The Power Rangers TV series introduced Heckyl, an antagonist who possessed the Dark Energem. However, the show never explored the Ranger that would result from this power. The comics pick up the story, showing Heckyl returning to his home on Sentai 6 and trying to lead a new life. His fear of the future leads him to secretly create a Ranger using the Dark Energem, which ends with a sacrifice and a guilty conscience. Heckyl, now the Dark Ranger, vows to protect Sentai 6 and answers Zordon's call for help during the Shattered Grid crisis, driven by a desire to atone.

That's never gonna happen on the show unfortunately Most of what's done in the show is to pull the new audience not appeal to the old The only time they remember the old lore exists is on cross overs At this point every new PR team can exist independently in their own universe

If I recall correctly, Talon Ranger was the original name for Zenowing’s Ranger form, but they didn’t end up using it

@@morphinshortsNope. Back when the Dinocharge Morpher toy first came out, you had your...enterprising folks who dared to hack the soundboard to dig up all the sounds. Talon Ranger was found, and it was later revealed to come from the Spinosaurus Dinocharger (aka the Tobaspino Zyuudenchi). "Spino Charger, Engage..." "ENERGIZE!!" (spin the revolver, pull the trigger) "Unleash the Power!!" (morph sound) "Spinosaurus...Power Ranger Talon!!" Another classic case of Bandai America jumpin' the smurfin' gun. (Like how in Zeo, Bandai America released the Gold Zeonizer - and a SDCC Legacy Collection Gold Zeonizer many years later - but Saban and the Gang never used the King Brace/Gold Zeonizer for Jason OR Prince Trey in the show) Then Hasbro just had to Hasbruh and pull a Saban level move: instead of a Dinocharge Morpher, Heckyl uses that boomerang of Deathryuuger as his morpher in Cosmic Fury...which is actually kinda sick...phones, swords, guns, and now a BOOMERANG...

I just want a reboot from the ground up that’s animated and crosses over with all the rangers. It can be based on the comics. We start with MMPR and they figure out in like season 2 that other teams exist. Then we slowly but surely wrap in other team arch’s where the MMPR ain’t even there.

Funnily enough the reason we don't have the Dark Rnager in the show is because this ranger only appeared in a special episode of the Sentai show this season was based on. Its also why we only have the Zord that Pink made for a bit since that was this ranger's personal zord in the special

Funny thing about all of this is that according to former showrunner Simon Bennett, this version of Heckyl's journey toward becoming a Ranger didn't happen within the world of the TV show. Also, Hasbro and Boom Studios didn't collaborate at any point during Cosmic Fury's production.

I love how the origin for The dark Ranger, The idea of zenowing sacrificing himself to allow heckle to safely bond with the dark energem and thus disable its ability to corrupt people and make it safe for morphers is kind of interesting

Hackyl is shown as dark ranger in comics first. But he is in cosmic fury too. So we got him in the series and there he has a special boomerang morpher instead of the morpher gun the other dino charge rangers used
