If God is omniscient then God knew that Satan would deceive Eve who would then convince Adam to disobey God, so why would God not intervene and guide his creation like a responsible creator instead of punishing Adam and Eve alongside the rest of humanity?

Yes of course. And God put the tree right in the middle of the Garden and made it look good to eat. He could have hidden it away somewhere and made it smell like rotting feces. So of course God has a plan. What really happened was that our conscious awareness changed. It's only a "punishment" or a "curse" from our point of awareness. God is using this to refine us like gold in a fire. All impurities will be burned away. The uncomfortable reality of being self aware is not made better by rejecting the Bible.

@theTavis01
@theTavis01 2 жыл бұрын
@@sick_ibg712 Read it and see! Genesis 3 "God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Their eyes will be opened. But this is not their physical eyes, because it says the fruit looked good to the eyes and Adam was naming the animals already! So it is talking about a greater level of awareness being awakened, one that makes us like God. The knowledge of good and evil is the knowledge of how to create and destroy. It gives us power over the environment, but it comes at a horrible cost. You see, it requires being bound to our bodies in helplessly isolated individual awareness, tempted by animals desires with access to a powerful brain. What is the very first thing that happens when they eat it? "Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves." Looking down and realizing you are naked is an act of conscious self-awareness. But this means that they must suffer the experience of the body succumbing to the inevitable pull of entropy. That is why it becomes a curse. Nothing changes but our awareness. The population of humanity was made in chapter one, male and female humans created in Africa. In Chapter 2, God takes a group of these humans east into an oasis in the Persian Gulf area and creates their human spirit. Adam was the spiritual father of all mankind. As a spirit, Adam did not die. Seemingly individual humans came and went but humanity as a whole thrived and so Adam was alive and there were no individuals only humanity. But when Adam became an individual tied to a body, he now faced death as the consequence. This is the "curse" we all live under. "And the Lord God said, 'The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.' So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken." God gave us the solution in the form of Christ. In Christ we are rejoined into a single living human spirit. We no longer suffer death when we are in Christ.

It’s because of free will
@sick_ibg712

@@JC-cv3up Why would God create a flawed creation and then punish his creation for being flawed. Before Adam and Eve were created God knew they would disobey his rule and thus the rest of humanity would be punished as a consequence and he still created humans flawed. The free will from God doesn't work because he knows every decision anyone was/is going to make before we are even created. God knowingly creates autonomous beings without our permission that he knows he is going to punish for eternity afterwards. The people that God punishes were created with his awareness that they would fail and suffer for eternity. It doesn't matter if they made their own decisions because they were set to fail from the start especially since God doesn't communicate with his creation.

