I don't recall hearing from this the MOST IMPORTANT thing about Pilate 🤔 and his role and how God used him for His purpose. Pilate literally declared that he found NO FAULT in Jesus three times!!! Jesus was the spotless lamb being prepared for the offering. And just like in the multitude of ceremonies where a lamb must be deemed spotless that is exactly what Pilate did with Jesus because there was no way the Jewish leaders were going to do it. That was necessary and God used Pilate to do that very thing. It was proclaimed to ALL that Jesus was the spotless Lamb of God! 🙌🙌🙌 I find that so amazing! And even with all that pressure he faced from the Jews and the crowd he still proclaimed over and over and over that there was No Fault found in Jesus!!! AMEN to that!!!

Stop putting Pilate on a PEDESTAL!!! He does NOT deserve it as he ordered the killing of many innocent citizens. He was NO BETTER than Judas Iskariot who suffered from terrible feelings of self-reproach and remorse after he realized what he had done.......

It all began with the Apostle Judas who betrayed Jesus. Then, it went to the Jewish Hierarchy at the Temple. Then, it went to Pilate and then transferred to King Herod and back to Pilate again. Judas committed suicide and Pilate lost his Roman Governorship and power.

No it was not Gods will that he be killed brutally Gods plan was that Jesus be the lamb that is sacrificed to the sins of the world just like all sacrifices the offender will kill a lamb in a sorrowful way not brutally and saying it’s must die to save me but in remorse he will take its life so that he can be forgiven. So Pilate was supposed to be firm and release Jesus so that the high priest will sacrifice him. Remember the story of John when baptising Christ he said I can not baptise (kill) you instead you should baptise (kill) me but Jesus said do it so that all righteousness is fulfilled and he did it than. As the baptismal is a symbol of death and resurrection as a new creature so the high priest was suppose to kill Jesus on the Passover but kill him in argon knowing that he is dying for our sins. Just like he used to kill the lamb of God on the day of Atonement. That is how Jesus was supposed to die

The good news is, that when Jesus was laid in the tomb, his spirit took ALL of the sins of the world with him, into Hell, and he left them there. We do not have to work for our salvation. Our salvation is believing God's grace through His Son Jesus. We were reconciled unto Him. 1st Corinthians 15:1-4.

@@marauderadJesus had to die and rise from the dead to complete his mission on earth. He was to be the sacrificial lamb for all of our sins. That was God the Father's plan. If Pilot had not condemned Jesus to death, someone else would have. Pilot releasing Jesus would have only delayed his death. The story would have changed, but not the end result.

@@herbb8547yes and sometimes we forget that Christ as the lamb of God he was supposed to be sacrificed like the lambs which were sacrificed. They were sacrificed by the offender but in a sorrowful way not brutally. Take the case of John when baptising Christ he said I’m not worth to baptise (kill) you but in stead you should baptise ( kill) me so that I can be a new creature but Jesus said do it to fulfil all righteousness. So Jesus was supposed to be crucified by The high priest as the lamb of God but not as a sinner as they did.

I appreciate your work, however here is a correction: Pilate did not bribe the guards, that was what the Pharisees did. They told the guards, "Tell the people his disciples came by night and stole his body away." This dereliction of duty, to sleep during the night watch, would be punishable by death. So they told the guards, "If this comes before the governor's ears, we will persuade him and secure you (keep you from harm)." I have a book called the Archko Volume. It is simply AMAZING. It is a reprint of a book published in the mid-1800's, which contains first century accounts -eye witness accounts of Jesus life and reports the Pharisees and Sanhedrin had recorded about Jesus' birth, ministry and death. I've been saved since I was 14 (I am now 71) and these accounts have the ring of truth to them. I am not Catholic, but got saved during the Jesus People Revolution of the 60's and have been walking with the Lord as best as I could in these 57 years. I have been very blessed with the Archko Volume. It does not contradict scripture, but fills in significant gaps. Hallelujah, God is so good to give us a bit fuller picture of the events of the life of Jesus.

