I secure my uparts and half wigs with bobbi pins...adds a few extra minutes but the clips and combs were too rough on my scalp. Also another tip get hair textures that mimics yours the most ...so you won’t have to flat iron your leave out so much. Silky straight uparts ...for us is asking for breakage..try curly, wavy and kinky textures

you can wear u part wig with a similar texture so that you WONT have to straighten your hair.

Ok back to this video - I used to wear part wigs every day for 6 years!! I would take it off every weak then back again. My hair was thinning I started to have bald spots + breakage. I stopped and it s been 2 years. My hair has grown so so much!! I miss the way I looked but I don't regret it.

Thank you. I have been trying to grow my edges out for years. My edges are thin. I will start using Bobby pins instead because the clips can be uncomfortable. When I remove my U part wig (the part where I added the clips) I feel the tension afterwards.

I have similar texture hair to you, it's quite fine so I have to be careful, since I have started wearing wigs early this year for the first time in my life! I wear kinky wigs so it looks naturel, but when I get home I take it off and comb my naturel hair out and put it in a bun so my hair gets vitamin D and can grow and get some air!

There a wig they have called "thin part" wig. You only need to have very minor leave out. I personally haven't tried it but it seems to have some pretty good reviews online.

Ladies who use u-part wigs in the summer- how do yall prevent your leave out from frizzing up? I would love to be able to wear a u-part instead of a full lace frontal, but I know my natural hair will frizz up like no tomorrow! thanks girls!

Autumn Davis try kinky straight hair it blends better so you don't have to keep putting heat on your leave out. Or also curly hair.

Def can. I sewed a band on the inside of my wig. Also if your wig has combs, braid your hair underneath the wig and tuck the comb into the braid and not under

Do you think that you could wear a u-part wig with shaved sides and undercut? I want a u-part wig so bad but I don't know how that would work...💁

With the under cut, you would lose the security of the back combs that attaches the wig to the nape of your neck. Otherwise it will just hang free in the back and that’s kinda ok if ur wearing it down only.. no ponytails.

So what’s the proper way to clip it in?? Because I added braiding hair and all and hair still fell out where the clips are

And honestly it will because your still have the comb or clip in contact with your scalp ( usually made from some sort of metal that's not hypoallergenic). So using braiding hair I dont agree with. What I notice help is using oils to protect your scalp serves as a coating between the comb and scalp

I tend to hook my clips to my braids.. however I don’t deal with pulling or tugging.. I also take my wig off for sleep. So mines is only in for a few hours a day.. which I’m sure cuts down on hair loss.. bob pins help secure. But then again I switch hair styles often, so I believe the pulling and tugging of the natural hair begins to occur after repeated uses (weeks long, or even 3 days over night meaning it’s being slept in too).. so to avoid it is to honestly take it off when just chillin in the house or loungin round the house and bed.
