N's sword in FR is honestly the correct pick. It's got Aegis power fueling it, it's got the user's own emotions fueling it, AND it's Lucky 7's older brother. It's so based. Not to mention, it's literally drawing power from the Collective Unconscious. The only reason N didn't win against Noah is because of his doubts. He was terrified of himself and the things he's done. If he just accepted it and learned to take that insecurity and push himself forward with it, he'd've been unstoppable. N beat out literally all the Founders at once, he solo'd the Lost Numbers raid on the Kevesi Castle, and he stood up to Lv. 3 Interlink between Noah and Mio, post M-ification of Mio. Had he not literally wanted Noah to win (plus his wife committing self-die), N would be the winner there. Heck, there are odds he coulda killed Z himself if he wanted. He was just terrified and clinging onto his safety net: the Now. If that's the kind of power and cool factor we're talking about, N's sword wins out, 100/10. N was a mess of a man, with too much power to handle what with his insecurities. A stronger man, honestly one like Noah, would've given that sword the master it deserved.

Also, leaving it in the sheath woulda been fun, because then you could do what the Swordfighter class did or even A with her stolen animations. Also, all the Moebius had special powers, M being the biggest example but T with the soulhacking, D and J with their OP perfected Interlink, O and P with their warped Interlink, X with the control... N probably had some NUTTY tricks up his sleeve that he never used. N coulda been like twice as powerful if he just tried. N and M Interlinking would've been SCARY. Plus, an all natural version of the sword Z gives him (Interlinking and then doing what Noah's Ouroboros does where he draws through the core) would be extra stupid. A shame that he and M were so different, after becoming Moebius. N was a changed (maybe deranged) man, and M was both mad at him and also trying to help their enemies. That Interlink couldn't happen. But if it HAD happened... That'd be based.

@@KaroxNightshadeI thought that Z basically gave him the interlink sword on the second battle in base Xenoblade 3. While Noah's represents Ouroboros with Melia and Nia's keys, N's represents Moebius with both keys. Essentially the interlink combines Melia's key with Nia's because Melia made the swords and Nia made the stones. Z basically just gives N admin so he doesn't need to interlink to get the full power of Origin. I basically saw it as the sword of Origin is when someone is using the blade to protect the Endless Now and Moebius and keep everything frozen, while the sword of the End is when Ouroboros goes from simply resisting Moebius to actively trying to destroy the endless now and let Origin continue on it's original programming and plan, essentially Moebius are afraid of Origin's intended purpose while Ouroboros embrace it and have hope that it'll succeed. While in the beginning it's more about soldiers not wanting to kill each other and such and being free of that but around the end it's surprisingly even more drastic than that and the real question becomes are you willing to sacrifice the status quo for a brighter future? As the game continues it's revealed that Aionios is essentially met to be stagnant and essentially is a lack of response to the crisis plaguing the world, as the Annihilation events slowly consume the world the soldiers are left too concerned fighting each other keeping themselves occupied with the Adrenaline of battle rather than the grim circumstances of the environment they live in. Further along this even the people remain stagnant and if it weren't for Ouroboros eventually founding the city the same people would die and come back and continue fighting keeping things in even more stagnation, reinforcing that Moebius's true goal is the preservation of the status quo and fear of Origin's true purpose. Throughout the game we see many Moebius but I believe the Moebius who represented Moebius the best were N and Triton respectively because of how they were humanized. Triton and N(to a much greater extent) both represent Moebius in it's most pure for in my opinion to the extent that they aren't truly happy with the endless now and truly recognize their own fear. Triton originally just didn't want to die and go on more adventures but as he killed others for his sustenance and slowly watched annihilation events destroy the world he ultimately regretted becoming Moebius, and N is an even better representation as he is literally just regret. As mentioned previously N is the #1 Moebius of Keves possibly in general and he in fact was an Ouroboros before, the truth of N was that he'd be alright in the Endless Now as long as Mio was beside him, letting Origin continue meant that he'd never see Mio again along with the possibility of everyone he loves dying of Origin failed, rather than risk losing anything he'd rather protect what he has even though it isn't sustainable. We see that throughout the game as annihilation events take place and Moebius even utilizes the annihilator, while Moebius may seem surperior at the moment, the truth is that slowly whether it be through interlink failures or time Annihilation events will accumulate and everyone will die Aionios genuinely isn't sustainable but for N he's willing to go thorough with it at because he feels as though he has more control in the stagnation. As the game goes on and N watches Noah who is essentially himself in better circumstances and less mental burdens succeed he immediately turn to rage, watching this Noah succeed makes N confront more aspects of himself he doesn't want to accept to which he has to self justify, he has to justify his fear of moving forward whether that be in his personal life or directly in allowing Origin to continue with it's plan of destruction and recreation. Throughout the game while N does seem happy at certain moments his eyes are completely washed out in most, N hates himself for being afraid of moving on as he is painfully aware of his choice to protect the endless now, the system that has oppressed him, but he is simultaneously afraid the reach toward the future, as he sits in his comfort zone as the world slowly falls apart. Even in the game in the Caldisia region especially we see evidence that annihilation events are likely eroding some of the small islands and spots from the world and Z deliberately crashed Origin into the Cent-Omnia region which drastically decreased the lifespan of Aionios in itself. Ultimately the Aionios at large had the accept that the system created to maintain the status quo was failing and furthermore have faith in Origin's ability to save both the world's and take the risk that both universes be destroyed (which ultimately paid off).

