France has many aires, and some of them are still completely free. We often show you the paid camping car park aires, but here's what you can expect when you use a free aire and the type of location they can be in... you might be surprised!
We are Corrin and Paul and with our two dogs (Pippa and Dolly) we have travelled to 23 countries in Europe in our MOTORHOME

Hi Guys ! 💖 Mesnieres is a beautiful little village 💖 , we enjoyed the walk around and scenery, the locals must be very proud , it’s so well kept … the pizza was delicious, I still think there is somebody inside the machine, it just seems too good 🙂 hope you are both keeping well and Slaws feeling better , I’m sure it was a worrying time xx ❤️

just a quick one guys,i have the polar screens and you’re better off popping the wipers forward before putting it on then wipers go on top of the screen…keeps the wind out

Hi, just love your drone footage,I have a drone but scared to send it too far in case I loose it,AGAIN yep lost one last year,a gust of wind took it,😂

😂good morning William, I’ve lost one in the Baltic Sea and one fell out the sky ! … both insured and replaced thankfully , so worth it, my new one has auto return and features to keep it a bit safer, but I’ve had a few close calls already 😂 it does add a little bit more to the vlog though , really worthwhile 🙂👍thanks for watching and commenting ❤️

That aire didn't used to have any facilities and we were once stuck there for 3 days as there was no fuel in France. Beautiful village, but no pizza machine in those days.😂

Good morning guys ! Thanks so much , it really is a beautiful place, the pizza was spot on 🙂 I’m going to put together a little vlog soon as it’s often asked about, the drone is a dji air 2s, with a dedicated controller , the drone has sensors / obstacle avoidance and HD filming , I also have a mini 2 as back up.. the Air 2s is a great drone, but like anything takes a little practice, but so worth it, it needs to be registered to fly , also I need to register as an operator / pilot in both uk and Europe, it’s a bit of a trek to get it done, but fairly straight forward , many just fly without any of the above , but it’s nice to be legal and it keeps the insurance valid ! 🙂❤️

Hi Guys, what amazing drone footage, we couldn't believe how close you can take it to the buildings, we are rubbish at ours!!! We've had quite a bit of difficulty finding water in the Aires this week but that's a good Aire, beautiful Chateaux, love the framed picture sculpture! Shame your insurance doesn't cover the work at home, like you say, you always need to check the small print. Thanks for another great vlog, lots of love Julia and Gary💕

Hi guys !! 💖 hope you are having fun ! Shame about the water , they should start turning it on soon, we also carry an additional 25 kg container as a back up in case 🙂 the drone has forward sensors so when switched on help with navigation, but it doesn’t detect wires and branches 😬 but that said , it really adds a little extra to the vlog 🙂 house on the way to being sorted , the joys ! Last week we were in Lion sur Mer,using our camping pass ,this company are taking over traditional aires and some municipal sites ,average cost 13-14 euros a night included electric ,brilliant,you can pay extra ,that allows you to book ahead

Great vlog including drone footage, A free aire too in the pretty village with some lovely buildings and varying structures.. Bet the gardens are great in summer as you mention. I live in a small village in Devon _ im trying not to chuckle at the horror of the thought of a free Aire equivalent set up where i am. Stuck up and so set in their ways here s an understatement. Even now after 5 years living here when i walk into village shop ppl turn around and stare like who are you ? sort of thing ha ha. We have a long way to go before the UK embraces vanlife Anyway enjoy final bit of your journey. P.S. I used to own a cottage in Glomel a pretty small but quiet village in Central Brittany near Carhaix

I stayed at Neufchatel en Bray in 2013 at Camping St Claire, which I think you pass the vets to get to it (and Super U). They just had a fenced automatic aire built next to the site when i was there if you need it next trip. The railway path runs from the campsite entrance so I wonder if it was the one you walked the dogs on?

Hi Ian ! Thanks for the info ! We walked quite a bit of the path and didn’t see a campsite , maybe it was in the opposite direction from where we started , we visit the vets in the next vlog on Thursday , it’s a great little village 🙂👌