@@The-F.R.E.E.-J. Yeah. The serpent spoke. By you saying “so God removed his limbs” reveals that you view this scripture through your own accumulated logic. Understand the stage you have set. Your logic vs the ancient writings of the Bible. Ok fair! As long as we know that the book has its own expressed logic. Just like you do. Let’s do “talking serpent” first. Before Eve it was Adam and the animals. The book says “God brought the animals before Adam to see what he would name them.” Off the bat we have a scenario that doesn’t make sense to modern man but fits perfectly with the logic of the book. You can’t read the Bible without stepping outside of your mental comfortably zone. So Adam dwelt with animals. We’re humans. We talk to our animals everyday. Since there was no Eve, Perhaps God allowed some animals to speak back. Logically, the speaking serpent never made me put the book down. It didn’t fail the logic test. Neither did the cursed serpent crawling and eating dust. Jesus cursed a plant because it didn’t produce fruit like it was supposed to. Move on. God/Satan/Job. There was a day or time that the “sons of God” presented themselves before The Lord and satan showed up. God challenged satan to a test involving the integrity of Job. Yes, in today’s vernacular we can safely call that a bet. Job suffered and was restored and God won the bet. Head scratcher? Yes. God is unjust? Never. He is the potter we are the clay. I’d leave that one alone because if you toss God (or the Bible) because you don’t like that story then don’t read the one about the prophet that was made by God to marry a prostitute to show His people how unfaithful they were to Him. She slept with every guy in town for years and EVERYBODY knew she was the wife of the guy who yelled “Thus sayeth Yhe Lord!” What about Jesus Himself ha! He was led “by The Spirit into the wilderness TO BE tempted by the devil!” Huh? Wah? Why? And then there’s the big one, God allowed people to spit on His Son and mock Him and rip His back open then allowed people to make Him carry His own wood to His place of execution where they nailed Him to the cross. And after all of that the scripture says “it pleased The Lord to bruise His Son.” Bible logic? YES Human logic? No but who cares? It’s 2022- where has human logic gotten us thus far? How are you making out in the logic department ? We don’t even have to address that last one about God creating evil. I say this gently, The Bible is greater than us. It’s concepts and precepts out rank ours. The Bible explains us. We can’t have an elbow to knee sit down with the Bible as if we possess the equipment to adequately challenge its teachings . I know, as humans we are the movers and shakers of the world and no other creature messes with us! No other creature messes with lions either (in their domain.) Or Eagles in their domain. No animal wakes up in the morning saying “time to go bag us a lion.” Or “hey I saw a couple of giant eagle’s about a half mile away. Man what a feast!” Yet! We (humans) put them in cages and train them to go fetch rocks and place them at our feet. Why? Because we have dominion over them! Well guess who has dominion over us? A lion can squirm and disagree all it wants. It’s going in the truck! Same with God! Everybody that has read these stories have had similar initial reactions, but our responses are different. There’s a scripture that put all my “questions” to rest. “The secret things belong to God! The things that are revealed belong to men.” Knowing this makes me say “ok then let me focus on what has been revealed!” I get frustrated reading manuals and instructions. I’ll toss them in a second and do the dang thing myself. Ha. Then my wife comes along and says ”no babe, look, it says right here….” God knew the world would wind up like this so He put an unmovable anchor in the earth called The Bible. For centuries man has fought against its contents. Unfortunately everybody that ever challenged it is either in or on it’s way to the grave. Yet it still stands. But it’s not over! Eventually all other writings and opinions and “books”will suffer the same fate. Because not one of them ever figured out the biggest problem in the world…. How to overcome death! You can tell the Bible has authority because it addresses the “death” problem. Jesus comes… raising the “dead!” Then overcoming “death” Himself. Because He has authority over death. The problem that no other has seriously attempted to address. Ok it’s Sunday. I gotta go praise the God of The Bible for all that He has done for US! You and me! PS… He loves you! He’s not moved by any unbelief you have towards Him. Keep coming at Him. Don’t toss the manual 😎

