The thing to remember is that, for the societies they came from, Druids *were* priests. You could go full stars Druid and still maintain all of that priestly flavor. Pairing it with actual Cleric is just icing on the cake.

I’m in a game where the DM was like: “Oh, you wanna be a healer? Alright have a custom Ring that increases all your magic healing by a d6. And uhhh, Moon Sickle +2. Oh and Lifeberry works in my campaign.” His encounters do so much damage that I actually *need* to be this intense of a Healer. It’s kind of wild. We were level 8 and I healed the Fighter for about 300hp over the course of the fight. Oh and my current spread is 1 Life Cleric, the rest is Stars Druid. Tasha’s gives me Aura of Vitality. My vision for this character was to effectively be “Mother Nature.”

I love that you made a bad decision for flavors sake! That is a super win in my book. Flavor over function can make a character stand out to me.

I think a build using mercy monk for this challenge has some merit, haven't worked out the details yet but i think it works with the flavor.

Revisiting this video again: idea: DsSorc12/LifeCleric4/GrassDruid4. You have a full caster progression. 12 sorc allows access to Heroes Feast and sorcery point usage, Cleric and druid allows Lifeberry, standard support spells through Aid, Bless, Heroes Feast, Death Ward. That's the skeleton of the multiclass. Divine Sorc gives the juicy heal guarantee, and metamagics like extended and twinned options. Not to mention to set up a triage planned place through glyphs of warding shenanigans. Life Cleric for thick boi armor, bonus spell slots with channel divinity (if using the rules). Druid for aforementioned downtime Lifeberries, and bonus spell slots through short rest from grassland, wild shape, and companion for ranged touch spell actions, travel aid spells.

I like the build. I know that you prioritized the cleric part and I like it. IMHO it would be more effective with 1 life cleric level and 5 levels of druid. In this way so can have healing spirit boosted by life domain and aura of vitality by character level 6. From then you can decide which route to take. It's not a critique, your goals were very clear from the beginning, I was only suggesting a different route to be more efficient. At the same time more druid levels means no mass healing word and other cool stuff from the cleric . So both work very well in the end

My build would still use Life Cleric, but I would go with Wildfire Druid. The extra 1d8 from Enhanced Bond added to heals is necessary. There's no limit per day with it either. I made this type of healer for a campaign in a couple of weeks and I am excited! He has the Prismari Student background and has firebolt (in addition to produce flame) for that extra fire damage when healing isn't yet needed. I'm planning on going 6 levels in each and have the Remarkable Recovery for self-safety.

True priests also were often called upon to summon the wrath of god(s) onto people who opposed the faith. So, Mark of Hospitality Halfling, Life Cleric 1/Divine Soul Sorcerer 19. Life/Goodberry combo due to Hospitality Halfling, and then you get all of the arcane might of the Sorcerer, plus you can abuse Metamagic for certain Cleric spells, like an Extended Aura of Vitality or a Twinned Heal and so on.

DS Sorc would be my first 3, 1 life cleric, 2 star druid, rest Sorc. Looking at trying for 18 Cha, 16 Wis, 14 Con. This guy is squishy, but the variety of answer-solving spells! such as various healings and buffs, debuffs or control effects, my favorite being bane and mind sliver specific targets to take down.

i had a build like this but with one level of monk thrown in for the full healer in robes experience. the moon sickle is a great addition to the character as well, adding an extra d4 of healing so long as you hold it. i had the character be a priest of an agricultural deity (arawai from eberron) in order for the mix of druid and cleric to feel proper

I call it the LifeStars and build it the other way around. I build one level life cleric for the heavy armor proficency and saves, then go into Stars Druid the rest of the way, or at least until I'm satisfied. Lifestars is such a great healer it's crazy. I healed 20 HP with a single healing word before. Mix this with the Mark of the Sentinel Human and you have almost everything you need to be the ultimate support caster

I personally think shepherd druid is a good pick as well since it frees up your wild shape for utility or summoning a familiar. Additionally, spells like aura of vitality heal the entire party for a bonus action when used.

