25 күн бұрынTama a calico cat was born in Kinokawa; on April 29, 1999, and grew up with a group of stray cats who lived near Kishi Station. They were regularly fed by passengers and by Toshiko Koyama. the informal manager of the station at the time.
Tama rose to fame as a station master and operations officer at Kishi Station, on the Kishigawa Line in Kinokawa in Japan. she died on 22 June 2015.

It might seem silly, a cat surrounded by so many important people. but doesn't it tell us of the meaning of life itself? Doesn't it tell us of the beautiful empathetic nature of humankind? That we share this world together with other species, and it's ok to take things as lightly and as loving as this beautiful legend of Tama the cat! ❤ life is short and bitter, so a bit of laughs and a shared love for a sweet cat is honestly a wonderful thing! @powerfulberry237 Yes, most people in the world would deem it strange or don't have the time to think of the animals. This wouldn't be on the news if it was common behaviour. It's a beautiful thing, where there's a moment to appreciate more of the happy and unusual things that surround us, life is hard, it keeps us at a stern pace where we forget to look around us and appreciate the little wonderous moments we encounter. But this cat, with its simple nature, brought a whole station to love it, bringing everyone together, then mourning Tama's loss, along many around the world. RIP sweet Tama 💓

My wife and I were lucky enough to visit Tama in 2013 and took some pictures of her. We were shocked to hear the announcement that she passed away in 2015. People around the world travelled there literally just to see her. I wish I have that kind of charisma.

I know exactly how they all feel... A few days after Thanksgiving 2021 I lost my beautiful silver tabby Musya who'd been mine for 14 years. Musya was 19. It's been over two years but I still miss her. I still look over my shoulder for her.

I LOVE JAPAN. I visited Japan in 1986.I was 14 years old, spent 3 weeks travelling everywhere , in Japan. The Japanese people are very honorable and made my visit one I shall never forget. When I boarded my plane to return home , to the United States, I cried so much. The Japanese are so friendly and everybody should visit Japan. I love this story about Tama. The Japanese are a great people.

@@leokoki2024 I walked into many of the temples , in Japan, very old temples... And I immediately felt a spiritual calmness , each temple I visited. I even visited the temple in Nara... Many deer all around, at Nara. Sadly, I actually met, saw a victim of Hiroshima, on the Bullet Train.. the man's face was badly melted , from Hiroshima.. he just smiled at me... Japan, in April( that is when I went.)is very pretty.. all the Cherry Blossoms on the trees.. bursting with pink colors.. Japan is very clean.. no litter anywhere..

I remember learning of Tama AFTER we visited Japan. I don’t know when we’ll get to visit again but I wanna pay respects and see her successor next time. It’s a cute honorary tradition at a train station, very pawsitive for the community 😊

Most Japanese people used to love dogs more, especially since Hachiko being popular back then. But I really hope they can love other pets too, not only dogs. This story from Tama is actually make that situation more neutral between dog lovers and cat lovers. Every kind of pets deserve to be loved, no matter what kind of animal they are.

I'd be crying a lot if I were there, especially I'm more of a cat person than a dog lover. I sad to see this but I'm also happy that they held a funeral for the cat. I think they should build a shrine for them as well so they are remembered over the years

me having 13cats ... I love cats ilove all cats let us love them because they are all sweet and heart warming and naughty my cats gave me tattoos full or scratch but ilove them all all stray cats became indoor cats .. i want them all to be happy and loved

Oh my god, I remember seeing the little guardian all the way back then in a TV show….. Knowing that they passed away when you know about them before when they’re still alive is heartbreaking… Hope you’re resting well up there💜