The argument for objective morality is that there is one truth. there is a good and an evil despite what someone thinks. subjective morality means there are no moral absolutes and everything is equally moral based on who you’re talking to. because morality is objective people believe there is a right and a wrong even if you disagree what that is. if morality truly was subjective you would have to agree that somebody else thinks differently than you but that he’s not worse than you. Repent of your sins and believe on Adonai Jesus Christ, believe in your heart that He has died for sins and rose from the tomb on the third day and let the Holy Spirit within you, and you shall be saved. - Jesus the Christ loves, praise YHWH our Elohim - Evidence for Jesus Christ’s existence, crucifixion, and disappearance from the tomb (He rose from it): The Lord Jesus Christ did exist, gathered disciples, and was crucified and went missing from the tomb. To argue about wether He was taken from the grave or rose from it, is an argument a skeptic can make. Because well if you disregard the eye witness testimony of the disciples and there willingness to die for Christ, and humans won’t die for something they know is a lie, when Peter is pinned upside down to that cross, he could have said that it was a fake, but He didn’t because it wasn’t, what care would he have about death in this world if he knew for a fact he had assurance of a life in another, Jesus Christ did rise from the tomb and is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Now the evidence for the Lord Jesus Christ’s existence really isn’t hard to find a multitude of non-Christian scholars and historians mention Him within 150 years after the time of His life. One such is Tacitus a Roman historian who reported on emperor nero’s decision to blame the Christians for the fire that had destroyed rome in 64 AD. Tacitus wrote: “Nero fastened the guilt ... on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of ... Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome…” In this Tacitus makes reference to not only Christians, but Christ calling Him Christus and confirming the Gospels going on to say that He suffered the extreme penalty (crucifixion) under the reign of Tiberius and by the sentence of Pontius Pilate, which like I said confirms the Gospels narrative. Another important source of evidence about Jesus and early Christianity can be found in the letters of Pliny the Younger to Emperor Trajan. Pliny was the Roman governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor. In one of his letters, dated around A.D. 112, he asks Trajan's advice about the appropriate way to conduct legal proceedings against those accused of being Christians. Pliny says that he needed to consult the emperor about this issue because a great multitude of every age, class, and sex stood accused of Christianity. At one point in his letter, Pliny relates some of the information he has learned about these Christians: “They were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food - but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.” This passage provides a number of interesting insights into the beliefs and practices of early Christians. First, we see that Christians regularly met on a certain fixed day for worship. Second, their worship was directed to Christ, demonstrating that they firmly believed in His divinity. Furthermore, one scholar interprets Pliny's statement that hymns were sung to Christ, "as to a god", as a reference to the rather distinctive fact that, "unlike other gods who were worshipped, Christ was a person who had lived on earth." If this interpretation is correct, Pliny understood that Christians were worshipping an actual historical person as God! Of course, this agrees perfectly with the New Testament doctrine that Jesus was both God and man. You may have heard of the scholar Flavius Josephus who mentioned James as being the brother of the Lord Jesus Christ, which matches what Paul said calling James “The Lord’s brother” and there is another document that Josephus may have written which goes: “About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he ... wrought surprising feats.... He was the Christ. When Pilate ...condemned him to be crucified, those who had . . . come to love him did not give up their affection for him. On the third day he appeared ... restored to life.... And the tribe of Christians ... has ... not disappeared.” Now it’s up to debate wether this is the entirely original document of what Josephus wrote, or if a Christian had edited it. But regardless he wrote about the Lord Jesus Christ. Wether it was negative or positive like the possible document is. Anyways there are many other statements, documents, letters, and writings of all sorts from the ancient world talking about the Lord Jesus Christ and there is not one question if He was a real person or if He was crucified and went missing from the grave. That is clear as day, He is a real person, was crucified, and went missing from the grave. And He did rise from the grave. And for more evidence of the Lord Jesus Christ, there’s the Bible and you see there is no evidence the Bible is corrupted, a lie, created by the Roman government, folktale. It is the recount of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, now wether you want to believe it is up to you. And what profit was there in spreading Christianity, All the early Christian suffered persecution, beatings, and were killed. Another Scholar reported that James the Lord’s Brother was thrown off a building and then stoned to death for spreading the Gospel in Jerusalem. These people went to great lengths even giving their own lives for the Adon Jesus the Christ.

Genesis is THE book of firsts, including Satan's first attempt to corrupt / diminish our ONE God by claiming there are more "like" HIM. Also, a question for you: have you met the three individual people that make up your one god? And, is that what you think you are going to see in heaven, three individual god people? And I use the word people on purpose because tritheists say "persons" because it softens the impact of what they are really saying.
@TheGuy..
@TheGuy.. 2 жыл бұрын
@@The-F.R.E.E.-J. It took a while but I figured you'd eventually respond, lol. I hope you are doing well. Your question "assumes" God is "people" and straightforwardly says that. God is not 3 individual people as you ask. That's probably why you don't understand who God is. You are trying to view Him as a super one of us or super individual people. So no, I haven't "visually" met the Father, Son or Holy Spirit. Through conviction and spiritual guidance, I've met the Holy Spirit. Through the written word I've been introduced to the Father and Son. But after I've departed this life, face to face with Jesus. Why Jesus and not the Father or Spirit? Because we've been created as physical beings. God the Son will interact with us through Jesus, in bodies incorruptible. Then, to know Jesus is to know the Father. As saved Christians, we have already met the Spirit in a limited way. So, on your point #1, ALL of what I say is Biblical. On your point #2, you treat the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as isolated beings. They are NOT. They are one but not in a modal sense. Since God transcends the physics of the universe that He has created, He can be one and also tri-relational as atoms are in a molecule. But money clearly is a human construct; and does Jesus not say it should be returned to the emperor who made it? As for power... I am not sure what that refers to. In general, I would say that power presupposes a difference in strength and the threat to use that difference to the advantage of the strong and the disadvantage of the weak, which doesn't sound at all like the teachings of Christ that I grew up with. On the other hand, the ultimate difference in strength used to the advantage of the strong an the disadvantage of the weak is probably the story of the Fall itself, so I guess an argument can be made that this concept does originate with God. @@mustachemac5229 It's also important on the number of scriptures that talk about that specific topic. Like for example homosexuality. Many attempt to justify homosexuality and say it's not a sin but if you compile all the scriptures that mention it, you can come to a conclusion than homosexual acts is indeed sinful. It's not about which interpretation is true or better. It's about our level of understanding and in proverbs we are instructed not lean onto our own understanding.