On goodberry with life domain, I have this combination give 40 berries. Also you can only eat 2 berries per day.

I took Knowledge Domain and just role play as a back line caster, no need to reskin the build. : )

I'd go with a more primal True Priest, and one that's not afraid to get into the thick of things. 5 levels of the Circle of the Sea Druid from the One D&D UAs, the rest into Tempest Domain Cleric. There's a fair bit of overlap between the Sea and Tempest spells, but the Circle of the Sea does get Lightning Bolt, which allows Tempest to get to it without having to invest in Charisma for the Sorcerer levels. It's a little like the Tempest/Storm Sorcery combo, but all you really need is Wisdom, and it trades in the Cleric/Sorcerer's mobility for really being able to yeet enemies around the battlefield. Focus on Wisdom, put in just enough Strength for Heavy armor, and put the rest into Constitution. Pick up Booming Blade through your feat/lineage/background choice. Grab Shillelagh as a Druid, equip a staff, shield, and some heavy armor. Take the Crusher feat for extra pushing shenanigans. At level 11, starting on the second round of combat, you can smack an enemy with your Booming Shillelagh, push them 5 feet with Crusher, deal Booming Blade's Thunder damage, pushing them 10 more feet from Tempest's Thunderbolt Strike. Take a 5-foot step towards them so they are within 10 feet of you, and then at the end of your turn hit them with the Sea Druid's Wrath of the Sea, forcing them to make a Con save or take Thunder damage (pushing them 10 more feet due to Tempest's Thunderbolt Strike) and then pushing them 15 more feet away from you from the Wrath of the Sea's push effect. Throws the enemy up to a net 35 feet away from you, which would leave you just outside the range of most humanoid enemies' movement (meaning they'd have to dash to get back into melee with you), but if your Booming Blade hit, moving towards you then triggers its secondary effect, hitting them with more Thunder damage and pushing them another 10 feet, making it so enemies have to have 45 movement to get back into melee with you without dashing in that scenario. And if they do rush to try to get back into melee with you, on your next turn you can just hit them with the combo again.

Once I broke a holy water flask on the ground and used shape water to make a holy water barrier in front of one allie in trouble fighting a demon weak to radiant.

I'd been wondering about a cleric/druid true healer multiclass build for a while now but didn't want to sit down and really work it out myself, for my own personal healer build I went for a 10th level build since no game I've ever personally played in has went above that so I took 7 levels in Twilight Cleric and 3 levels in Oath of the Crown Paladin, race is Protector Aasimar, main feat is Metamagic Adept (taking Quickened Spell and Distant Spell), background is Hermit for the proficiency in medicine and religion, 1st level of Cleric we take insight and persuasion and 1st level of Paladin gives us intimidation and athletics so we're a bit of a tanky healer that can also dish out some damage while using a shield to buff our own AC as well, I'd honestly maybe add 2 levels of Fighter just because Action Surge is ridiculously good on a build like this to take it to 12th level

So the 6th level cleric life domain is mostly just a buffer to keep us in the fight longer

I don’t get why blocking goodberry combo PC have to spend an action to get 4 hp by eating the berry. If 10 PCs eat good berry it is 10 actions without attacking. Sure is more powerful than healing word but you are making an investment level investment and on top of the healing is not free. You just need to restrict the amount taken in a single action. Since they will have to choose if they want to be healed or spend their action in another way.

I understand you are going for flavor here with thr worse defense. But i do want to point out that the Cleric has always been one if the better fighters in DnD. They've always been a front line character ever since the beginning. The Fighter in the original DnD gained a 1 to 1 attack bonus. The Cleric was a 2 to 3 ratio. This made them the second best frint line class. Later they came out with Ranger and Paladin. Pushing Cleric to 4th best. Then Barbarian made them the 5th best on the front line... Which is where they remain today. Monks aren't front line fighters in case peoole are wondering. The extra movement is untended to get to the front and hit then back away. Use disengage to slip back. Use Flurry of Blows in place if Disengage if the target is near death. Then move back. Rogues are intended to either be ranged attackers or flank and then strike the caster with Backstab.
