I remember back in Inuzuma and early Sumeru patches, Kokomi was always so high up in tier lists but when Baizhu came out he was ranked below her which blew my mind bc I got both of them and even before Furina came out Baizhu already became a staple in every reaction team other than freeze. He literally made my Kokomi a niche character I would unbench only for freeze. I think abyss usage rates came out to be a big shock for those content creators who overlooked him. One of my favorite team currently is Raiden quickbloom with Nahida, Furina and Baizhu. Baizhu is not just decent for me, he's essential for my comfort. Even if Nahida is the better offensive support, in practical usage most players would always prioritise comfort, and the abyss usage rates will reflect that.

In the context of Nilou Bloom, I find building Baizhu to be overall a downgrade or weaker pick. Yes, he’s more comfy, but it feels like there’s less control in the output of Blooms and I’m not able to pivot as fast as I’d like. What I mean by that is that Baizhu as a driver is overall going to be putting out less Blooms because Dendro is the stronger aura of the two. I don’t like pairing him with Xingqiu, as that requires building EM Xingqiu which means his ER will suffer. Likewise, with Kokomi or Barbara, there’s just no reason to use him as a driver in those teams. I also find Baizhu’s delayed Dendro application to be difficult in aura management as opposed to Collei, Kirara, or even DMC who delete Hydro auras fast and require little field time to do so. Overall, with Baizhu, he can be comfier but weaker in Nilou teams. I don’t have comments on other team archetypes though.

I prefer to play him in a team of 2 dendro + 2 electro (and ofc with Neuvillette). Baizhu, Nahida, Yae and Fischl is basically a team I use almost every single abyss. In my opinion comparing him to Nahida is like comparing Kokomi to Furina, you want to use them for different reasons. Speaking of Furina... Baizhu is a *really* good teammate for her. Prototype Amber R5 + Ocean-Hued Clam makes Baizhu go brrr. You can also slap a 2pc HP and 2pc Emblem on him for a very f2p friendly build and he will heal all your team like a dream.

Stats show that Baizhu is played more than Nahida for people that actually have him. I currently play more Baizhu than Nahida in my teams.

My Tighnari team used to be Nahida, Yae Miko, and Kuki Shinobu. Now it's Baizhu, Yae Miko, and Fischl. It feels infinitely better! A shielder makes a world of difference for Tighnari. Not to mention I that it felt like I was using Shinobu out of the necessity of needing a healer and/or shielder and she wasn't really doing anything else for the team.

I pulled for him the last time he was on banner (and got Jean while losing my 50/50). I like having different options for healers and shielders as it lets you set up different elemental resonances, get different kinds of buffing and support options, etc. I use him a lot with Tighnari, Furina/Neuvillette depending on the abyss lineup, and I’ve just leveled Keqing so now I’m trying him out as solo dendro in aggravate. It also has to be said that for the overworld his team wide heal on his skill rather than burst and his passive talent that heals the team when you forage is so convenient and easy to take for granted until I use a team without him.

I just got Baizhu and my Cyno premium team is now complete. My Cyno is stronger than ever. Cyno, Nahida, Furina & Baizhu. They all really buff my Cyno so much. Nahida for Elemental Mastery boost and main Dendro applicator. Furina for Elemental Damage buff and Hydro applicator for Quickbloom. Baizhu for increased Aggravate and Hyperbloom damage, healing especially for Furina to maximize Fanfare stacks, and Dendro Resonance which gives an extra 100 Elemental Mastery.

I started playing genshin not that long ago. When raiden was last in banner. And this banner is the first one I am skipping. Like from everything, these 20 days I’m saving every primo.

Nahida, Alhaitham and Baizhu (in that order) are the most valuable Dendro characters to have and they each fullfil a different roll. You only really need Nahida, but Alhaitham and Baizhu can be excellent options based on your account. I'm pulling for Baizhu either way and Alhaitham next patch, and even then I can still pull for Nahida for Double Hydro Hyperbloom, Alhaitham or Raiden. Good luck wishing!

Guys don’t believe whatever you see in yt😢 I pulled for baizu and regets it,his shield so negligible that my c0 neuvi suffers so much . I m back again with my layla as her shield is much thiccker and consistent . And about dendro application its not much its average.

Of course he's not nahida.... he's not meant to be. I have him c2r1 and he's enough dendro in general. Even c0r1 is plenty. Just need a little bit of ER% at best for uptime. But he is the zhongli of healers. Meaning you won't die UNLESS you are DELIBERATELY trying to. C2+? Dendro application is not even a remote issue. Besides, he's often paired with mahida or furina. Or both. He's just that valuable with everything he provides. Dont try to hype him up as an archon who's got ungodly uptime on application. Thats not hia job to be the archon 2.0

I respectfully disagree with the statement he has bad application, bc sacrificial and/or er sands can keep constant dendro!!! Plus his shield stop your characters from getting stunned!!!