The Sword of Origin / Sword of the End is always really confusing to talk about because of little information and how many names it is given. Both N's own sword and Noah's lucky Seven exists at the same time, and are called the same thing, but seem somehow different. The reason the sword has two contradicting names in English is because in Japanese it is spelt as "Sword of the End" but pronounced as "Sword of Origin". A sword made to end reality, made from the metal of Origin. Makes sense in that language, but very hard to translate properly without being confusing. So that explains some of the weird name stuff with the sword, but N still has his own sword distinct from Noah's Lucky Seven, with a different model and different origin. It has a name pre moebius Noah gave it, but we never hear it. So unlike Lucky Seven there is no unique name to call it by. In fact there is a lot of weird stuff going on with the first Sword of the End. Its was used by several pre moebius Noahs who were killed by Z, and implied to have Logo's power. It also has the moebius symbol on it for some reason despite Noah using it to fight moebius alongside early Ouroboros. We don't really know how Noah got that sword across several lives either. Z ponders this question in FR and while doing so says Origin brims with the will of those who are unto Gods. So either the Noahs had the sword appear in front of them due to the will of those in Origin, or was given the sword by the Queens who had yet to go into hiding. Compare that to Noah's Lucky Seven which was for sure made by Melia, and infused with the souls of people precious to her. No Logos or moebius power involved. L7 has a different model than the other Sword of the End in its normal state too. The power of Pnuema is not part of the sword, but instead the sheath Riku made (possibly from the Ouroboros Knuckles of Mathew). When N and Noah fuse, the other sword disapears, but Lucky Seven gains a new art despite not looking different. It may of gained the Logos power from this, but we don't know for sure. This then leads to the question of if they are connected. The two seperate Swords of Origin both can change shape and size when using Ourobors power / Moebius power, and fuse together. Are they really seperate or the same metaphysical sword that can manifest in different places in different times? Like how Ontos created and powered Zanza and Meyneth's monado. Our Noah never truely draws the "real" L7 until the begining of chapter 6 when he resolves to destroy the world. If anyone else had that resolve, could they draw it too? Is the real Sword of the End tied to the metal, or a concept? Is it really the enemies we made along the way? TLDR, swords are confusing.

yeah there is a fine line between enticing mystery and confusing. considering how well written the series is in general, sword of the end feels like the writers didnt really know where they were going with this plot thread. and at least if the designs showed consistent transformations/evolutions, but there is conflicting visuals, like early noah using mobius sword pre-mobious. unless that was to imply his heard would be swayed to mobious eventually. when i dont think too hard about it, i can enjoy the swords' roles.

@Fermin-hw5pd there is actually a theory that one of the pneuma cores may be playing the role of Logos and it isn't necessarily Logos himself. So basically Mathew/Noah would have let's say Pyra's core and N could have Mythra's core. Or it can switch between Noah having Mythra and N having Pyra.

