Shreegauri Sawant, a radical catalyst in the battle for transgender rights, raises some daunting questions in this fiery talk, seeking for a shift in the outlook towards the members of the transgender community. She calls for the need to rethink the harsh general treatment faced by the trans community in our society and the need to redefine our actions to help redesign and transform the difficult lives of transgender people, making the society we live in a more inclusive one in its entirety. Gauri Sawant is a transgender activist from Mumbai, she was the first transgender election ambassador for 2019 Loksabha Election Selected by Election Commission of India.’ and was also the First transgender to file a petition in the Supreme Court for adoption rights of transgenders and was also a petitioner in the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) case in which the Supreme Court recognised ‘transgender’ as the third gender.’
