I'm really glad to see you give this guy a look, he's always been my favorite gunpla and it makes me smile to hear that he stands up to the MG standards of today. Also yes, this is meant to be a centerpiece for a collection, and it has been for mine. Whenever folks who have never seen my gunpla collection see it for the first time, they are instantly drawn to the Shin Musha. His design, his backdrop, the stands, and the plaques, they just demand attention. Also, funny you admired the Sengoku no Jin box art, but it was that box art that made me take finished kits, cut the top box art out (Specially MGs), and get the box art framed. Seriously, MG box art makes for some great wall decorations.

As a historian buff specially on the Japanese side, my god, those are a N E E D for me Anyone interested, here are the names of the weapons Naginata -imagine a katana but the handle is a spear Jumonji yari -a spear with two cross sickle Tanegashima teppō (or just teppō) -matchlock gun Tachi -older version of a katana with the blade facing down and much more profound curve than a katana we know today

This guy & the Musha Mk II are the centerpiece of my collection. They're just such rad, unique designs, & I would love to see them revisited in the future.

The MG Shin Musha Gundam Sengoku no Jin looks really cool. I really wish they would make a new _Gundam Musou_ game for the PS4. Weird how some weapons don't have a slot to fit into the hand peg. This kit definitely looks good, but the actual design shows it's age.

I just moved and this was the first kit I made in my new house. A brilliantly eye catching piece that's the first thing guests see when they walk in.

I actually got this kit for free because the seller accidentally sent me this instead of the MG Sinanju Titanium Finish version :) It's really nice looking, a set piece for sure.

I remember seeing this in the window of a Japanese hobby shop when I had like 10 or so years and it's been a dream of mine to own one.

Honestly, the backdrop might be my favorite part of this kit. Really makes it an amazing display piece.

Left sticker says "Shin Musha Gundam" which is indeed True Samurai Gundam in literal translation since this model is the upgrade version of Samurai (Musha) Gundam from the Plamo Kyoshiro series and considered the "true form" of Musha Gundam. The image you showed from Plamo Kyoshiro was the first iteration of Musha Gundam, Shin Musha actually first appeared in Dynasty Warriors Gundam (Gundam Musou) along with the Musha Gundam Mk-II (which is basically Titans coloured Musha Gundam).

Played this MS in Dynasty Warriors Gundam. I think it's suppose to be sentient and the 'beam rifle' is actually a bazooka.

Musha Gundam originates in the first Dynasty Warriors Gundam as the only one to originate in it. There's a second one from the second game, and the third adds the Knight Gundam

If it's based on an RX-78-2, then it can be MOD fitted with parts from the OYW, 2.0 or 3.0 to give it an articulation boost, might even make it a "mecha" instead of a "model kit"

I have the basic version of this MG and I have to agree with Mecha on this review. It was my first MG kit and boy did I have fun building it. Though I am planing on doing a bit of painting on it when the weather get better here in Texas.

This is totally a nitpick but the swords should be stored with the blade side up so the scabbard should curve downward instead of upward. The reason for this is to prevent the sharp blade from being dulled by knocking around inside the scabbard

Wanna play Gundam Musou now. Musha Gundam was a badass. Slightly bummed we didn't get one for the PS4 but I guess Versus Was supposed to be the proper gundam game this gen

@MechaGaikotsu The 3 "Gundam" characters are used across all of the SD Senshi series, which is entirely inspired by this model (I'm from Hong Kong & grew up there in the 90s; the SD series is *really* popular there for young kids). Musha itself exists in SD form in that series - starting with Musha Shichinin Shuu Hen, & subsequent names of the SDs are onomatopoeia of the english names. This model itself originates from Plamo-Kyoshiro from the 80s, which is one of the first spinoffs of the OG series - and features the customized gunpla battling concept that is now featured in GBF, GBFT, & GBD!!

I would like to see both Musha Gundams against Mazinkaiser Haou Hagane Works... Both Gundams will have their hands full against a bigger, more powerful mecha

I need an RG version of it... I oso hope Bandai come out with a series of Samurai Gundam...

The Gundam design is inspired by samurai and a truly samurai gundam is beautiful (edit didn't now you'd say that) but wish that bandai would make more kits of these and another gundam warriors game

What are the odds, I finished building this kit in the beginning of the week.

I have the original version of this kit without the gold plating. Mine was missing a part on the shoulder armor though. Love this kit! I really want the version II.

Just finished this one, the 'basic' version; extraordinarily good kit, but when I tried to use Tamiya panel lining on the thrusters they cracked and several broke. That's my fault, but it did put a damper on how good the final product looks.

Musha Gundam didn't premier in Gundam Musou 2. It actually was first seen in this form in the FIRST Gundam Musou game.

This and the Shin Musha MK 2, are two of my favorite MG's.

to be exact, the rx-78 o.y.w version is a mg rx-78 based on the ver.1.5 leg frame with a completely new(at least back then) upper body also, can you review the musha gundam mk-2 as well..?

I remembered when jabman reviewed this, he said the gold was ugly but from your video it looks amazing

Having some maroon to color separate the red would be nice.

I think Musha was from the 1st Dynasty Warriors Gundam. Mk.II was from the 2nd and Knight Gundam got added on the 3rd game.

I love love love that kit, but i really do not like the gold plated part, I bought the original one and repaint the gold part with a more metallic and bronze gold. I think that fit the model way better

I saw one at my local anime goodies store last week and was thinking of maybe buying it. Thanks for the review, now I’m hoping no one grabbed it between last Saturday and now. Two complaints though, those fucking hands, I hate them. I wish there were more fixed pose hands for mg. Also the ball joint thighs. I have an older mg my aunt got me as a kid and fuck it’s a pain to do a good pose with it.