that episode never happened there were no guards at the tomb. this was added to the story in anticipation of what the people would think. what did the guards see? did they see jesus coming out of the tomb? what was he wearing? where did allhis wound go except for the ones in his wrists(oops! what but all thestigmata including Padre Pio who had them on their palms?!) and his side? why did no one recognize him not even hus family and friends? what were the women doing ta the tomb three daya after he was buried? jesus was prepared for burial on Friday, we know the cost anfd even the weight of the herbs and ointment used and even who paid for them. Do you konw what a three day corpse would look and smell like? it was against Jewish law to touch a corpse. The accounts of the first easter differ from one another. why did Jesus tellmary not to touch him because he had not gone to the fther yet but three days before he had told the 'good' thief I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise. and whydid he tell Thoas to put hisfinger in his wounds? where did jesus go when he ' ascended' body and soul in the sky and a cloud hid him from view?

In the Bible, Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God in John 1:29 and John 1:36, where John the Baptist says, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world". This title is one of seven names for Jesus used by John and is also the first of seven "witnesses" in the gospel of John who declare Jesus to be the Christ, the Messiah, and the Son of God. Jesus Christ is also known as the Lamb of God. The Savior's Atonement fulfilled the law of Moses and ended the sacrifice of the Passover lamb. There would be no Christian Religion, if these individuals did not participate. Number One, Judas turned Jesus over to the Jewish High Priest, Number Two, PONTIUS PILATES Condemns Jesus to death by being crucified. In the New Testament, Acts 5:30, 10:39, and 13:29 refer to Jesus' crucifixion as "hanging on a tree". This phrase is a reference to Deuteronomy 21:22-23, which describes how to display an Israelite who has been convicted of a capital crime. Number Three, The death of Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus. (1). According to John 19:30 in the Bible, Jesus said, "It is finished" before he died on the cross and bowed his head: (2). Jesus said he must be raised on the third day (Mark 8:31). But this third-day deliverance was not just prophesied by Jesus; it was patterned in the Old Testament. If readers knew this Old Testament pattern and then learned that Jesus was raised on the third day, they shouldn't be surprised at all. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. These things had to occur, certain people had to participate in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, The Only Begotten Son of God Almighty. Amen. We now wait in peace for the judgement day. Come quickly my, "Holy Lord God Jesus Christ" Please Have Mercy on our Souls. Amen. "In The Name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit." Amen.🎚

I need help. I may not be in a situation like Pilot but once I started listening to this video I realized I need help. I grew up in a Christian home but the bible was nevert really read in my church, I would only see My mother reading the bible. Once I could make my own decisions I changed church joining the methodist church in South Africa but I've yet to become a fully pledged member. I've always had this thing holding me back. I would often visit my old church mainly receiving pressure from my family whom most of them.are still in my old church. But everytime I would visit I would feel nothing spiritually . Recently I've had dreams about people who' have since passed this life that used to belong in my old church. The priest that I share my dreams.with has failed to interpret what these dreams mean. I love my Lord my savior Jesus Christ I read the bible just as I've seen mother from early age. I even watch you tube's videos which help me understand the bible more which isn't what my old church used to teach us when I was growing up. I see my self with internal struggles pertaining to my religious life.

I also came out of an old church where the salvation of God was acknowledged but never realized in our daily lives, We never read our Bibles. It was more of a religion to me than a relationship with Jesus. My old church had a huge emphasis on, works and doing things myself. Just commit your heart and life to Jesus, trusting only in his atonement on the cross, and talk to God every day. He will talk to you every day also through the Bible. Let him change your life. Read Romans Chapter 6. It’s like you move over in the car and let him take the wheel. . I also got flack from my family for not attending my old church. I decided I needed to go where God was real to me. Blessings on this wonderful journey, my friend I will be praying for you. ❤