Your weird. God likes when you question him. Thats how you build a connection with him. Obviously you ask through the bible but his knowledge is deeper than the ocean and like the ocean it will crush you. So its best for ppl to ask god whatever question is in their heart bc even if you dont ask. God already knows how and what you think every moment of your life

@@mustachemac5229 Just as Heaven is higher than Earth, so is God’s ways higher than our ways, God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts. The Holy Bible is God’s words written by witnesses, and authors inspired by God and The Holy Spirit. We can never truly understand the scriptures without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We can never compromised God’s words to make things work out or be suitable for us. If God says it is a sin or it defiles a man then that’s that.

*Jesus falsely prophesied his return in the 1st century* Truly I tell you, ***some who are standing here will not taste death*** before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom Matthew 16:28 Truly I tell you, ***some who are standing here*** will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God Luke 9:27 Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened Mark 13:30 The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened Matthew 24:29-34 There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. When you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near. Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened Luke 21:25-32 *Jesus promised to return over 2, 000 years ago and he still hasn’t.* Jesus and the angels never appeared from Heaven, the stars never fell from the sky, none of these things happened. Nothing he prophesied happened. ***Apologists can try to spin this, but the simple fact is that Jesus was either wrong or misquoted.*** According to the Bible that makes Jesus a false prophet or misquoted (and if Jesus is misquoted than the Bible is not inerrant or the word of God) How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord? If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken Deuteronomy 18:21-22 *Jesus falsely prophesied to the high priest and the Sanhedrin* Jesus also falsely prophesied to the high priest and the Sanhedrin (assemblies of either twenty-three or seventy-one rabbis appointed to sit as a tribunal) You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and ***coming on the clouds of heaven*** Matthew 26:64 Mark 14:62 Except the high priest and the Sanhedrin never saw Jesus sitting at the right hand side of God, or coming on the clouds of heaven, or any such thing. *Jesus falsely prophesied to Nathaniel* Jesus also falsely prophesied to Nathanael when he declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.” Jesus said, You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that. He then added, ***“Very truly I tell you, you will see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man*** John 1:50-51 *Nathanael never saw any such thing. Neither did anyone else.* The following quote from Stephen L. Harris, Professor Emeritus of Humanities and Religious Studies at California State University- Sacramento, completes this point with a devastating argument. *Jesus did not accomplish what Israel’s prophets said the Messiah was commissioned to do:* He did not deliver the covenant people from their Gentile enemies, reassemble those scattered in the Diaspora, restore the Davidic kingdom, or establish universal peace (cf.Isa. 9:6-7; 11:7-12:16, etc.). Instead of freeing Jews from oppressors and thereby fulfilling God’s ancient promises-for land, nationhood, kingship, and blessing- *Jesus died a “shameful” death, defeated by the very political powers the Messiah was prophesied to overcome.* Indeed, the Hebrew prophets did not foresee that Israel’s savior would be executed as a common criminal by Gentiles, *making Jesus’ crucifixion a “stumbling block” to scripturally literate Jews.* (1 Cor.1:23) Watch *Jesus: Apocalyptic Prophet, Historical Lecture - Bart D. *CHRISTIAN APOLOGETIC RATIONALIZATIONS* To anyone not already indoctrinated into Christianity reading the above passages it is crystal clear that according to the Bible Jesus was supposed to return in the first century of the Christian Era. That has not happened. Yet the Christian religion persists with the majority of its adherents still awaiting the return of their savior. How have they reconciled their scriptures to reality? There are several lines of thought in Christendom about this. *Rationalization #1: Matthew 16:28 refers to Jesus’ transfiguration, not his second coming.