Justin Fashanu, the well known English striker, enjoyed a lavishing career in the sport by being reputed as one of the fiercest strikers of the ball. But at the same time, he continuously struggled with the taboo norms of the society at different stages of his game and ultimately un-alived himself after getting tired of the unfair world. The story of Fashanu showcases the immense struggle of a legendary player with the unfair society, and it’s heartbreaking.
Justinus Soni Fashanu, aka Justin Fashanu was born on 19 February 1961 to Nigerian immigrant parents. His father served as a barrister in the UK and his mother, Pearl, was a nurse in a care center in the same locality. Life came out pretty hard for Fashanu right from the start. Right after his birth, Fashanu’s parents split up and he and his younger brother, John, were sent to a Barnardo's care home. At the age of six, both the kids were fostered by a couple named Alf and Betty Jackson who brought them up in Shropham, Norfolk.
