I’m liking this trend in Gunpla. RG is becoming mini MG, MGEX is mini PG, and then maybe PG can ascend to another level.

Hey Mecha, you should try to shine a blacklight at the deactivated psycho frame. A Chinese review of the MGEX shows that the psycho frame glows blue when a blacklight is shined on it.

I just built this kit. He’s not kidding, building around a led wiring system makes the building experience more difficult. Professionals ONLY!

Awesome review!!! This kit is incredible if you can afford it, and it really does look amazing with those decals and lights on!!! The various aspects of the kit you went through were very comprehensive and answered most of the questions I had about it! I was completely on the edge of my seat as you tested the articulation!!! This review inspired me to buy the model so I'm currently building this MGEX and I can honestly say: it does feel more on par with building a PG. Building around the flexible LED strip adds is a whole 'nother level of difficulty, but I know all the effort will be well worth it once all is said and done.

I watched this video three times before I finally couldn't control my impulses anymore. So far, I've built the base and the torso and I have to say that I agree that this build is extremely refreshing. There's so much fantastic undergating to all of the external armor panels and I swear I've done virtually zero nub clean up on any of it. The worst I've had to deal with is that harder dark gray plastic in the MS cage base and shield stands. But for the Unicorn itself? The parts are coming out extremely clean and I feel like that alone helps justify the price of this kit. Also, I don't find the build to be very difficult. It's mainly getting the LED strip to line up exactly where it needs to be that I find a bit annoying. Needle nose tweezers help a lot. It's gotten easier as I go though. The worst was just getting the cockpit and lower torso situated around the strip at first. Anyways, thanks for what you do. I thoroughly enjoy your videos.

I need a version without the led and pre-colored psycho frame though, seeing you carefully handled it to make sure the LED wouldn't snap made me feel stress already.

There should've been an actual folding/unfolding V-fin for a kit that pricey.

For the transformation it actually comes with two different cockpit seats in case you wanna take the whole torso apart and change it.

Also I second that idea of releasing barebones version of MGEX Unicorn. Maybe more people will be able to afford it, bc honestly a lot of MG kits need a 2.0 or 3.0. Thanks again for the review!

I just got into gunpla a couple of days ago. I went to a pretty well known hobby store in my area that has a huuuge selection of gunpla and this 10 year olds mom got him this off the shelf. I was like daaang this kid makes me look like trash probably 🤣 His mom said he was actually pretty good at it. Props to that kid.

BTW the forearm beam sabers are the only ones accessible during Unicorn mode. The backpack ones are only usable once it has entered destroy mode.

I just ordered mine! The RG Full Armour was my second kit. Then I built the MG Phenex , ang my MG Ver Ka Banshee F.B is on its way! Going to look good with them all together

dude i owe you so much. i watched Unicorn and never saw RE: 0096. if it weren't for this vid i would have missed out on RE: I AM which has very quickly become my 2nd fav Gundam opening. i think i've listened to it like 100 times over the past 4 days

I've only just started with the gunpla hobby and for a first model I thought I would jump straight in with a MG. It was the perfect choice for grade but the model I went for really wasn't the best pick. Little did I know how old of a kit Zephyranthes was. I didn't let it put me off and after finding your channel I now have RG Tallgeese and HG Beyond Global under my best and can't wait to get more. I think the Wing Zero EW Ver Ka released in Nov will be my next one.

I've got mine 3 weeks agon and I've already finished building the base, stands for the shields, chest, arms, legs, and head in just 2.5 days. All that I have left to build is the backpack, weapons, and cage. Not to mention doing some panel lining as well

MGEx 00 kits gonna have alot of Extreme points to incorpor.... But imagine the MG Virtue/Nadleh...

My predictions for more MGEX Kits Banshee Full Armor (Premium Bandai) Phenex (P Bandai Exclusive) Perfectability (Gundam base) (Basically anything Unicorn) Exia 00 Gundam Gundam 00 Quanta (Basically anything with a GN Drive) Destiny Gundam V2 Gundam Strike Freedom Gundam (Basically anything with the Wings of Light)

Definitely going to save up for this one. I hope they continue this new line, as I do like seeing just how much innovation they can pack into these kits. Also, had a thought for a video you could do from time to time. We all know that some kits eventually fall apart, or otherwise fail to maintain their original level of quality. A prime example of course is most early real grades. Because of this, I was thinking you could go back to a couple of older kits every few months or so just to update people on how they're holding up. Tell us how long you've had the model in question and how much posing and such you've done with it so we have a clue to how long a given kit might last and how much abuse it can take before it's initial level of quality begins to fail. Call it "Throwback Updates" or something.

I light up the megasize Unicorn using around 80 LEDs. I repainted it with the same color and deymm I can't get enough just by looking at it! Definitely a head turner!

Fyi if you didn’t know what those gray fins which Katoki is known for coming out of the chest are, those are called Vortex generators and their purpose is to help keep a stable flight on an aircraft by pulling high energy air to the aircraft’s boundary layer and reducing / delaying stall

For those who are uncertain, the 1/48 Mega Size is basically a massive High Grade kit. Meaning it can’t transform, the V-Fin is one solid color, you can paint the back with white, so there’s that. However, it does have a little more technology than being just a massive HG kit. I don’t have it, nor do I plan to get it, but you do you. If it’s your first model kit, then you’ll need some shelf space. But, the pieces are very large, so you’ll (hopefully) have a good time building it

I was on the fence about this one in fear that it would just be a reissue with lights, but im relieved to see its a brand new mold and holds solid.

I'm planning on saving for this in the future. It's nice to have something to save money for instead of hasty purchasing.

I would legit want to see a MGEX freedom or strike freedom. For their extreme points, it would probably be a shit ton of effect parts.

I'm completely blown away by the proportions of this new Unicorn. The old mg was always lacking something, this one has thicker legs which reminds me of Megas XLR. Is this model itself considered Ver. Ka and does anyone think it'll be released without all of the expensive stuff?

I'd love to see a release of this without the LED strips and a colored plastic psycho frame. It would blow the Unicorn Ver.Ka out of the water, and hopefully be a little more manageable in price.

Just a side note for anyone, but the kit also gives you two options for the cockpit in either destroy mode or unicorn which I thought was pretty neat. Also Mecha I gotta say this kit is pretty lit. Literally especially

I feel like the master grade unicorn gets too much hate. The one I built feels pretty solid and looks pretty good. The transformation is a bit eh but still kinda underrated.

Its a EXTREME pain in the ass to your wallet, but looks like one hell of a build
