Fair play on the 2004 CL but I personally hate the Inter CL win because of EUFA's unfair approach regarding the Icaland volcanic eruption. Barca, their SF opponent, had to take an 18hour bus ride to Milan, arriving barely three hours ahead of kickoff. Two weeks later Inter took a 1hour plane hop to Barcelona for the return, then parked the plane to a 1-0 defeat that won them the tie. Doesn't seem fair .....

Liverpool fan here so no bias for Jose whatsoever but love him or hate him the man has won pretty much everything the game has to offer at club level in many different countries too. What he did at Porto was incredible, he turned Chelsea into a well oiled winning machine, he defied the odds with Inter and won the champions league ! He got the better of Pep and won la liga there , came back to Chelsea won the league yet again ! Won a Europa league with United and galvanized a vastly underachieving and disjointed squad of players with some shrewd signings. List goes on and on . I dont like his antics, don't like his brand of football but have to respect him he's a winner and he's won a truckload of silverware.

Downfall? Really? Jose Mourinho was 41 when he came to prominence at Porto after winning League Championship, Portuguese FA Cup and UEFA Cup in 2002/03, and added the European Cup the next season and joined Chelsea in 2004, on a 5 year deal. He won 2 League Championships, FA Cup and 2 League Cups before being sacked in 2007/08. He would later go on to manage Inter Milan, Real Madrid, return to Chelsea for 2 years, Manchester United and Roma. He added further Italian League Championships, Coppa Italia, European Cup, Spanish League Championship, Spanish Cup, English League Championship and League Cup, and League Cup and UEFA Cup at Man United and European Conference League at Roma. In 2011/12 he led Real Madrid to a famous League title accumalating over100 points. Now aged 61, he be back.

@@dazzaMusic Exactly. And he was never going to win the PL with Utd and Spurs. There's no way post 2015 Mourinho beats Klopp and Guardiola to a league title. The truth is he's declined in coaching ability and man management, and it's terminal. He's still a good manager, good enough to win a domestic cup and the Europa League. But the top prizes? The Champions League and a major league title in a competitive country like England, Spain or Italy? Highly doubtful. I think that time has passed. He was a great manager, now he's just a good manager. His record from 02-12 speaks for itself, but look at the drop off since then. His last league win was Chelsea in 2015. That's almost a decade ago, and he's never challenged for the league or CL since. His time at Madrid ruined him. He's not special anymore. I thought the sniping and moaning, the seeming lack of humility, the refusal to adapt, the constant grudges… it all became tiresome. Jose used to call out Wenger for only winning small trophies and now he can only win small trophies... Mourinho last won a league title in 2014/15, 9 years ago, he's got to accept he's past it

Those United players that underperformed, did José a dirty. This doc abt Mourinho has me respecting him again. I sort of know how he feels. Stamp your authority on who you manage. Those superstar players at United grew a bit of an ego. They should have just bowed down and followed instructions(and accept the abuse). People are very difficult to manage. you need THEM to show how good you are. But if they dont want to, u screwed. A Manager needs utmost respect to do his job. His "Special One" label was NOT as arrogant as I thought before. It was said very casually, and the press went for it. He proved them wrong. He is still the special one. Keep fighting José!!!

In Italy, fans of 17 teams were happy that Roma had signed Mourinho because, with him, they were considered almost a "soft" team. Despite having strong players, they managed to play very badly and it was quite easy for everyone to get points against them. He won the Conference League because he played against unpresentable teams: Trabzonspor, Bodo/Glimt, CSKA Sofia, Zorya Luhansk, and Vitesse. He was extremely lucky against Leicester and in the final he faced a very normal Feyenoord. The value of these teams was many times lower than that of Roma in economic terms. Even Leicester is worth more than 100 million euros less, despite playing in the Premier League. Moreover, he has made Italian football more hostile due to all his fantasies about the conspiracy against him and Roma. He has been one of the most ridiculous and toxic figures seen in Serie A in the last 30 years.

