Never thought about the potential of dua from that angle, if we are connected with Allah through dua, no matter how many hardships come in our life, it cannot stray us from Allah because this life is a trial as Allah SWT already intimated us, Subhan Allah, what an easy trial, everything has already been told to us.

But prophet saw said that dua can change your destiny, so is it true?

Offcourse it's true. Most of the time Allah grants your duas but sometimes he doesn't. İt could be because of our food and income not being halal or it could be because what we want is not good for us. We trust in Allah. There is hayr in whatever Allah gives us. When we get to Jenna's we will be rewarded for the duas we did. We will wish that Allah hadn't accepted any of our duas and rewarded for the dua in jennah...

@@N.Y.63 you didn't understand my question? I asked about destiny. Is it can be changed or not by your duas? Because after so many duas of Mariyam sa her destiny was not changed.

@@shamshularfeen4438 Our destiny (Kader) is already written. Allah knows the past and the future. By making dua you attract good and are protected from evil. İf you hadn't made the dua you would go through some hardship/ calamity... But Allah already knows so he has written your destinaty in a book called lewhi Mahfuz... Same is achieved with giving charity to the poor. İt will protect you from calamities and will be a means for Shifa for your sicknesses...

The problem with modern muslims is seeking happiness. Why do we even want happiness, health, wealth, success etc. This is why we have sadness. A person who is ill is sad. A person who has no house or food is sad. A person who has no career is sad. . . . . We must always remind our brain that it is temporary . . . We should not focus on worldly happiness and simply tolerate it with sabr. . There shouldn't be any need for dua if only we realized that our sole purpose is akhirah. . . We have desires for happiness in world, that's why we make duas. No, that isnwrong. We should only ptay for hereafter.
