Such a powerful message, sadly it needed to be stated! I reached waistlength in my late 50s after beating cancer in my late 40s. I couldn't have done it without chebe. Ambunu makes wash day less stressful because of its detangling properties. They are my go to products for life!

May I ask you did you go through chemo and go through hair loss? I'm looking at these hair videos thinking why bother taking care of my hair when it's gonna fall out anyway. I will be starting chemo.

I commend what you are saying. We are often showing self hatred towards our own cultures. I think chebe and ambunu are used as gimmicks by people using the ingredients incorrectly. People want to use the ingredients but they refuse to do the traditional hair styling and other hair care associated with it. This is another sign of self hatred.

You are SO RIGHT! We use all of these other Indian herbs and rice water and no one says anything. But the women who look like us and have hair like us they don’t like it. Same thing with Shea Butter. I LOVE AMBUNU, SHEA BUTTER AND CHEBE! I LOVE THINGS MY ANCESTORS USED! I don’t know why we do this to ourselves but it’s sad. I feel like we have come a long way in loving our natural hair, but now we need to start loving our heritage too. Thank you so much for stating this: well done! ❤️❤️

Tell it!! I’ve been using Chébé going on 6 months on November 10th. Now I use henna to color my hair and that works but the Chébé my hair LOVES it! I don’t pay attention to hypocritical people regarding this wonderful herb. They should be ashamed of themselves. The Chadian women have been using this since childhood so of course they have serious length because they don’t deviate from using it. If you want that length (and I do) then you have to use it for a long time. The Chébé has been very beneficial with helping my hair to retain moisture and length. Now I haven’t gotten the right ratio of the Ambunu and water...YET but the Chébé on my type 4 hair is amazing. In fact my hair can’t stand rice water since I have low porosity hair. To me (and this is my own opinion from months of use) the Chébé is no joke. No one has paid me to say anything. I do the traditional method for this product...my children have seen serious growth for me. In fact this is the longest my hair has ever been. I only buy this in the kilogram size so I don’t run out...especially if things get shut down again due to the virus. So if you haven’t used the product...done it correctly or not long enough then you don’t know anything about this product. The only thing I need to get better at is mixing my Ambunu and figuring out how to not make a huge mess in getting it everywhere.

I grind the leaves into a powder with my blender then add fresh aloe, then water by the tablespoon till I get my desired consistency. This REALLY cuts out the mess !

I think what is missing is the perception of “good hair”. Those other products are used by women who has a certain kind of hair texture, length, curl pattern etc. In the past in was not normal to see black women with kinky long hair and you did it was most likely dreadlocks. Even now women with kinky hair want their hair to curl, look, style a certain way that is not consistent with their texture.

Yes, Toya, I totally agree with you! I would like to see a video on women with 4C texture using the CHEBE. The ones that I have seen in the North African countries do NOT have this texture, thus having the length, smooth texture while being applied. It does appear that it is consistent with a 'looser curl' pattern, not a kinky, coily, dry, texture.

@Sierra000
@Sierra000 Жыл бұрын
@@margaretolasanoye5700 I got JBCO and mixed the chebe in it ( a slightly liquid texture ) , after washing my hair , I’d apply sulphur 8 on my scalp ( I have S. Dermatitis ), and then continue in with a leave in conditioner. After that I’d begin braiding down my roots ( braid about two or three times if you have the length, I never put chebe on my scalp ), then I’d apply the chebe mixture as I continued braiding. I’d have about eight plaits total, but it turned into 6 as my hair grew. I kept my hair like that under a bonnet and wore headwraps or wigs . Good luck sis 😁

I’m so glad you said this. Everything doesn’t work for everybody. All we have to do is try it. If it works great, if it doesn’t...don’t use it. Sometimes people don’t follow directions and sometimes people have their own agenda and don’t want you to buy somebody else’s product because they are trying to get you to use theirs. Good job for speaking out.

@Mateyena I subscribed because you literally said the words right as I was thinking them! I found rice water a few months ago and I swore by it even when it was making my hair super dry. I liked all the other Indian stuff too and have tons of it. I've got flax seed and marshmallow root too! I happened to come across a video where this lady was talking about Ambunu so I was like ok I'll try it. I received my 2 bags from Sahel (the lady spoke highly of it so I bought two bags...lol) and I tried it yesterday and I applied it, detangled, rinsed, AND styled my hair in less time than it usually takes me to JUST detangle my hair!!! (I've got that 4C fine but dense hair so I have to treat it gently). Anyways, It caused me to praise Yah and say that he put the things that each people group needed to use in the place that they would be!!! Ambunu is where it is at and it is soooooo much more easier to prepare than anything coming out of India or China! Yah is worthy to be praised for his infinite wisdom alone! You sure right Mateyena, you said nothing but truth. I can't believe I haven't heard of this AMAZING AMBUNU until about a week ago. We gotta do better fam and quit giving our money to strangers instead of family!!!! B1 👊🏾

Excellent point about women of African descent who live in the Americas are so willing to praise the others and not willing to praise people who look like them and have hair like them. Shame on that youtuber that you are referring to who is saying a product is a gimmick without even trying it. Many time I think we are our own enemy. I tried Chebe and love it. I have not tried Ambunu but will give it a try. The damage that Eurpoeans and others have done to the peoples of Africa is so huge that it makes us turn on ourselves. So sadddddd!! Great video with excellent and valid points. We have to stop looking at other cultures in order to define ours. What works for one culture may not work for another. Some of the most popular natural hair products have not worked for me, so I take anything beyond the basics with a grain of salt. But if I am open to trying another cultures techniques and products, they why not try what is coming out of my heritage as well.

