This video is designed to teach you to understand and use Air properly in HOI4. This is one of the most important parts of the game to understand and will usually be the deciding factor in most wars and games for your playthroughs. Air warfare and mechanics are often misunderstood especially after the huge chances with by blood alone. This video will allow you to understand everything from simply managing them, to how the stats themselves operate. By the end, air systems will hopefully be easy to use!

Avery small tip as well, even if you didn't talk about specific design. If you want to upgrade your planes from an earlier model to the next, make sure the new model can do the exact same missions than the oldest one. If you don't, for example add Strategic bombing capabilities to your CAS design, the game will see this as an entirely new line of plane, and your older models will not upgrade to the new ones.

@@CyberShrekko oh ... yeah Running 3 projets at the same time was not a great idea . Well for a recap it was soo usefull i ended up accused of staking the game in advance and cheating (since i won all of the air wars ) and then was called a tryhard whene i explainad myself and shared the video .witch lead to the discord where i was hosting ending up dead . I stoped playing since. (It was 4 months ago )

This is a great guide. I'd insist though on air accidents: unless you have substantial IC, countries like France suffer a lot from accidents, something like 50% of each wing per year, so exercising is lethal. It might be bugged, because accident rate falls when you operate in crowded airports, but as France there are other priorities.

Never noticed that myself, perhaps their starting aircraft are super low on reliability. Or one of their starting national spirits hurts them with air.

That’s just a combination of France light/medium airframes having low reliability and the weather near eastern and southern France (around the mountains) storms are havoc on plane losses due to accidents and storms are more frequent in mountain biomes. The safest place to train your planes as France is in your African colonies. Desert tiles very rarely have weathers that would affect planes

About Kamikazi, its also with any generic nations if its go the path of nationalism. I always love to knock the Uk and USA fleets as Brazil by Kamikazies before deploying my fleets

At one point you said bombs will allow you to equip medium and heavy frames with bombs. That is incorrect. The light frames can carry bombs as well as naval bombers or cas

Youre very welcome. If you have not already I really recommend fully learning navy, it will be the same for HOI4 period, MD, and anything else you play.

Good video ! Just a question, how to make the best air fighter variants without the By Blood Alone dlc ?

You will produce air without being able to customize but still can. Go to make a variant the same way and there are 4 options for improving, max the one for air and agility bonuses first, then do air attack. Make sure your reliability stays solid and balance by increasing the option for that as needed

Remember to go for fighters first and try to rush fighter 3's in as reasonable a time you can. If you dont win the air war nothing else matters.@@user-kp6iv1ug2d

If they give ground attack yes, if not no. I think for what youre refering to its only air attack which is useless on CAS

I have a question, I'm not sure if this is normal but when i deploy air units for example to Poland it takes a month i remeber before the new update it only took a few days to arrive what happened?

Why after choosing the mission for fighters or CAS, just not attach a 100 to 200 to an army? Is there a penalty for doing this? It seems this would cut down on air micro-management a lot.

I find they get moved to bases not very well. That will cause a lot of issues with trading and setting up your wings in air zones properly. If you have a huge number advantage and dont want to worry about it go for it.

@@Hammurabae Yeah I've learned never to trust the AI, but does assigning CAS to an army cause them to prioritize battles with those units? If So It might be worth it to attach them to assault units or units defending key terrain.

Theyre worth building period. All air spotting as well as for naval engagements is huge. Try to out them in places they will overlap with important areas you intend to or may fight in in land and sea.

Excellent Videos! Perhaps speak a little slower though. Sometimes i find you either mumble, mispronounce or speak so fast I have to keep rewinding to catch exactly what you're putting across. You have fantastic knowledge and explain it all very well, just perhaps rushed.