* The transfiguration of Jesus is a story recorded in Matthew 17, Mark 9, and Luke 9. The first problem is that these Gospels place the transfiguration at different times. In Matthew, it occurs after Jesus made the prediction about his second coming. That might make it seem reasonable to think that it was a fulfillment of the earlier prediction. However, Mark and Luke place the transfiguration event before Jesus made spoke the prophecy. Laying aside the obvious discrepency in timing, we can say for certain that an event occurring before a prediction is made can’t be fulfilling the prediction. The “prediction” wouldn’t be a prediction at all. The preceding verse (verse 27) starts off the description of Jesus’ coming by saying he would come “in glory” with angels to dole out judgment to “every man”. That is not what happened in the transfiguration stories. Therefore, the explanation doesn’t work. Some try to make it work by separating verse 28 from the preceding verse so that the two verses talk about different “comings”. This is a baseless tinkering with the passage in order to make a doctrine fit the scripture. The same Christians who do this will accuse other of taking verses out of context when they disagree with an interpretation. Yet, this is exactly what they do here. *Rationalization #2: The word translated “generation” can mean “race”. So, Jesus meant the Jewish race would not die out before he returns.* This is a manufactured definition to suit doctrinal purposes. When you see “generation” in the New Testament is means just that - people living in a particular era, not a race of people. Elsewhere when he speaks of the Jews, he does so by saying “Jews”. It’s rather strange that he would speak cryptically in just this one instance. *Rationalization #3: When Jesus said “this generation shall not pass away” he meant the generation living at the time of the end times tribulation.* Correct! Jesus told his followers that they would go through persecution. So, he apparently thought they would be the generation living at the time of the end. It is evident in the writings of the New Testament that first century Christians saw the tribulations they were going through as a fulfillment of Jesus’ prediction about the end times and the tribulation. If they saw it as such, modern Christians have no real justification not to see it that way as well. Notice that Jesus didn’t say “that generation” - which would be the normal way of referring to a future generation. He said “this generation”. Besides through a plain common sense reading of the text, we know he meant the people alive while he was speaking because he said that some of his listeners (and the high priest at his trial) would still be alive to see his return to Earth. *Rationalization #4: When Jesus said that some of his listeners would be alive to see him return, he was talking about the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended on the church.* This is another explanation that is so far from rational that is it hard to accept that anyone sincerely believes it. The Book of Acts tells the story of the Holy Spirit appearing over the heads of the saints as tongues of fire endowing them with the magical ability to speak in unlearned languages. There is no mention of them seeing Jesus in the clouds with angels. The supposed event did not accompany the final judgment. None of the things Jesus said would occur at his return happened on the Day of Pentecost. *Rationalization #5: When it was revealed to John in his visions that Jesus would come quickly, it is to happen on God’s time scale, not a human time scale. “The time is near” and “coming quickly” are not to be taken literally. To God a thousand years is a day.* This is actually the first Christian attempt (found in 2 Peter 3) to explain away the fact that Jesus had not come as expected. Believers of the time had begun to waver in their faith because Jesus had not come back as promised. The writer tells them not to listen to people who say, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” (2 Peter 3:4) By “fathers”, he evidently means the founding fathers of the faith who had all died by that time. This is evidence that almost from the start of Christianity, believers have been wrestling with the apparent failure of their savior’s end times prophecy. In verse 8, the writer tries to reassure them by saying, “with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” and continues in the next verse to say that the Lord is not slacking on his promise. He basically tries to make the argument that time is meaningless to God. This passage is in obvious contradiction to what Jesus himself said about his return and everything else written in the New Testament about it. This contradiction raises the question: Did the Simon Peter, one of Jesus’ personal disciples, actually write this book? The most truthful answer: Not likely. When reading 2 Peter, we must keep in mind when it was written. It is well-known that many of the writings floating around the early church were not written by the people claimed to have written them, but were forged by believers to push their particular doctrines. This is most likely the case with the book of 2 Peter. The first clue is that the writer acknowledged that “the