I really want to try ambunu! I have been washing my hair with clays for 10 months and my hair has grown so much and my scalp isn't itchy like it used to be and it makes my hair so soft! I mistakenly bought fenugreek instead of flaxseed and have used it as a tea on my hair but couldn't see or feel any difference to me hair but have only used it a couple of times. I struggle to retain length because my hair splits so easily because it is so fine. My hair grows so so slowly. I don't see how rice water can do anything. Indian hair grows long easily because of their hair not what they put on it. update: I tried it a few times but it made my hair feel really dirty. Felt like it had a powder over my hair from it and my head got really itchy. It also made my hair feel hard.

Hey Tara. Great. Will you share how you use ambunu as a shampoo. how do you mix/make it. Thank you in advance. I just heard about it today and started researching. I started chebe on 3/7/21 and yeah. I had an inch of new growth in 5 days. I had to keep remeasuring to convince myself that it was real. But more importantly was the strenghtening of my hair. My hair was breaking out in long strands like crazy (think I have bad water at my house)....anyway. I was soooo happy. I'm keeping it braided and remoisterizing with chebe and moranga every 5 days.

I really can't stand rice water in my hair and henna too. I even tried flaxseed. They all dry my hair out without any shine. I have used mostly Indian products. Truth is I managed to grow my hair out but it's so dry to the extent my family think I don't put any effort in my hair. I have just come across Chebe and Ambunu. A bit late to this party but I am super excited to try. It is true some Africans believe if it is African it's not good, I have seen this in everything from food, clothes and more. I completely don't agree, but things are really changing and a lot of people are finding answers back home in Africa. Thank you for this video

You made a great point it’s really sad our people are so quick to support “well known” people than their own kind and it goes beyond hair products but in all aspects. I guess it’s that evil eye towards your brother. Me personally I prefer products made by people who look like me that other cultures. And my only concern with chebe was the directions say not to use it on the scalp just the hair shaft. I will definitely be ordering some Ambunu for my next gel formulation.

Things are changing.woman are now learning to embrace their natural hair. Specially coarser&kinky texture hair. Unfortunately , this was impregnated in women for centuries . Gowing up , it would seem like there was something wrong with this hair type, then texturizing and relaxing it was a remedy to imitate silky hair. Anywho! I am so glad women are appreciating their hair, understanding we are not equal and there is beauty in every culture and race.. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻it took 40 years for me to appreciate my hair and be no apologetic .. I tried the rice water and it works on my hair. I believe it became popular so fast cause cheap and easy to do.. I eat rice everyday 😂😂 today I was looking for other natural product to use and I came across the video of the “chad” village and the procedure they do. I found it interesting, worth the try.. the difference is that you have to purchase this herb online because it cannot be found in the USA, so it does not make it as easier as the ride water. Plus the thing for me is that I don’t know to recognize if is legit (powder). So I need to to extend research where to buy it from and which brand. I am down about what you said , “these woman in those villages, should be compensated “. There are so many greedy people on this world. It happens all over the world.. humble tribes that make nice hand craft and products only get paid a misery while the others get super rich.......I also thing that the Yao woman of China and the “chad woman from Africa do not let their hair out. They alway wrapped their hair or braid them.. So this place a factor in hair growth.. they don’t do a lot.. they all have their routine. They don’t cut it..don’t color their hair, don’t bleach their hair.. etc.. they just let their hair be❤️❤️❤️

Exactly!!! We are so quick to turn our back on or tear down our own. I only see this in the black community. I have other cultures who lift and support my business but not one black customer and my product was formulated for us.

Neither is a gimmick! These herbs from Africa are THEE TRUTH! I use Chebe and the last time I took my braids down, detangled my hair, reapplied the Chebe and braided my hair again, I had two strands of dead hair from Emmy whole head! I just ordered and from all the videos, I love the slippage and can’t wait to use Chebe will grow your hair overtime, not instantly, because it helps to prevent breakage.

I'm just now hearing about ambunu, if my race is using it and it's natural I need to check that out. I like the stuff from other cultures but I have special needs that they don't have any idea about Edit: henna is grown and used in Africa as well, I know it's used for body art but not sure if they use it for hair

It's the propaganda from hundreds of years of that dominant culture telling us what's best, beautiful, trustworthy, etc. The Matrix is alive and real. People forget that the reason African nations were carved up and colonized was because of all the riches that it held and still holds. Every aspect of our culture is worthy of copying but not worth giving credit. I agree Sis!

Preach it ,girl! Shame on the KZfaqr that called Chebe a gimmick 😢. Chebe has worked wonders for my hair; it’s not a gimmick. Although I have the “so called good hair”, I still struggled to keep my hair from breaking, until Chebe. It’s the bomb 💣♥️♥️♥️. Anyway, I’m 💯 percent on board with what you said.
