My spouse and I watched episode #1 on CHEK last night, and we both enjoyed it immensely. I think this type of series works well mainly because Mr. Downie is such a genuine, humble and fun human. Fakeness and ego wouldn't work. This is the real deal :)

One of the reasons I subscribed was the engaging editing, and excellent presentation and narration. I think it is one of the best youtube channels I subscribe to and the only one I actually am a paying member of. I think CHEKtv could easily be a stepping stone to other stuff. As someone who grew up in Victoria with Chek TV, I especially feel patriotic about not only the channel, but also the national pride in helping you produce this series. I love everything about it. Edit: I'm now watching the Nfld episode and that one pub has Aunt Jemima on the table instead of actual maple syrup. It hurts a little. Michael...my husband and I just came back from visiting eastern Canada...it was amazing and your program gave us a lot of insight from PEI Nova Scotia NFLD NB and Quebec. We experienced the people, trains, Uber, cruising, busses all of it was amazing !!! I hope you can do more programs. I used to live in Victoria and actually graduated from a broadcast journalism program there. A lot of alumni of my program work at CHEK and it's super cool that they're supporting a small creator. That program was basically teaching people how to be a content creator and make minidocs before KZfaq was a thing, so I'm not surprised they'd be on board to support your content! Congrats! I happen to be local to Vancouver so am biased but I really think good content on KZfaq like yours deserves to be on TV too. I love travel shows of all kinds - one of my favorites from the past was Departures (also cdn) where it is about the journey not just the destination - and with nice cinematography and a great personality of the host. You check all those boxes. I wish I could travel and experience these things - shows like this are the next best thing. Create on!
