The reason this ending is so good is because the “Producers” probably wanted him to have some sort of big speech to send the show off with a bang, one last win for them, but instead he just says his catchphrase.

None of this was planned by the producers. They certainly wanted him to return to the town and forget about escaping altogether.

Yup. The whole point of this show was to create genuine sincerity in a controlled world. And in the end, when he finally leaves the confines of this walled garden... What does he leave them with? Something corny and insincere, a pithy callback you'd see a scripted show end with. A cliché, nothing more.

its the biggest fuck you he could have done in this scene, the producers are wanting some grandiose finale or speech he just says something he has supposedly said tens of thousands of times before, to me its less of a goodbye to the producers and more of one to the people who watched the show, its a nod to the show itself and something he actually wanted to say not as a character but as a person about to step out of everything he's ever known and probably wont see many of them for a while or at all, yet says goodbye all the same.
