The Football League do not have to accept Man City in to their organisation if they're expelled from the Premier League. They would likely drop in to the National League and have to work their way back to the Premier League. It's a bit similar to Rangers in Scotland.

@Oliver Blades to be fair it is very confusing. Best analogy would be what happened to Rangers. They may just drop to the championship, but that would be at the discretion of the football league, they may drop all the way down to the 6th tier, no body really knows! I do think there will be some fairly big ramifications though, for the sheer number of breaches and the fact they tried to obstruct the investigation. It's not going to be pretty (although they may now just be too big to fail, money talks afterall)

@deepak pandey If they are found guilty, a relegation would be pointless because they would keep the majority of their team and walk back to the top without a problem. They've been blatantly cheating in regards to funding since they won their first title when other clubs were fighting to keep within the rules just to survive (bolton, Bury, etc). That's the biggest problem. Clubs can be successful without money, although it depends on what you are in class as success. Burnley is getting Europe, Brighton Brentford fullham who are all teams who spend peanuts are able to compete with the big clubs finances. Even Liverpool can compete without the spending power of man City Chelsea and United.
