Saw this line-up in a small venue in Holland. They sounded so good! Great vocal harmonies, all of them sang. I count myself very lucky indeed!!

An obscure time in Tubes band history. Once Fee left and the Capital Records contract ended, they fell off the musical radar. These old demo songs are a great listen for hardcore fans, yet they wouldn't have had any traction with Top 40 radio back-in-the-day.

Been waiting to hear music Tubes recorded during this period.Saw them several times post capital with prairie vince and bill telling me they had 2 albums of songs demoed.Would love to hear songs 3 simple words and Tell me what you want if anyone has them,thank you

Commander Cody (George Frayne) recorded a version of "They Kicked Me Out of The Band" I heard it on Facebook. Wondering if Spooner wrote it or did George? Cool to hear these demos! Thanks!

It does. Most of it is on extended versions of three Tubes albums from Iconoclasstic Records.

Holy wars on the Suffer for Sound Album isn't great but it's waaay better than the reggae version here.

And Fee's solo albums are garbage.Fee cowrote 2 great songs with David Foster and believed that formula of writing and recording was more important than having input from all band members.Judging from sales and reception of Read My Lips (done with Foster) and subsequent album both Waybill and the rest of The Tubes that together they put out unique interesting music rather than Fee's forgettable solo material.

@@brianmccain6302 Read Spooner's interview about it as his website. He's pretty straightforward about it. Basically the failure of Fee's solo album on Capitol records lead to the Tubes contract also being dropped as they were on the same label. Read the interview for the reasoning. But in years afterwards I heard that their allies at the label were let go in a restructuring.

@@brianmccain6302 Totally...I got into the tubes around the london live album time. They where mind blowing, and in 2012 i met Fee at a post office in Venice beach. We had a coffee together and chated. I must say my heart dropped when he kept talking about how he wanted tons of hits and felt like the tubes where in some way tainted. Odd is king.

@@aliensporebomb Can you post a link for that interview? Fan from the early days. Saw them at the UCSD gym premiering the Young and Rich songs. Lost count of how many shows later. Bill, was not the prettiest singer or player but his unique creativity was the fuel for the rest of the guys to be The Tubes.