Always stay close to God as you continue to read the Bible and pray everyday. I do also remember while growing up as a child in a family of eight siblings. I was about 10 and 7th down the line. I grew up in the same setting of the old church. But I was invited to church by a friend then and when I got there, for the first time in my life I heard the Gospel through God's word and it ministered to me. When I got back, I was was flogged for going to another church. But I didn't stop. I kept on going until my parents got tired. Today, 30 years later, there's none of my siblings in the old church for they have found the light! I encourage you to be strong and keep praying for them. A day will come when their eyes would be opened to the Gospel of salvation. Just keep reading your Bible pray and stir clear from youthful sins and God will preserve you till the end. Praying for you. God bless you always!

The terrible scourging--by his stripes we are healed--the result of failing to appease a vengeful mob that still demanded a crucifixion--the crown of thorns that became symbolic about triumphing over the rule of sin and death--the result of the trial being moved to Herod's jurisdiction and the abusive treatment by his soldiers. Then the washing of hands of the entire affair getting that entire vengeful mob to cry out let his blood be upon them and upon all of their children for generations without end. That had absolved Pilot and his kind of all guilt. Among the first converts to Christianity had been a Roman Centurion and all his invited guests gather together to hear Peter. There was no veil over their eyes.

What he avoided being challenged by Rome. Turned into a reality for him. Judea must have had other unreal requests which lead to his demise. In hindsight, easy to see. But I wonder if he knew that the unrest would continue after Jesus. He should have done the right thing at the start. It's hs hard but rewarding to do the just thing by our Lord Jesus Christ. I still feel for Jesus Christ Two and a bit millennia away but I live and learn like the rest of us. Thank you ❤🌹

I read a document which was apparently a letter written by Pilate on his journey home to face the music with Tiberius to his wife Claudia, who was already in Rome. Tiberius had died while he was on that journey and when he got home he was exonerated and went on to live with Claudia in France - so the story goes. Either way he was an interesting character in the events of the Crucifixion. In Acta Pilate (Letter of Pilate to Caesar about Jesus, His Crucifixion & Resurrection), he had requested a meeting with Jesus before the Crucifixion. He said when he met him he was frozen with fear and swore to protect him and his right to speak, but Jesus said that this was out of his control. A great insight into Pilate...

It does beg the question of fate/destiny vs free will. One may argue that had Pilate NOT ordered the execution, Jesus may well never have gotten crucified, and the whole basis of Christianity might never have happened. A totally alternate history.

I find this story fascinating, given that historians didn’t even acknowledge Pilate as a real historical person. Only after a stone was discovered in the ruins of Caesarea, baring the name pilate, did they realize, his existence was possible. Historians still have doubts, about the actual existence of Jesus, but we are led to believe the information in this story is factual?. And the Bible says it was actually the Sanhedrin who bribed the guards to lie about the resurrection of Jesus, not Pontius Pilate.

Some fanatics said Jesus died. He never risen from death. Even here Ilaya Raja whose family in early days lived on the support of Protestant Christian groups, said Jesus never risen. If he had not risen those apostles who had ran away and even denied him and hid themselves not to be seen by others would not have that much of surpassing courage and wisdom to go out and preach. The spread of Christianity is the witness for having seen the Lord Christ risen from death.

