Yes I think even many Americans were quite shocked as well, because most people feel it's important to respect the cultures and traditions of other countries. I'm not a fan of MM, but feel it's possiable that she did not intentionally mean to insult our Queen personally, just mocking a royal procedure she felt was outdated etc. She actually said good things about the late Queen in the Oprah interview. So I don't believe MM was personally getting at the Queen, but rather how she as a American relates to plays on ancient royal times and fairy tales etc. Even so, it's never wise to make fun of other cultures, even if one is not intentionally refering to the actual monarch etc. Just like Prince Harry should also respect American culture, laws etc and not call their first amendment bonkers, even if he is not getting at the president personally.
