Thanks to their insane magnitude of wealth, a billionaire’s cost of living is a bit different than ours. They only pay $18,000 for a mansion, $3,000 for a private jet, and $20 for a Ferrari - at least that's what it feels like to them.
In this mini-documentary, we take a look into the lifestyles and finances of the ultra rich and reveal the true scale of their immense wealth in a way that you might have never considered before.

“Money can’t buy happiness” is the biggest crock of b.s. Money buys you a jet ski and have you ever seen someone not happy on a jet ski? 🙄
@6we
@6we Жыл бұрын
A jet ski can provide temporary pleasure, but eventually, it becomes just another mundane possession in your life. The pursuit of materialistic goods for momentary satisfaction is a never-ending cycle, and money alone cannot bring lasting happiness. It is only when you use money to do things like supporting your family or retiring your parents that it can bring true joy.

@@AZunon not when you constantly innovate or find something else to do. I think if I'm in their shoes the best thing about having that much money is being able to fund even insane ideas and researches and not worrying much even if they're epic fails or not have any results for decades. I think it'll also be a good to challenge myself with limiting the money fund to return back to how it was in the beginning mindset thing. Like building a company with a hundred dollars. If they just hoard their money, they're probably very boring. I couldn't live that way at all. The point of money is to spend it, with just something save for rainy days, just rely on insurance.

When I hear people say money cannot buy happiness, I wonder if they’ve ever been homeless or in poverty? When you cannot eat or feed your child, money buys happiness. Poverty is unhealthy and blocks your ability to enjoy life. Money removes the barrier to entry for people lacking the basic needs. Money does not make you happy independently, but the lack of money can.

The breakdown is intriguing, thank you for the time you put into that. However, it wasn’t said in this video and is critical to note that the majority of a billionaires net worth is NOT in cash but primarily in their companies stock and assets. No billionaire sits on a billion in cash. That’s why a billionaire can lose $10B in just one day; it’s not a result of bad money habits, it’s a result of a stock price decline. Net worth doesn’t not necessarily correspond with cash flow. There’s been billionaires who’s companies fail and they assume a negative net worth

The life goal should be to invest, earn, save enough resources to not need to work for pay anymore. Going through life without passive income and having to follow others around and doing their orders is not a good way to waste one's life away. The wealthy get to do what they want to do and not be following others and their schedules.

Great video but you also forgot to mention eventhough an amount feels relatively low to them, they don't actually have that in cash. Billionaires have about 5% of their entire wealth is liquid whereas the rest is tied to their assets. Edit : Still an amazing video and makes you see their perspective is insane

Interesting data points. Where someone is merely in the top 10% in the US, he’s well into the top 1% in the world. And the top 1% in the US are almost at the top 0.1% in the world. Also, you failed to mention the more favorable tax treatments that billionaires get. That $20M jet likely costs the billionaire only about $10-12M after tax breaks.

amazing video bro! Loved how you ended with the whole perspective on things. I grew up poor but i guarantee my childhood is better than the billionaire kids. full of love and adventure. A billion to much and give you to much-unwanted attention. Ideally, you wanna make enough to eat and do your hobbies and travel, which is all possible just being normal. ONE LIFE TO LIVE SO BE ON THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS NOT JUST MONEY. I KNOW ITS A MEANS BUT IT NOT THE END.

Great answer😄👌, these videos do create some sort of happiness in young impressionable kids, but in reality, happiness comes from a stable life, good relationship with people around, family and friends, and honestly simplicity. Just like finland, they have enough to travel, live a dignified life, live in comunity and for the comunity.

Interesting video, but the figures mentioned for private jets (of the billionaires) are not exactly accurate. You displayed what seems to be a Dassault Falcon 2000 and mentioned a purchasing cost of US$ 2 million + budget of another US$ 1 million. A DA 2000 of the current series (ie the Falcon 6X) sells for no less than US$ 47 million. Now billionaires usually go for large cabin / extra long range jets such as the Gulfstream G650 ER or the Global 7500 (avg tag price = US$ 70 million), or even VVIP aircraft derived from airliners (BBJ - B737NG or ACJ - A319 etc) that can reach over US$ 100 million. The annual budgets to operate them - all inclusive (fuel, crew, insurance, hangar, airport fees and so on)- range from US$ 1.5 million to US$ 4 million, depending on the number of hours flown every year (that is why the operating costs are broken down in fixed costs and variable costs). Now few clients "buy" these goods. The big ones usually lease them (like an operational lease or lease with purchase option) and many big corporations establish exclusive funding sources for their corporate flight departments, which are usually run as a separate body from the other businesses of the conglomerate (the people from the airplane and from the hangar usually think and speak differently from the people at the office, so it's better to avoid the frictions)...it does not work as if a billionaire digs zillions in his/her pockets to pay for these mountains of expenses all the time, they usually secure the funding sources first, and then release the cash...just saying that in order to add some details, because it is my "industry"...

If they spend all the 5% returns, who woud factor in the inflation. Secondly, stocks dont give consistent returns yearly. Sometimes no returns for 10 years. In the meantime, if they just spend 5% yearly, especislly when it is down 50%, they will be bankrupt in 10 years.

I think you are a bit off. It would be more realistic to compare their cash flow from investments vs an average person's income. Dividends pay roughly 2.5%. So, $1 B would generate $25 M in dividends. That is more like 500x the average salary. Still a lot. The folks you are really talking about are more like $10 B and up.
@satyakammisra
@satyakammisra Жыл бұрын
No one with $1B is happy with 2.5 % returns. Most have double digits expectations. After taxes. So 1B can. Generate say $75M-$150M after taxes. That’s enough to buy a Gulfstream and a $35 million beachfront estate EVERY year!

Nahh, common its always a sensacionalist view about billionaires, like if they floated instead of walking🤣. They enjoy sitting around, talking to people and eating in a restaurant like the rest of us. Today lots of people can access a ferrari, or a private jet or a yacht, just have to rent it. Really the difference between a billionaire and a millionaire, is the size of their business, and the money available to purchase new business. Mikhail khodorkovsky the former richest man in russia, said this, the only reason you need billions of dollars, is to purchase more companies. 100 million is more than enough