Theory If the Sword of the End is similar to the Monado, bending to the users will, like Shulk's Monado during the chapter in Prison Island, I think N's sword changed between Future Redeemed and the base game due to some change within him. My guess, his regret for killing Gondhor and inadvertently destroying the city

That's a good theory, something must've changed from the powers of Pneuma and Logos combining, all human pieces of Ontos no longer having a presence, and the Noah coming into existence even with N still being alive and Moebius. Not to mention like you said, his regret from killing Ghondor but not just that, the constant amassing guilt and regrets. All the way up to his breaking point.

I think I'd go with the Monado, ultimately. From a gameplay perspective, the techniques of Enchant, Shield, Speed, and Armor provide a wide range of support techniques that I quite like, while other more offense-oriented Monado Arts tend to provide relevant debuffs. In this way, it seems more adaptable to a wide range of scenarios, which, as someone whose favorite series also consist of Kirby and Mega Man with their versatile ability copying, is definitely something I appreciate. Of course, on a more narrative level the other swords do have more versatility than what is shown in gameplay alone, but these also tend to be more vague while the Monado's specific abilities tend to be more front-and-center throughout the first Xenoblade. Also, I guess on an even more personal level I don't particularly like swords that much, and with its supportive and even projectile abilities the Monado is the sword here that needs to be used AS a sword the least. I do tend to be a dedicated Support Main, but Sharla is not so great to play as, so party buffs and enemy debuffs with the Monado it is!

Hey man this video was so good! It actually really cleared up some small confusion about the design variance between the swords in base game and Future Redeemed! (And I'm a very core Xenoblade fan) I also liked how FOR ONCE someone compared the swords in not JUST power, how strong they are ect. You actually acknowledge the thematic side and cool-factor. That's so rare and I really appreciate it (subscribed!) As for my pick? Definitely the lucky 7, specifically the one that you use in normal battles like with Noah 's talent art. Why? It's all due to how cool the animations are! When Noah first pulls it out and glides his hand across the blade, and the piece of his sword turn into his gauntlet...oh man! And then as Harry McEntire himself says all the time on stream when he's playing Xenoblade 3 is he loved the 'Dimension Ripper' animation! He calls it 'metal as heck!' couldn't agree more hahaha

And you're completely right, out of pure cool factor I think Lucky 7 for sure is at the top, and you get the GAUNTLET too? It was so cool they had to have Link steal that drip, so good. They did the art animations so much justice for the gameplay implementation too

The spiritual journey that Noah and N go on throughout 3 and FR, and that thematically playing out with their swords, means I'm definitely picking Lucky Seven. 5:46-5:55 i just watched the video again, since i randomly looked up the art/render for N 1:11, then double checked in the "N going crazy at the castle" scene versus "N's final boss fight opening cutscene 5:52" and based on looking at the right angled triangle tip of the N's base sheath, versus Noah's regular triangle tip.... Ya it doesn't change in game from Future Redeemed 2:22-2:37 to the base game (hard to tell in the scenes in the video, but if you look at the scene where N screams "MIO!!!! All i did...i did for you😢" (from the scene at the agnus castle), you can see the right angled triangle tip version of N's sheath is used, and is used right up until the cutscene were he takes the sword from Z 5:30, then they both change to a more Mobius themed sword+sheath set 5:52). It DOES have the Mobius Purple Aura covering it normally though 1:37-1:47 (Noah's has the blue aura in fights), so that might be why you said it looks more like Noah's in the base game. 🤔 However, it DOES change to look more like Noah's (with the regular triangle tipped Sheath) during N's final boss fight. 5:53 If you look at it, it's a completely different sheath. (The new one has mobius strips going fully up the sheath, while his original only had on at the base of it) 5:24 his sword is changed in the cutscene, but it was always like that when he appears in the opening cutscene to his final fight. Meaning he got a power boast from Z, and the cutscene was updated to show N taking that power, by taking a sword of the end, closer in design to Noah's orbouros Sword of Origin 5:03. And his sheath also changes, for his final boss fight, to better match Noah's sheath too. For chapter 7, the sword+sheath change to match his mental state, after losing M and seeing Noah has become worthy of "The Sword of Origin? You are going to end it all?" 5:06 at the start of chapter 6. After that, N is broken but then is gifted with a mobius powered version of Noah's Sword of Origin (its changed from the regular version of the sword of the end to looking more like Noah's Orbouros version of the sword 5:30 vs 5:03). And N obviously takes it, comboing his Logos power with the power of "Mobius. The pinnacle of Life? The very world??!!" (5:10) to try and exceed Noah's new found power (with a new sheath based of Noah's current one too 5:52), only to fail miserably during his final boss fight and accept his death, merging with Noah.

