks", which would be a noticeable improvement over what it is now. Plus, it would introduce another psuedo-Horde into the game, which I will always support 5:27...it's a bit sad that I did not notice this DESPITE having played as Danny Boi a couple of times

One of the biggest things too is the want to play daniel is to have all these demons but the lords still only buff the respective god units, where as the warriors of chaos lords have skill trees that just buff all demonic units which is another reason belakor should be a demons faction cus he can make demon princes

I like him, he has flaws but he has some positives. I hope they rework him, give him a tech tree, allow him to equip any weapon (Sword of Khaine) as a 1 handed weapon. Belakor needs to be moved into his race and share his tech tree, WoC does not need 8 LL
