Oh wow seeing Ahran and Leslie still being good friends to this day definitely put a smile on my face.

Honestly the Leslie-Ahran character arc was my favourite part of that season, I’m glad they’re still friends. Ahran calling out Joe was just *chefs kiss* - girl did what we all wanted to from home for every season of that show.

I still can’t believe Joe had the gall to tell Ahran “why would we play favorites” when they’d were clearly playing favorites with Courtney lmfao. Ahran called them out on their smelly bullshit and he knew it. Courtney should’ve gone home during that donut challenge.

Ngl, I didn't even finish season 5 yet but you and Leslie were my favorite duo, it was so sad seeing you go as I thought you should have definitely been in the top 5. Either way, doesn't really matter anymore. It's just that you inspired me to start cooking, I myself am 18 years old now and never even touched a frying pan before in my life but now thanks to you am becoming more and more interested in the kitchen. You actually made me learn about Asian cooking and recipes. I used to get just takeout, because I was a Puerto Rican teenager who only ever had takeout chinese. I watched your season of Master Chef and all of your recipes looked so good. I started researching how to cook more advanced dishes, researching food traditions, before I knew it I was studying the culture and history as well and really enjoying it. I also learned to really appreciate things like hot pot dishes and korean barbeque, which back when I first watched your season (I was 18 myself!) was stuff no one in my family would even be OPEN TO. Now, my family LOVES when I experiment and try out new dishes from different cultures. One of my favorites is Japanese style curry. Watching some of your challenge dishes, also made me realize there was ways to elevate things that seemed "Simple" but in nature were kinda complicated. I know you said, you thought you got by on your age mostly but genuinely... You did inspire me. You and Christine Ha were my favorite contestants in your respective seasons and I learned a lot about just being unafraid to try new recipes and honestly make up new recipes *inspired* by other dishes too.

Editing is great and so is the food, this channel really has potential to be big if you keep it up.

I also once partipated in a big contest in my country and the pressure from people's attention was crazy since the things they see on TV don't always portray how we really are, like you said. Wow, I just came across this video randomly in my recommended and I totally remember you and Leslie from that season haha. I still remember that dessert lasagna you made I always wondered what the hell it tasted like. It was nice to see this video though it feels like so long ago I watched that season of Masterchef, as a fellow Korean American I always thought that it was pretty cool to see representation on the show. And yes, I will admit there were times where I thought you were immature on the show, but who honestly is mature as a senior still in high school? Haha you should definitely not take it too hard on yourself and just be proud of the achievement of even being on that show at that age.

I'm a pastry chef, but I'm mostly self taught. I did go to school because they had a culinary course, and I wasn't ready to leave my home. I'm really glad that I went thought, because it showed my the reality of working in a restaurant kitchen and that atmosphere isn't for me. My teachers were all very nice and informative, but I decided to drop out for a number of different reasons. I learned from chefs, cooking classes, watching celebrity chefs on tv, my family, and majority of cooking/baking skills come from teaching myself! I also have a disability, so I became my own boss and I have a quite the following! I'm not comparing myself to chefs who actually went to school and spent a good portion of their lives in kitchens. As long as you have that love and passion for cooking/baking, you can become an awesome chef! And that's what I did!