yea that was kind of my biggest faults with xc3, the lack of more focus on the actual "xenoblade" for lack of better term lol. It is interesting to note when Noah draws the true lucky seven, he pulls out his entire Ouroboros core with it. This means that the core of his "true" sword of origin/end has the Ouroboros symbol on it, while N's got the Moebius symbol on it. It seems like the double meaning of End and Origin can be seen as the sword being bend by the wielders will. Like N saw Noah's sword of origin/end and immediately knew "wait you are going to end the world". While N is the one desiring the now so much, his sword of origin/end comes with the symbol to preserve it all. Z might have enchanted his sword with all Moebius will he could gather to preserve this world, making that it's shape.

Yea that is one detail I thought of legit right after I got this up, that they could synonymously have the Sword of Origin and Sword of the End respectively for Noah and N. But Y ends up calling Noah's the Sword of the End lol, which wouldn't necessarily disprove that, but you know, I get that they're both essentially the same but differ depending on the user's will and intention. Like N saying Noah will end the world, is just the true world's origin and restart once again. The Monado seems to be a good middle point since it has the capabilities for both offense and defense, but it's to difficult to use since all you need is to loose a bit of conviction for the power to dip. The Aegis's problem, as you said, is maintenance. You have to take care another being for the sword to have maximum output. The Lucky 7 - Sword of Origin/The End, is both physical and metaphysical, it has not as strong in terms of output like the other two but can still dish out some good damn when the user is in the right mindstate. That is true, but I think when looking back, N's sheathe in Chapter 7 is still the same even though Noah shatters it in chapter 5? Even more unsure cause in Future Redeemed, Z mentions how he doesn't know how the Sword of the End made it into N's hand, and Rex also refers to N's weapon as the Sword of the End. Anyhow, origin metal contains data equivalent to souls and so the origin sword contains power equivalent to all those people... So that's ANOTHER name, I kinda wish I brought that up now but it isn't really what the video's about but it would've been funny

@@MetaSF_ Concept art of the sheath from the artbook where you can get a good look at the sheath has been posted online Anyways, the reason the sheath seems to look different in FR is just because he wears it with the cutting edge on the bottom, rather than on top like in main game. This is completely intentional as well, since the flashback in main game also shows it with the cutting edge facing down. I have no idea what the significance of the sword/sheath being flipped in main game is, though. And in chapter 7, he gains an entirely new sheath that looks a lot like Truthsinger.

Kind of question the idea that N's Sword of the End has the Logos core. Then again. If Origin metal is comprised of the data containing all life in both worlds, it could be a facsimile of Malos' power. Aionios itself uses locations from the previous games that shouldn't have existed in the way they do, at the time of the intersection. (e.g. Bionis' head, a fully formed Mor Ardain titan, Raguel lake) So it could be some record of the past was contained in Origin, and used to reform certain lost powers like Logos.
@MetaSF_
@MetaSF_ Жыл бұрын
Yea I was super skeptical about it too, but the sheathe looking really close to Malos' monado on TOP of the purple hues AND it heavily focusing on it having special power, on top of it showing Pneuma's core and as far as how much of comparisons there are being good and bad sides along with the core's place in the story, I kinda believed it. Plus it has to be somewhere, and it would only be poetic for the Pneuma and Logos' cores to clash again from Matthew and N to Noah and N. Part of my only issue with Future Redeemed is that it being the end to this saga, they just didn't clearly say certain things I think they should've

At first I also tought that N' sword had Logos crystal by the light alone. BUT In the final battle Rex says something like 'If only those 2 were here". And after the fight, when they were talking about giving their life force to Glimmer and Nikol, Rex says "If it was them..." - followed by a zoom to Mattew's and N's weapons. In both sentences for the spanish subs was used the word "ellas" wich means "they" when talking about plural female people, instead of using "ellos" which applies for plural male OR for including both males and females in the same group, depending on context. I read somewhere that something similar happened with italian subs but I'm not sure. And that's enough reason for me to believe that Matthew's fist and N's sword have Pyra's and Mythra's core crystal. But I don't know which one is which. Also I don't think that they took the trouble to give them 1 body each just to merge again into pneuma.

