The past three Descendants films have given us plot twist after plot twist, and fans have taken it all in stride. However, one question the films have failed to answer through these plot twists is who exactly the main character Evie’s father is.
While the third film gave us the shocking reveal that Mal was the daughter of not only Maleficent but iconic character Hades as well, we still have no info on her gal pal Evie. In this video we’ll delve deep into the depths of the films easter eggs, fandom theories, and potential future storylines and might just have the answers you’ve been looking for and Disney has been hiding.
Are Mal and Evie half sisters? Could Beauty and the Beast’s vain Gaston be her father? We’re dissecting why exactly the Evil Queen was so obsessed with Evie finding a husband when she didn’t have one herself. I have a strong feeling that Evie and Mal are half sisters. It explains how close they are and how only Evie knew Hades was Mal's dad. And in D1, Maleficent and the evil queen seemed pretty close. And Mals hair in D3 did start to change to a purple blue color.

I’ve always gone with Leopoldo as Evie’s father, making Snow White her half sister. Evie seems very much like Snow White Is often depicted just not as naive

The first theory couldn't happen because Mal says that the villains were sent to the isle twenty years before the time descendants 1 was set. Plus Mal also says she was sixteen when she left the isle. So that means that Evie was born four years after the Isle was created meaning that Evie's dad has to be someone on the isle.

Here's a theory: Since Evie is the only one (before anyone else) knows Hades is Mal’s dad, it could be hades. Her hair is blue, and since Hades hates Maleficent, he probably cheated and had Evie with Evil Queen. Since Mal and Evie are close friends, and are like sisters, they would be half-sisters. Agree or disagree?

I saw the first movie of this series . . . I was wondering, does Evie ever meet Snow White? Aren't they technically stepsisters? I assume Evie was born on the Isle or perhaps she was a baby when Snow White ran from her stepmother, but I think they would both be interested in meeting each other.

She never did, the Queen Grimhild had spent 20 years in the isle and Evie is 16. She probably saw her during the coronation since Snow White was covering the event in TV but we never see her meeting Snow White

my fave headcannon is that her dad is hades. I mean, first of all, the villains were banished on the isle for 20 years. in the first movie, the four core are all 16 year olds. so they all had to be born after their parents were sent on the isle, right? and honestly I cannot imagine EQ being with anyone else besides the most powerful male there? idk its a nice headcannon.

Half sisters with snow white makes more sense than being half sisters with mal. I would love to see if the reason for the evil queen becoming evil is because the king died before evie was born and her despair formed into anger and the anger formed into hatred and she portrayed that anger and hatred towards snow white which then led to her demise. Also in the beginning of the first movie mal says that when they made the isle they "brought back" the villains which makes me think that they brought the dead ones back to life only to live in exile

Makes sense, in that Evie was the only other person who knew Hades was Mal's father, which could be because she was the other daughter of Hades. Does this mean Mal and Evie could go to Camp Halfblood? Does this mean they are cousins of Hercules and Percy Jackson? The plot thickens.

Personally I like the idea that Evie is Gastons daughter because it makes sense that Gaston would want to be with the fairest of them all, plus two of Gastons sons Gaston jr and Gaston the third were really nice towards evie on her first day of high school showing her around and sharing their lunch with her. It's possible that Gaston and the evil queen agreed to separate with Gaston raising the boys and the evie queen raising their only daughter

The reason behind the Evil Queen is revealed in the books! In the first chapter of one of the four books, it says a quote on quote: "The isle of the lost was worse than death, and some of the villains there were brought back from the dead so... they should know"

Update! There is a Descendants 4 coming out but absolutely different to the actual thing. There is a theory going around that the movie will might not be a sequel to the previous movies and have nothing to do with the storyline before, but there are some characters that were in the previous movies like Uma and Audrey, but the cast with Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, and Boo-boo Stewart will not be in the movie due to the sad passing of Cameron Boyce 😢

My thought is since Carlos wanted to become a vet his mother sent him to vet school. It takes a time span over 8 years. Although they would need to keep on mentioning Carlos and Jane

Actually there is a timeline in the Descendants franchise. In the beginning of the first Descendants movie, Mal said that all of the villians were banished to the Isle of the Lost 20 years after the events of their movies. In the Descendants books, it's said that the Fairy Godmother resurrected the souls of the villians who died in their movies & placed them on the Isle of the Lost to serve their punishments for their crimes. The VKs are about 16 years old in the first Descendants movie, which means that their parents had been on the Isle for four years already. Since no woman can stay pregnant for that much time, it's impossible for Snow White & Evie to have the same father. Therefore, they are stepsisters, not half sisters. Evie's father is definitely someone on the Isle of the Lost

i wish we had seen hercules, or snow, is unfai that we have not really seen almost any princesses and princes from the tales the parents of the main characters were from ( because from sleeping beauty is only audry and her grandma, but no aurora, and no the three fairies...) i would kind of like to see the the three fairies deciding to teach Mal good fairy magic( since maleficient is a dark fairy, but a fairy still). it would have beeb interesting to see Carlos (and that won't ever happen, sadly) befriending anita's and roger's kid and ending up loving to play with some dalmatian puppies. and why do we only get the son of a dwarf from snowhite? the only problem I can see with that theory is the fact that in the books both mal and Evie were six years old when the evil queen wouldn't allow evie to invite mal to her birthday party and for Hades to be both Mal and Evie's father it would have to mean that he was shacking up with Maleficient and Evil queen at the same time which would probably not have sat well with Maleficient considering at that time the Evil queen was Maleficient's rival as ruler of the Isle of the lost.

It still could have been possible That Hades it's both Mal and Evie's father. Because he could have been with the evil queen and Maleficent at the exact same time. But he kept it a secret that he was with both of them. I don't know it's just a theory.

I mean, we know Gaston was sentenced to the isle, he had Gil. I personally think Evie being half sisters with snow white makes the most sense. Although, since Disney CLEARLY threw out their own history books, I don't see why Hades couldn't be her father, since he apparently forgot about Persephone (or did she end up being an Aurodon hero since she was forced to be his wife?) To hook up with maleficent. The royal wedding, in all it's disgusting-ness) sorta gave an explanation for Carlos, so a fourth movie wouldn't necessarily be problematic after the loss of Cameron. While it still mentally feels gross to think of another live action film without him, I REALLY need to see more of the tales of Mal and Ben, plus see Evie and Doug get married. Plus, Disney REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to make up for the dog shit they gave us with the royal wedding.

Here's a crazy theory So you guys know that that Hades has a son called hadie who he got after Mal. So my really crazy theory is that Hadie's mother could be the evil Queen. Evie and Mal do treat each other like sisters they look after each other, their kind to one another, they do have some arguments but they do get along I don't want to be wrong but it maybe possible that Hades could Evie's dad too both Evie and Mal do have blue hair and even though some sisters could not be related friends can have a strong bond that make their relationship be like a family.
