Preach! I can't understand how people say it's just business when unsustainable business practices literally make businesses lose money in the long run. It's not about this quarter, it shouldn't just be about the next quarter, it should be something we're building to continuously make money for the future if that's the goal right? What's the point of money if we are all dead?

In the next decade, tough decisions are going to have to be made about some of these vulnerable areas. Florida is built on porous limestone and swamp, it's not a stable place to build large cities and good infrastructure. As these storms get more frequent we're going to see huge amounts of property damage, especially beach homes. At some point insurers are going to stop covering it, and the government should do the same and work on relocating people to more stable cities.

I wish people would pay more attention bc so many think climate change won’t affect them but climate change affects everyone.

Unpopular opinion- people shouldn’t be allowed to purchase land directly by the ocean or in parts of the country that are high risk for natural disaster unless they front their own bill when disaster strikes. Both insurance company payouts or government assistance directly affect the rest of us

Umm question haven't hurricanes existed prior to humans even existing? How do we know which part of a hurricane is because of climate change and which is just a natural part of a hurricane?

Do weather machines or cloud seeding affect climate change?

I'm from Mississippi and I went through Katrina I also went through Hurricane Camille when I was 6 years old and they're saying it's just going to get worse and worse and worse I've moved to California where now I have to worry about wildfires but the thing is is all my children and grandchildren except for one or in Mississippi horrifying and half of my grandchildren live on the Gulf Coast

Here's a solution. Evacuate the entire state and let it return to the swampland it was meant to be. I'd like to see a study on all the money spent and how much rebuilding has been done over the last 100 years. I'll bet you'll find that that the entire state has been rebuilt at least 4 times over.