When Pilate realized that nothing more could be done but that there would soon be a riot, he took a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying: “I take no responsibility for the death of this man. You must see to that yourselves.” Matthew 27:24, Phillips. If at the first Pilate had stood firm, refusing to condemn a man whom he found guiltless, he would have broken the fatal chain that was to bind him in remorse and guilt as long as he lived. Had he carried out his convictions of right, the Jews would not have presumed to dictate to him. Christ would have been put to death, but the guilt would not have rested upon Pilate. But Pilate had taken step after step in the violation of his conscience. He had excused himself from judging with justice and equity, and he now found himself almost helpless in the hands of the priests and rulers. His wavering and indecision proved his ruin.33The Desire of Ages, 732. In fear and self-condemnation Pilate looked upon the Saviour. In the vast sea of upturned faces, His alone was peaceful. About His head a soft light seemed to shine. Pilate said in his heart, He is a God. Turning to the multitude he declared, I am clear of His blood. Take ye Him, and crucify Him. But ... I pronounce Him a just man. May He whom He claims as His Father judge you and not me for this day's work. Then to Jesus he said, Forgive me for this act; I cannot save You.... Pilate longed to deliver Jesus. But he saw that he could not do this, and yet retain his own position and honor. Rather than lose his worldly power, he chose to sacrifice an innocent life. How many, to escape loss or suffering, in like manner sacrifice principle. Conscience and duty point one way, and self-interest points another.... Pilate yielded to the demands of the mob. Rather than risk losing his position, he delivered Jesus up to be crucified. But ... the very thing he dreaded afterward came upon him. His honors were stripped from him, he was cast down from his high office, and, stung by remorse and wounded pride, not long after the crucifixion he ended his own life. So all who compromise with sin will gain only sorrow and ruin. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12).34Ibid., 738.

It is believed that Pilate actually converted to Christianity later on in his life. The coptic church, for example, celebrates a feast day on the 19th and 25th of June because of it. On the other hand historian Eusebius believes that Pilate committed suicide around 39 AD. This fact is let out of other works touching on his life such as Josephus, Philo and Tacitus. I would rather trust the coptic Church (even tho I am not coptic) with this piece of information rather than Eusebius. However, it is important to note that Pilate "washed his hand" three times of Christ's execution, stating he did not find a fault with Him.

The exact cause of Pontius Pilate's death is not known with certainty, but there are several accounts and legends surrounding his fate. Here are some of the most common theories: Eusebius, a Christian historian, claimed that Pilate was recalled to Rome after ruling over Judea for ten years, and that he eventually committed suicide after being exiled by Emperor Caligula. Another account claims that Pilate was banished to Vienne in modern-day France, where he died. There is also a legend that Pilate and his wife converted to Christianity, and that he was later beheaded by Emperor Nero. A 4th-century text called the "Acts of Pilate" claims that Pilate was arrested and executed by Emperor Tiberius for his role in the crucifixion of Jesus. Despite these various accounts, there is no concrete historical evidence to confirm any of them, and the true circumstances of Pilate's death remain a mystery.

The importance of making just decisions is a stumbling block confronting human behavior. Pilate had a choice when presented with the awful dilemma of putting an innocent man to death; yet knowing he was dealing with an innocent man, he chose to succumb to the Jewish leader's request to have him killed. Pilate had the political power to set Jesus free. The Jewish leaders would then have no choice but to appeal to higher Roman authorities to handle their case. The notion that Pilate had to hand Jesus over because it was God's will does not make sense if we have a choice to act morally in the face of extreme circumstances. Pilate's morally wrong decision seems to be a human condition in which we act out of fear (not necessarily cowardice) in times of extremely challenging situations.

Pilate tried to release Jesus a few times, but other than that….I would think that this sort of thing happened often. How many “messiahs” came and went during his tenure? He did what he thought was best for Rome; right or wrong…..under immense pressure from the Sanhedrin. Any decision he made had the potential to “generate serious political and social consequences.” 0:49

Pilot gave the Choice to the PEOPLE by asking if he should free Christ or Barabbas; Matthew 27:15-26 15 Now it was the governor’s custom at the festival to release a prisoner chosen by the crowd. 16 At that time they had a well-known prisoner whose name was Jesus[a] Barabbas. 17 So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” 18 For he knew it was out of self-interest that they had handed Jesus over to him. 19 While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.” 20 But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed. 21 “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered. 22 “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!” 23 “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!” 24 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!” 25 All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children!” 26 Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. Who WERE the People Pilot was talking too? Where was he When he GAVE that choice? Read the Bible not The INTERNET!

