I completely understand ur feelings abt the plot and I am in no way discounting that but in an interview with Simon Teen she said that the whole point of this book was just the calm before the storm and it needed to happen so that book three can be CRAZY so we just need to trust in Lauren’s ability to give us the perfect ending!!🏹🏹🏹

I feel like reckless is just falling into “second book in a series syndrome”. I think A LOT of the things that happened in Reckless needed to happen the way it did to build up for Fearless…. I didn’t have extremely high expectations of Reckless, but with how that book went, my expectations for Fearless and what’s to happen in that are pretty high 🫢

I am manifesting that fearless is gonna pop off 👏🏻👏🏻

I had the same feelings about reckless until I saw Lauren’s recent TikToks and she has pretty much said this was all intentional. That she wanted it to be a record scratch moment but she wanted this book to be the calm before the storm. So that made it better for me because it showed that she does have a good plan for this series

i agree with what you said about reckless/iron flame issues, i find that with booktok hype specifically books are losing so much potential bc authors are catering to the readers more than their craft to get books out quicker even when they aren't ready. i felt like reckless was a bunch of filler like there were so many sub plots that were introduced and never touched on again and im like ??? hopefully somehow she ties everything up in fearless and the ending was so predictable, idk it was fun still interested to see where the series goes from here 🏹🏹🏹

SPOILERS FOR RECKLESS!!! THE ENDING WAS SO CONFUSING omg I need to rant about this book. ok so first of all why would kitt talk to Callum after what he did? why did kitt have posters saying to bring paedyn DEAD or alive if he was going to propose? why did paedyn not get mad when Lenny came back because of the fact that in powerless the resistance said they would kill everyone in the arena if they didn't agree to coexist with the ordinaries and they didn't even tell paedyn that was there plan. Also why would kitt even agree to marry her because the whole book he was talking about how much he was grieving his father and then he proposes to the person who killed him? I'M SO CONFUSED if Lauren doesn't start right where she left reckless literally to the second I will be disappointed like if she starts it with paedyn being engaged I would be so mad like I want to start right where it left, when kitt said "you are to be my bride" (which why was it a command and not a question?) I want to know paedyn's immediate thought. and if Lauren tries to make this into a love triangle in the next book I will simply die. Kai one hundred percent doesn't deserve that and kitt surely doesn't even like paedyn. I feel like Callum may have an alterior motive but I don't think him and kitt had teamed up before the ending of powerless because kitt expressed how betrayed he felt at the end of powerless. Don't get me wrong I gave the book four stars but I'm just confused. Anyone else feel this way?

I definitely feel you on the lack of editing with the second book. I noticed the typos too even Paedyns name being spelled wrong. I have hope that Fearless will wrap things up well and hopefully Reckless just has a case of middle book syndrome. 😢🫶🏻
