Hi nerds! In this video, I will be taking a deep dive into the Affordable Indian sunscreen brand JOY. From invisible sunscreens that leave no white cast, cheap mineral sunscreens that are great for dry and acne-prone skin, to lightweight sunscreen serums and tinted sunblock lotions that feel like NOTHING on oily skin, the brand has a lot to offer at a good price. However, I haven't seen a lot of detailed reviews on KZfaq about this brand and the cheap sunscreens for Indian skin that they have. We are examining 5 of their most high SPF sunscreens for the face.
Joy Revivify Hello Sun Chemical-Free Mineral Sunscreen SPF50 PA++++ 50ml - This is a great soothing and high protection sunscreen, especially if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin. The sunscreen was recently reformulated, so I compared the Old vs. New formulas of the Joy mineral sunscreen as well. It is the best affordable mineral sunscreen I have come across in India.
Joy Hello Sun Sunblock & Anti-Tan Lotion SPF 40 PA+++ (120ml) - This is a wonderful lightweight and non-sticky sunscreen for oily skin. The fragrance is light enough to fade away, and it does not leave any white cast. It provides high protection and is not very water-resistant. It is a suitable sunscreen for darker skin tones since it has zero white cast. It is very budget-friendly too.
Joy Hello Sun Natural Matte Tinted Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++ (60ml) - This sunscreen is a great 2-in-1 for a no-makeup look. The tint is well-suited for medium and tan Indian skin tones and will not leave a white cast. It is completely matte, so I wouldn't recommend it as a sunscreen for dry skin, but you can make it work by moisturizing well.
Revivify Hello Sun Vitamin C+ Niacinamide Glow Booster Sunscreen Serum SPF40 PA+++ (30ml) - This one was not great. While the prospect of an affordable sunscreen serum in India was exciting, the quantity was very small, and the formula was disappointing.
Revivify Hello Sun Ultralight Invisible Sunscreen Gel SPF45 PA+++ 50ml - The invisible sunscreen from Joy is the cheapest transparent sunscreen I have encountered on the Indian skincare market. It feels heavy and protective, super slippery and hard to remove. I would only recommend it for dry skin, since it may feel a bit too dense for oily skin.

i have used the joy mineral sunscreen i think back in 2020 or maybe 2021 when it came in the old packaging, i remember it was very pasty and thick and I can't imagine wearing it during the summer but oh boy was it a strong sunscreen.

I bought Joy physical sunscreen seeing your recommendation. It is the worst sunscreen I have ever used. The horrible sticky white caste, just a substitute for wall putti. Please stop deceiving people

@@gayathrips7428 Physical mineral sunscreens will always leave a white cast on the skin, similar to what you see on cricketers' faces. This is due to the inherent properties of zinc oxide and titanium oxide, which do not get absorbed into the skin. If (which in almost all cases it is)a physical sunscreen is waterproof or sweatproof, it will still leave a white cast. Only hybrid or chemical sunscreens get absorbed into the skin.

Looking to try the mineral one.....my mom loves spf 40 and uses that daily but sadly that stings a little around my eyes and also peels sometimes around my beard area and on my dry zones I found it to be drying

Thanks for sharing you and your mom's experience with the SPF 40 sunscreen! Always good to know what you guys look for in a sunscreen. Though the mineral sunscreen does have a slight white cast, it is definitely very soothing compared to the other ones. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the detailed video. Keep up the good work. I roam into wild that too in harsh sunlight and have experienced a darkening of entire face and neck area. Earlier I was not interested in using any such products till the time I developed some rashes at the back of my neck. As per my experience during summer season it generally never affected my skin even in harsh sunlight but during rainy season when the sky gets clear its quite dangerous as the UV rays are strong and penetrates deeper in the skin during this time. Its better to use these creams. I recently bought a Joy SPF 40 cream and was looking out for its performance and your video pop in. Just for your info, earlier I was using Lakme SPF 30 but it doesn't stay long and gets washed out with sweating. 👍👍

No it's not necessary at night! I just use zinc oxide sunscreen at night sometimes because it helps with skin barrier repair and inflammation
