@@sebastians2360 starting next season there will be 36 teams in the group stage. And there will be no more groups of 4 as all 36 teams are placed in one big group. Each team will play 8 group stage games, with 4 at home and 4 away. 8 teams with the best records in the group stage will go straight to the round of 16. Teams ranked 9th to 24th in the group stage will advance to the knockout round playoffs, where each team will play against another team twice, one at home and one away. The 8 winners of the playoffs will then advance to the round of 16. From the round of 16, the format remains the same.

"City getting blessed" like they would have any problem getting out of the groups. They destroyed Bayern and Madrid last season. And no it would not have been Liverpool in group of death if they qualified since Liverpool's coefficient ranking is much higher than Newcastle's. Liverpool would be placed in pot 2 and after that anything could happen.

Can anyone tell me why UTD had only three possibilities of groups i.e. ACD why not H which only had Barca till then.

Because UTD was paired with City and they cannot play on same day. Since City got group G(Wednesday), United could only get one of the Tuesday groups.

If we’re being honest here, United aren’t looking great at the moment. Do not be surprised if Galatasaray makes it to the qualifiers with their insane fans, United won’t be able to cope with the 60000 people booing them at the same time. Icardi is looking fire, same with mertens and hopefully Ziyech can do his part aswell. Galatasaray might cause some upsets, mark my words.

PSG already on E/F/G/H half, so Lens must be placed on A/B/C/D. Same country clubs must be separated into two half due to TV broadcast.

@@dryice1361 Porto still hasn't drawn out and for the same reason, they must be placed at group H, Benfica already on A/B/C/D. Yeah there's Braga in pot 3, but I guess they want the same country's top clubs to be in different half like United can't be on City's half and Atletico must be on Barca's half so Real Madrid can be placed on other half.
