People do this with the gaming industry too. Specifically the game development industry. People compare modders to game developers which is an unfair comparison. One is an independent who works alone or in small groups, the other responds to higher ups and has to work in a large team and can’t just do whatever they want.

I agree and disagree, I also believe that some of the CEOs at the companies need to be taken accountable. Like games like Pokemon, it feels a bit cash grabby to have a HD 3D game with human with no voice acting. Especially during cutscenes

when i had to draw and paint for my studio classes, it took a long time to complete-especially considering that it was all for a grade 😭 so i can only imagine how it is on a much higher scale-my hat goes out to all content creators 💐💐

I don't blame TheOdd1sOut for having an ignorant comment about animation living rent free in his mind. I'm trying to become an independent animator on KZfaq myself and I understand how time consuming it could be just to come up with an idea to animate let alone animating a video. Making a video addressing how long it takes to animate (even with a team of artist) is a genius idea, lol. When he goes into details about reusing old background art and character movements to cut as many corners as you can to cut as much time as you can working on the animation was awesome. Anyway, back to the old art grind. Love you Christene.

My art level is VERY...basic. But it is my goal to get better and maybe even learn to do animation. Right now I'm just at the 'practicing my art' stage. But I watch channels like theodd1sout and Jaidenanimation and drawfee that have helped me get a better idea of how the behind the scene stuff is. When artist posts their things, it's the final finished product that's been polished and edited and done. I would hit many emotional roadblocks with how little improvement I've managed(schedule is hard to sometimes include practice) but I've begun to understand the real process and also the reality that for me it'll be a personal hobby more than anything. And if later I can make my own fanart then that'll be amazing! Or animation for my fanfics...the real thing I got was that the passion for art has to be as strong or stronger than the need for money/attention/recognition. A lot that new people might not see is that...even if some of his videos caught like wildfire, James was creating for quite some time, putting in the effort and work, and not as much recognition before he finally made it. Practice and keeping on drawing are the key, and patience too...which isn't always easy but...that's art, baby!

Ah i feel the same, stuck in that phase of “My art sucks” and it kills my mental health
@master0fthearts894
@master0fthearts894 2 жыл бұрын
@@yuulfuji One of the things that usually cause those phases is comparing your art to other people. If you compare your art to the art of Leonardo Da Vinci, or Jazza, or to Jaiden Animations, or heck, pretty much any sport, profession, or walk of life, well yeah of course you’re going to feel bummed out- those people had years of formal/informal (or just self-taught) training. You’ll likely always start out drawing stick figures, because everybody did at one time! People tell themselves things like: “Oh, I’ll never be good at art, I can’t even draw a straight line.” Well, Imma tell you something that is true but rarely said: Most professional artist probably don’t draw straight lines either. First of all, rulers exist, but there’s more to it than that. I don’t think it’s physically possible for the human body to draw one long straight line. But, it IS possible to draw a straight short line. If you combine a bunch of very straight, short lines together, you get one very long straight line. I’m betting that’s what a lot of artists do when they don’t have a ruler on-hand. I want people to, whenever they feel like their art is awful or that they can’t be good at it, to remind themselves of these two things: 1: You are running a marathon, not a sprint. The artists you compare yourself to likely have years of practice and training. You shouldn’t compare yourself to people who are way more experienced themselves. Take advice from them, write down shading techniques, take notes of things about their style that you would like to incorporate into your own style, do these things- BUT DO NOT compare yourself to incredibly experienced artists. That won’t get you anywhere except in the state of mind that your art isn’t good- which is simply not true. Your art quality varies on your own skill level, so don’t judge your progress or your art on the levels of people who have had years and years to surpass said skill level. 2: Being ‘bad’ at art doesn’t necessarily doom you. Odd1Sout, the creator that AyChrsitine is talking about, is technically bad at art. (His words, not mine) He was never all that talented at a young age (Source: His own book) and he struggled a lot. He doesn’t have talent- his SISTER has talent, being able to draw highly realistic portraits and having a nack for art at a very young age. But James kept practicing, experimenting, and learning, and although he may never be as good as his sister… well, just look at how he’s doing. He’s a highly successful artist who makes quality art and good animations, with a dedicated fan base and a lot of support. ‘Bad’ artists aren’t artists who don’t have talent or are slower than others- bad artists are artists who give up on art. And you may be reading this and comparing me to some channel with probably a million Amv’s with motivational posters scattered around its videos, but Y’know… I’m okay with that. Because channels like that can help, as corny and stupid as it may sound.

@@master0fthearts894 Hm okay, motivation isn’t my sort of thing though. I feel i’ll always have that imposter syndrome in me.
@master0fthearts894
@master0fthearts894 2 жыл бұрын
@@yuulfuji Things that can help with motivation is doing fan art, or combining two interests. Let’s say you like writing and are making a novel, short story, whatever. You can try sketching out and visualizing characters in your head for portrait practice, sketch out environmental art of a city or town you’ve created, etc. For example, I can see your profile picture is Link? Try drawing link, or Zelda. Maybe use them in anatomy practice so you have an character you like being breaded down as opposed to something random, you could try drawing environmental art of Hyrule. This can also help with a show or series you like ending- you’re doing art to memorize it, and it can help maybe sharing it with a community and talking about it can help engage with community interaction as well. 🙂 If you want to draw but feel like you have no motivation, maybe try doing something like that sometime.

I remember having a KZfaq Channel when i was 10-11 years old and i used to do gacha animations. This one person criticized me for not posting that much content, the funny thing is that I wasn’t even that popular and i don’t think a lot of people see my content. Anyways back to the story i really kept thinking about this comment and it affected the way i made my content. I started to rush my mini series and Roblox vlogs but i also ended up deleting them because i felt like they we’re rushed. I became insecure and I deleted everything in my KZfaq channel as a whole and now that i think about it i wish i never did because i reached more than 200+ subscribers :((.
