Excellent presentation of Kamikaze theatre by the Two Ronnies , Geishas were wonderfully dressed.

Absolutely brilliant! I remember this the first time round and haven't seen it for more decades than I care to remember. Two very very funny and talented guys.

I mean, this was a generation war when many adults either served or were alive during WWII and London did not get its first Japanese restaurant until the 1970s. Animosity from WWII took a lot of time to fade.

I was just imagining them in The Mikado, Ronnie B as the emperor, and Ronnie C as Ko-Ko. I think it would have worked.

I wonder if Japanese people would be offended by this. Regardless, this would never be allowed in the current absurdly PC climate. Great comedy seems a thing of the past when we can no longer take the mickey out of anything or anyone.

+m. mouskovitz Anyone who knows anything about geography, for one thing, and certainly anyone from either China or Japan. It would not have ruined the meter of the song to have RC sing, "Back in To-u-kyo, back in To-u-kyo..."