They also said its over for acceloti but............ Just know that mouriho had not been allowed free playing since his Chelsea Doctor downfall in 2015 as the fans have always turned the clubs against him, and mind it roma never took care of him in getting him valuable players not to mention quality players. Yet, maybe its an honeymoon period or probably am right as we might see, it appeared mouriho, as confirmed by the uecL and back to back euro finals for roma, it seems mouriho got the best out of the roma players that the new coach ( de rossi) is now enjoying with about 7 wins out of 9 and only 1 loss. The media and the former bad fans at man United and Tottenham couldn't let the roma players give their best respect for mouriho by playing all their hearts much as citizens players does for pep because they carried over a bad labelling for mouriho unto roma. Yet, he wasn't assaulted at roma as he was in earlier 2 clubs. Moreso, the people that were on mouriho at man United, Tottenham, and even the late Chelsea spell in 2015 could now see that mouriho wasn't the problem at those places as non is doing well currently except a moment of epL and ucl at Chelsea. The terrible fans are off his back and i can only expect him on a new restart of life at a new bigger club - Liverpool, Chelsea, bayern, even psg and maybe Madrid should acce gat to leave. Once mouriho could do his job without those terrible fans and media, you'll find out hes better than pep. Mouriho has been compared with some numbers of one season coaches since his assault-times at man United and Tottenham, but now, where are all those one season wonders. Tuchel, neggelsman, ten hag, poche, flink, etc. There's only 2 coaches that have measured up to mouriho since his 2015 Chelsea downfall and thats pep and klopp. Acceloti is a third but he was also said to be useless until appointed by Madrid. Klopp may be another benitez but at least until he leaves Liverpool before we can confirm. Aside those real 3 equals to jose performance since 2015, which othwr coach have been consistent as mouriho was >>> 1. 2015 epL trophy at Chelsea and carabo cup 2. 2017 europa and carabo at United 3. 2018 epL at man United to be confirmed in 2025 by man City ban. 4. 2021 carabo cup final at Tottenham unplayed 5 days to the cup. 5. 2022 uecl cup at roma 6. 2023 back to back euro final europa cup negatively lost to sevilla Who else is consistent. Once he have a decent job just as Acceloti, then you shall all see that his downfall was just a product of haters attack.

He is a winner no question about it but he wins with boring football. For me how you win is as important, because football is also enterteinment but this is very subjective of course. I just wouldn't like him on my team cause he would make us play like a small team. I remember one semifinal with Barça he played with 10 defensive players and Drogba. His number 10 that game was Ramires... hahahah NO thx! (he lost btw) And for people that says he's better than Guardiola because he coached teams like porto or roma that doesn't make any sense. The difference is that Pep doen't need to go that "low" because he was never fired in his carreer not even once, Mourinho was fired several times. If I have Senna or Hamilton as a driver you don't give him an Opel Corsa to drive, you give him a Ferrari or a Lambo.

It isn't mentioned here, but he didn't really overcome Barcelona in Spain- his Madrid put a dent on Barcelona's crown, but that's it (a league, a cup and a supercup on 3 years at Madrid, while Barcelona won everything else). Also, he leave Madrid on bad terms with the fans, the team and the president, so his "3rd year curse" was already happening. I'm not sure because I wansn't following the premier at the time, but I think he also was on bad terms with the time at the time he leave Chelsea for Madrid.

Look at his career and you find the clubs he was sacked from are the clubs that sack managers , the clubs that win things don’t sack their managers because of a bad season or two. Football has moved on and players run the dressing room at the top clubs and that was always going to end badly for a guy with his personality.

He was a great head coach and he still is, in his own way. But I think he didn't manage to outgrow himself in some ways and his mentality and philosophy didn't change that much over the years. Soccer is evolving, but he didn't evolve enough, I think. And I wouldn't call it "downfall" for this reason.
