So for the front dreads i have a theory based on my own experience. The dreads in the front are shorter because they contain baby hair which usually geys cut during non dreaded hair cuts. As you groe your hair your baby hairs are always behind. They have potential to lock up as long as the barber is mindful to your baby hairs as in dont cut them and allow the to mature
