This video has the version DGR played as being uploaded Jan 5 2024, I sincerely hope there was a version that Geek was able to play and stream for her retirement that's gonna show up on her KZfaq in the next video or two.

Anyone who wants to explain how the changing level works? I mean I technically did it with checkpoints and on off switches, but how do you make it change after pressing start over?

Changes after restart usually trigger in specific ways (often knowledge checkpoints), requiring both positioning & action detectors (so it can't be found by accident). After the action, in a specific position, in this one (duck next to the pipe), the Switch state changed, altering how the level works. Others achieve changes, with entity limit shenanigans & exploiting frames Red Coins count towards that limit (probably also going on in this level). Don't have certain coins, a few things can't load; do have the coin/s, new stuff loads, & trigger changes. Have different coins, other stuff loads, or loads in an altered sequence, & more new things happen.

If you count the start over knowledge checkpoint, there are 6 checkpoints in the level.

Technically, it had 5, if we count the going back to the begginiig to start the *changes* , so it isn't that off that it felt like it had 6 XD

Oh DGR has played quite a few of Shadekitty's troll levels, and levels made by the Japanese creators he collabbed with. I highly recommend looking them up!

He did great, but it also helped that he was collabbing with all the best Japanese troll makers. The Japanese in the title reads their group name, "The Masters".

@@remus_lupin Oh so it’s like really complicated glitchy stuff I see. The on off switch method seems not to complicated if you can figure out how to make specific action and position detectors, such as rotten mushrooms and jump detectors. But the other method, is probably really glitchy and complicated

Actually, Red Coin shenanigans usually aren't glitchy, & some aren't complicated. It's more of exploitation of limited computing resources. It just takes a lot of screen space & tons of certain kinds of objects, to manipulate item loading. And insane amounts of time to sequence things & build a level around. It is complicated, but only some relies on glitches. And why complicated troll levels look odd. Almost everything you see, & don't, are in the level for a purpose. Different kinds of objects, including ground & enemies, have load in priorities. Those can be manipulated by using objects that either are always loaded (are or touching global ground) or only loaded when you're near it (must be on screen or within 4 blocks of the screen edges). If you fill screens you never see, with objects that load as you want, you can cause things not to load sometimes (coin is there), but differently, on a later visit (grabbed & saved coin). A lot of Switch changes are frequently hidden, with sound effects, too. Additionally, where Mario starts on the screen can affect how things load, as well, with careful setup. This is part of why you'll see checkpoints hit back- to-back. It's manipulation of what screen Mario starts on, after death. Also, you can force things out of blocks, to accomplish the same thing, but that usually seems to need a glitch (like to simultaneously empty a thousand blocks, for example). With that much in memory (or spawn limited), other things can't load. That's how ? Blocks with nothing in it, sometimes, but what you need others, can be done. Too much loaded, so the power-up can't spawn. Certain kinds of troll levels are insanely complex, off screen, whether they use glitches or not.

I was able to download this level on time before it likely gets removed, but I just hate how I can’t at least view the level. Like I am not going to reupload it okay? Just let me see it. I miss mario maker 1 for that.

Yes, Ahoyo said publicly that TTH was uploaded with TAS. All non-TAS levels have now been cleared. Some players are still attempting to clear TTH legitimately.