I think it's less that they used Logos' power, but more that the true power of Ouroboros was able to be manifested thanks to the combination of Logos and Pneuma's ether energy in sync. I heard a lot of people say that Noah's Sheath/Veiled Sword containing Pnuema's Core crystal, if that's the case then why not show it in the credits of Future Redeem like with Matthew's Fist of the End that the core Crystal of Pneuma appears. Instead it appears the symbol of Ouroboros. To me that's proof that Pnuema is not related to Noah's Lucky Seven that power comes from the will of the 7 persons Riku mention, 7 individuals important to Shulk, Riku and Melia, which are also empowering Shulks Monado Rex+. I don't need to explain it do i -_- And there is more, in at less the spanish translation the them that Rex always uses is the plural for females "Ellas". This leaves 2 options one Pyra and Mythra are powering both Matthew and N. Or 2, the Core Crystal of Pnuema, it's more of the representation of what she represents, spirit, and it's being more imply that it's the will of Nia and Melia on this last scene... Either way, i would like more confirmation regarding other translation if it's the plural for female being use and not a general for persons, like it's the case on the Spanish Translations, because if it's the case, then no Logos is gone, confirm.

Very interesting, and yea I know by the time of the main game even if that spot in Noah's sheathe was for the pneuma core, it was gone anyways so by then it isnt powering it. It's definitely more reliant on the Lucky 7 blade's actual power and connection to Origin and the lives within like Melia had told about. I do wish Future Redeemed was more blatant about saying or explaining certain things with it being the end of this saga. I think it needed it for sure but it still came out great. But still having some questions about some things specific to even just xc3 aint great but we do get the gist lol

Future Redeemed was pure tightly packed fan service. I actually found it kind of odd that they waited for XC3's DLC to give us all of that. With the way XC2 ended, they had us all thinking that the base game was gonna be just like Future Redeemed only longer so when it wasn't, it was sort of a let down. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED XC3. So much in fact that I put over 200 hours into it, but I did expect the kind of fan service that we got in Future Redeemed and I think it would have been good to space it out a little more.

I see what you mean, but after Future Redeemed it made me more glad that they did it the way they did because they wouldn't have been able to fit all of THAT into the base game and that's STILL with the fact that Future Redeemed could've been an even bigger and more expansive game than it was. Of course, they could've written a way to meld it all into one big cohesive piece, but they had so many ideas outside of the xc1 + xc2 fusion that man, I love that it was an original story that still combined the 2 games even if it was in a lighter way than it could've. But I completely get what you mean

You still didn’t seem to understand why Ontos was so powerful in XC1. That universe was more or less PURE ether. Ontos shaped it, so when the Monado is able to control ether, it is able to fundamentally shape reality. In XC2, the Aegises did NOT create the world; they are a part of it, and can influence probability through the ether that still permeates life, but it isn’t the fundamental building block of all matter in Alrest. Pnuema can shape _local_ reality, but that’s the extent of it, because unlike Ontos, she didn’t have full control of all of creation as a creator. It’s also why Alpha was incredibly powerful, but still not at the same level as Ontos was in XC1. Ontos’ core was a building block that helped set rules, but it didn’t make everything. It provided logic and helped hold everything in place in the instant where things would be remade. Logos, finally, was able to DESTROY on an atomic level whatsoever he wished, and somehow you forgot to mention that too. Also, Logos disintegrated into nothing after being critically damaged at the end of 2, so whatever form of Logos was present in Aionios was likely a reconstruction based on Pyra/Mythra’s data, kinda like Malos did when he had Pyra captured at Morytha.
@MetaSF_
@MetaSF_ Жыл бұрын
No I understand why Ontos was as powerful as he was, he both had a more direct link to the Conduit like Pneuma only in that form is able to do, but the Monado simply isnt all about its influence on the world around it being due to the ether construct. Me personally, regardless of that it was the will of the user is what truly made it powerful and not to mention, even without being able to conteol the fabric of the world due to the others not being as ether constructed as 1s, its power in abilities and arts through the form of ether emission is still essentially unchanged. That's why he was still so powerful. As far as Logos goes, even though it never explicitly says, even if it isnt the original it still contained enough power to harm Ontos and his own core through N's Sword of the End and his potent emotions. Ether emission above all else, still proves the biggest asset along with willpower, both ahead of reality manipulation by way of ether