fathers” have died. Since Peter was one of those founding fathers of the church, he couldn’t have written this book. It has proven difficult for scholars to pinpoint exactly when the book was written, but they all place its origin sometime between 60 and 160 A.D. This means that it was written at least 30 years after Jesus’ crucifixion is believed to have taken place when he was 33. Assuming his disciples were somewhere around his own age and taking into account average life expectancy of that time and that, according to church tradition, the apostles were all killed, none of them would have likely been alive in 60 A.D. (the earliest date scholars say the book would have been written). So, what can we make of the fact that this is in the Bible? It was written by a believer who didn’t want Jesus’ failure to come to cause the faith to die out. Knowing that Peter was a founding apostle and a personal disciple of Jesus who was deemed to be the first Pope of the Christian faction that came to be known as the Roman Catholic Church, the writer forged this book in Peter’s name. It seems likely that this was an attempt to keep believers in the nascent Catholic churches in the fold. This is not the only case of forgery to uphold Catholic doctrine. (There are other forgeries in the New Testament that have been recognized by scholars as such.) Whether written by the apostle Peter or something else, it is an obvious rationalization to try to deal with the failure of a prediction that came to be central to the Christian religion. We do not accept similar rationalizations from modern-day doomsdayers and we shouldn’t accept them from ancient religious people either. *Rationalization #6: In Matthew 16 when Jesus said some of his listeners would see him “coming in his kingdom”, he was talking about his coming into his kingdom in Heaven after his resurrection when he went back to Heaven. Many saw this event through visions.* This fails to take into account what Jesus said his “coming in his kingdom” would be connected to the day of judgment when he would “reward each according to his works”. As far as I know, no Christian apologists say the judgment occurred when Jesus supposedly went back to Heaven in the first century. Everything in the New Testament places judgment day at the end of the world. Even if we were to throw the Matthew 16 passage completely out of the Bible, there would still be the problem of other passages where Jesus said “this generation will not pass” before he comes and New Testament writers testifying to their belief that he would come in their lifetime. It is no wonder that this rationalization has largely been dropped by Christian theologians. *Rationalization #7: Maybe in our human understanding we don’t know what Jesus meant when he said “this general would not pass away” and that “some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom”. He couldn’t have meant he was coming in the first century because he hasn’t come back yet and that would make him a false prophet.* This rationalization is nothing more than interpreting the Bible by a doctrine you want to be true. If you’re going to believe in the Jesus of the Bible, shouldn’t you base your doctrines on what the Bible actually says? It is self-deceit to look at Jesus’ “prophecy” detailing his return in the lifetime of his disciples and rationalize why it didn’t happen. Only a mind interested in maintaining the illusion of faith could twist and mangle the plain words of the Bible the way Christians have in an attempt to make the incredible credible. An honest mind looking at the facts would have no choice but to admit that Jesus’ prophecy of the end of days has failed to come true.

The problem with that looong list of reasoning: (1.) is your obvious unbelief in WHAT Jesus said, who He was, and WHO He was referring to. (2.) When Jesus addressed the generation of the time He lived on earth, He was talking about those who witnessed His resurrection and ascension (according to the ending of the 4 Gospels) and those who went with Him to paradise and those who He ministered to when He went to hell and took up with Him! ... Keep in mind, that ALL of the END TIME EVENTS that He spoke of were happening then and are still happening now. People are still dying (and "their world" is ending and they are yet facing their maker as we speak!!) Oh yes, Christ has been returning for the souls of believers and unbelievers for generations, and the end time rapture is still eminent... Your lack of belief in what He said does not change the fact that "our world" will end in death sooner or later and often when we least expect... (And here’s the HOTTEST question....) You went through ALL of that trouble, even listing scripture that you barely understopd, trying to obsessively put the issue of JESUS behind you... at the same time... Are you prepared to be wrong? --- I am just asking, because I am well-prepared to be wrong as well. (just a thought)