What people don’t realize is that with no crucifixion (death) there would be no resurrection. Therefore, no redemption. Jesus going to the cross was essential to our faith and belief. Claudia Procula, if anything, was working on behest of the devil to prevent this. Even Judas played an important role. Don’t we think it would have been different if none of this happened? Where then would have been the plan of God in reconciling man to Him?

Yes multiple depictions of the Golden Dome of the Rock are period incorrect. That wasn't built for at least 600 years as a bldg to honor Mohammed's night journey into heaven from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. On that piece of land there stood a building called Aeliolina Capitolina built & the I'm not sure whether it was after the 1st rebellion in Judea which resulted in the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD or the 2nd Judean revolt which took place in 132-135AD. But there was a completely different bldg on Temple mount as the Romans tried to extingiish Jewish memory of the Temple & destroy Jewish political power in the Holy Land.

I truly believe Pilate was an honorable and honest man, and I'd hope he's in Heaven with Christ. He tried to save Christ multiple times, but inevitably he gave him over to the Jewish leadership to deal with. He's not responsible for the injustice towards Christ; he earnestly tried to save Him from death. The mobs of Jews and the religious elite in Israel are responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus.

I honestly cannot imagine the evil that relentlessly attacked him. From people to powerful spiritual entities. I get the feeling Christ ensured Pilot that he would make the correct decision; but, his place in God's plans was one of the most difficult positions a human would ever have to face. But notice. Pilot isn't known for ruthlessly charging Christ. He's remembered for having made the most difficult decision of any man. God chose him for a reason. I'm sure it'll all be explained to him in full. In my opinion, I believe he'll find his name in the book of life and Jesus will put his immense suffering into perspective. Christ will heal every spiritual wound that he dealt with. Of every man that God created, He chose Pilot for that role. God undoubtedly made a very spiritually tough man out of Pilot. In the end, somebody would have to make that decision and Hod chose him. It wasn't chance. His decision ignited the flame of Christianity to carry on in time. As a result, Satan failed this battle and Pilot had to tragically suffer the rest of his life. He was a huge part in God's plan: to end Jesus' chapter as a man and start a new one of his ressurection. He did what he was chosen for. His life leading to this absolutely soul crushing decision was his purpose. Horrible, yes. Necessary, most definetely. God chose him to make a tough, if not the toughest, decision any man would have to face. I'm sure Satan definetely enjoyed it all. All but the most important part where Christ defeated death. As I theorize, I think Christ essentially told him to do what God needed; not what Pilot wanted. The suffering that plagued him the rest of his life was Satan's vengeance for following through with an extremely painful. God's plans are never completely understood. Same as Judas. He tried returning the coins but the rabbis scoffed at him. His guilt lead to suicide. In the end, that was his role in God's plan. My mom and I believe Judas will be in the book of life. He played it how God planned. In killing himself, it showed he held guilt and regret beyond reason. That's the idea, some of the most villainous figures in the bible were chosen by God to commit actions we couldn't ever imagine facing. Whether they were intentionally evil not. Still happens today. Good is evil and evil is good. When God explains how important they were, they'll understand and finally be at peace.

It’s unfair that the Pilate was punished for being the judge. Pilate washed his hands of the responsibility, just like the apostles shook the dust off their feet as a sign of the ppl’s rejection of the gospel. All the blame should fall on the Jews and the Jews alone. They have been persecuting all the prophets sent to them and the crucifixion of Christ was no different from their usual game play. I hope that the Lord will be merciful on Pilate on judgement day.

I have not put much thought to this, but I guess I should. Without the actions of Pilot, Judas, the Pharasies, we would not have the salvation offered us through Christ's blood. All of this is God's plan, but if someone acted differently, or made a different decision then we are still under the curse of death. I don't even know the question to ask...I believe in free will, I also believe God has a plan. I guess I'm trying to reconcile these two thoughts in light of these circumstances
